It was okay. I had not cut my hair for over a year and for three years before that I had my friend cut my hair, but since my cross country move I couldn't go to her, so I delayed my cut badly. I find that this place was more of a get in get out and when I asked for some recommendations the stylist looked a little dumbfounded, so it sucked in that sense. The people here are very friendly, but i would much rather just pay a little more and get a better cut. read more

I love this hair salon, I've been here twice and have loved how they do my hair. And it's affordable! I usually come when they do the $8 special.and with a wash its 11$ .. pretty good right? If you don't like playing Russian roulette, don't go here. I've been here twice to get my hair trimmed while growing it out. The first time, I got an experienced stylist who did a good, quick trim. The second time was a different story... everything that could go wrong did, including the hair chopper (she cut my hair in a straight line, which left my hair looking "chopped") asking someone else to help her because she doesn't know how to cut the front or right side of people's hair. Scary! Luckily there was someone else there who didn't mind fixing it. She ended up having to cut my hair all over again to get rid of the chopped effect and even things out. She also apologized for the other person, saying she was "new"... do the beauty schools not teach how to trim hair? I was in the Great Clips on Mission in Oceanside last week getting my haircut. I asked about getting a a body wave in my hair, Stephine stated this particular shop does not use chemicals. She referred me to the Great Clips on Oceanside Blvd. Stephine called the Great Clips on Oceanside Blvd.and set up an appointment for me with Sarah for today. When I arrived for my appointment today I told the lady at the counter I had an appointment with Sarah @1:30. This lady snapped back at saying WE DON'T TAKE APPOINTMENTS YOU NEED TO CHECK IN ONLINE! I explained to her I was referred by the manger form the Great Clips on Mission and she spoke to Sarah and scheduled this appointment. She again said WE DON'T TAKE APPOINTMENTS YOU NEED TO CHECK IN ON LINE. She then told me Sarah was not there and would not be in until Saturday.This lady was VERY rude and I do not understand how Sarah can schedule an appointment with me then not call to reschedule my appointment. Stephine gave Sarah my phone number in case something came up and she was unable to make our scheduled appointment today. Needless to say this was a very poor customer experience provided by this Great Clips store today. Employees are very inviting and friendly. Met the owners Mark and Jill and wasn't a fan of them or how they represent Great Clips. I hate how literally anyone can own a franchise salon. They were extremely rude, unprofessional and clearly have no passion or understanding of the beauty industry given that they aren't even licensed in barbering/cosmetology. Business is not just about money its also having understanding and confidence in what you are selling. That would explain why their business is slow. My experience has led me to never walk into another Great Clips again. read more
