Great haircut from Mirana. She was courteous and listened to me and gave me a fresh look for the summer.

Blown away!! If youre looking for an amazing and skilled waxer for a Brazilian, LYDIA is your girl!…read moreNot only have I been getting waxed for over 10 years, but I am actually a former longtime wax specialist myself, so I am extremely picky and wouldn't be writing this is if it wasn't true. Although I have since changed careers altogether, I am typically able to wax myself... that is, until I got pregnant and it became an impossible task. Next came the seemingly impossible task of finding a waxer I could trust to get me through the next few months of my pregnancy. I booked with Lydia based off of a few glowing reviews, but still had my apprehension... its totally a control thing, trusting someone to do to you what you yourself are an expert in! Whats the saying.. doctors are the worst patients? Anyway, I braced myself for some discomfort and was pleasantly surprised by Lydias amazing painless technique. She is such a sweet girl to talk to as well! My wax was flawless and I immediately rebooked. What a relief to not have to worry about waxing with a new wax specialist I can trust, so close to home! ALSO- I didnt see it mentioned in reviews, but to anyone wondering, Waxing the City DOES use Hard/Stripless Wax on Brazilian waxes.. not soft wax... just an FYI as everyone told me they only used soft wax!

So disappointed....I used to come here religiously for Michelle (she no longer works here). As you…read morecan see, all the great reviews with pictures mention her. Anyway, when she left, I decided to not bother taking the drive here and found a great place by my house. Long story short, I'm leaving for vacation and my girl wasn't available so I came here and asked for a recommendation for someone to do my brows. What I got was a mess! When I saw the one brow I immediately told the girl that I usually don't take that much off and she, visibly seeing I wasn't happy, said my eyebrow was already messed up (it wasn't). The wax felt fine going on and I do not have sensitive skin but there is some kind of stinging welt beneath the eyebrow that got messed up. Nothing could be done so I didn't say anything more and I left. I called the owner 15 minutes later because I was too upset after looking at my brows in the car and she said I would be offered a refund and to go to someone named Lidia next time. She called me back a couple hours later and she said she talked to the girl and the girl explained everything she did to me during my session. I don't know how that's relevant. Explaining what you did doesn't make me like the outcome. The owner said the girl who did my brows "does them all day" and that "no one has ever complained". That was the end of the conversation. I didn't receive a refund and I will not be going back. The proof is in the pictures.

I was introduced to EWC years ago and have stayed a loyal customer ever since. This location in…read moreparticular can get pretty busy at times but the staff is lovely and they do their best to accommodate. Not only can you walk-in at any time without an appointment, but you can also pre-book appointments online, through their app, via text-message if rescheduling, or via phone. That combined with their flexible hours as well as being open on holidays makes this a very convenient wax place especially for busy individuals. Cost: It can be pricey if you don't buy one of their wax passes. I get their student package for one of the larger body area services which is $177 and gives you 4 passes. When you divide this out - you basically end up paying around $44 per wax plus whatever amount you tip. If you buy a bigger package, you'll get a bigger discount. Location: conveniently located in a shopping center next to stores like Nordstrom rack, DSW, & Shop-Rite so you can indulge in some retail therapy & get your groceries for the week right before or after your wax appointment. The space is kept very clean and smells good! The wax: they use a purple hard wax that is made exclusively for EWC and not sold on the shelf. The wax they use is one of the main reasons I've stuck with this place. I've gotten waxed at many different places in the past and have always gotten a reaction from the wax. The wax at EWC goes on smooth and comes off quickly. No strips needed and it works for my skin without giving me a reaction. Each appointment is typically blocked off for a 15 minute time slot. It may take you a few gos until you find a wax specialist that you really like, but once you find your perfect person you can request to book all future appointments with her! You also get credit for referring a friend, and they offer a couple services for free if it is your first time.

The only real battle isn't with the wax, it's with the revolving door of waxers. Just when you find your holy grail of smoothness, poof, they vanish like a magician's assistant. Finding a good waxer is basically like dating: amazing when it works, heartbreak when they ghost. I have had both good and terrible experiences here. But solid waxers are Sarah and Alafia!

Cosmo Bleu is next to a consignment shop and bubble tea place, on the "other" side of Nassau. The outside awning looks a little dated, but the interior seemed clean and not as old looking as I had expected from other reviews. Aguri did a great job with my hair and was really fun to chat with. The head massage during the shampoo was really relaxing, and she listened to what I was looking for before making her own suggestions. I just wanted to trim my bob without looking like a puffball (I have a round face, and Asian hair protests against volume), and she did just that while restyling my layers. It's been about a month since then, and my hair still looks good (with maybe one area that's grown out a bit flippy). I'm not sure if I'll be totally changing stylists quite yet, but Aguri has gained my trust.

She didn't even use any product on my hair. I don't think she cut my hair in the extra pay price I paid for, she just trimmed it. At the end, I ran out of cash, and the snotty lady at the desk said run to CVS for the tip, when I asked if I can come back late or mail it in. This is not the first time the front desk was snotty. The stylist really didn't care about me as a client.
