The lady asked me how much I wanted off and I told her 2 inches she asked me if she could turn me around, so my back was to the mirror because the lighting was better, I said fine, she did not turn me back around until my hair was done. My hair was at my bra strap when I went in or maybe just a little bit longer. And when I left my hair was not even an inch past my shoulders, that is not 2 inches. I said, wow, my hair is short, she said, well, I had to texturize it. I never asked her to text. Ized my hair. I asked her to cut 2 inches off my hair. First off, don't bother checking in online. you'll wait an hour to get a text that tells you to be there in 15 minutes but be prepared to wait at least 30. Make it past that an you'll be getting the brush bounced off your head, scissors gouging your ears and a trim job I could do at home. I honestly don't know how this great clips in particular is so bad but I'm disappointed every time I go.. Lesson Learned read more

I went to the Great Clips near King Soopers, wonderful experience with Avalon. I have a broken hand and only needed a shampoo and blow dry, I just closed my eyes and let her work. The result, it felt great, looked great. Avalon is the kind of stylist that makes you want to go back. read more

We have been going to this great clips for a few years now and every time it has been a great experience. Checked online and it was easy to make the apt arrived and waiting just 5 mins. There is a lot of parking space. They do require masks and have sanitizer for costumers. They did take our temperatures and only the boys who had hair cut appointments went in. The hair styles came out a few times to make sure the hair was just right. We appreciated ghat very much. I asked if they can put the notes in for the hair cuts and who cut their hairs and they were already on top of it. One of my sons said that he enjoyed the hair cut ( wow he hates hair cuts!) because the lady who cut his hair didn't get hair in his chest or on his neck. So that's a plus ! Terrible. Will never go back. Checked in on-line. "Will text" the memo said. Waited for text and got it saying "come on down." Got there and waited for 20 minutes before getting up and leaving. Had been there several times prior and almost always had the same experience. Why check in on-line, I kept asking? This time was the final straw. On prior visits, rarely saw the same stylists. I'm guessing there must be a tremendous turnover. This time, there were two stylists working. A third person (manager?) walked around aimlessly with a bored look on her face. She'd go to the back and disappear for a while (smoke break?). She'd return and walk around while never looking at the people waiting up front. She stopped at the front desk and looked through the incoming mail. She opened a few delivered packages and continued to look as though she couldn't wait until her next break. A highly inefficient shop with a staff that must have skipped the "customer relations" class when in training. I wish there were a "zero" rating option. read more

I went in on a Saturday for a trim & while I was waiting, I decided I wanted to try sideswept bangs as well. The lady who was assigned to do my hair was Tina. As soon as I sat down in her chair, she rudely commented on how bad I needed a haircut (obviously I already knew that since I was there but apparently she felt better reiterating that to the whole salon). She asked how much of my ends I wanted trimmed and when I told her, she kept trying to argue with me. Maybe she was annoyed that I didn't want to do things her way because she cut my hair VERY uneven (picture attached). I didn't realize it was uneven until after I went home & styled it so I didn't say anything in the moment. She also made a very poor & lazy attempt at side swept bangs on me. It looked like she just kind of took some of the front pieces around my face & cut them in half. There was no "sideswept" or "bangs" about it (picture attached) They looked extremely choppy & sloppy. I explained I wasn't happy but she shrugged & told me to go home & style them & I would like them then. So I went home hoping straightening my hair would help but it just made everything look worse. Hands down the worst haircut of my life! (But everyone has at least one, right?) I went in the following Monday. Tina was there but didn't speak to me or look my way, clearly trying to avoid me. I spoke to the manager, Danielle, who said she would fit me in as soon as she had time. As soon as she had the chance to look at my hair, she told me she agreed that my hair looked really bad & kept apologizing about my unpleasant experience with Tina. She spent almost an hour trying to even out my ends & rescue my horrendous "sideswept bangs." She eventually got my hair to look decent (not because of lack of her work, but the extent of how badly Tina had messed it up in the first place). She was so nice & a pleasure to work with! We come here semi regularly, and I can agree with some of the other reviews. Inconsistency is the operative word when getting a haircut here. If yiur hair is critical to your look, then I wouldn't recommend them. However if you have some wiggle room, then your probably safe. Luckily for me, and the boys we can handle a OK haircut without too many issues. I can say I've never got a really bad or really good cut here, all are just north or south of OK. The online check in is a key reason we come here, so take that into consideration too. It's nice to not have to take a shot in the dark as to how long your wait will be. read more

I've gone here many times, Michael and Sylvia are very good. But, this time I didn't have the good fortune of having one of these two hair stylists, and I don't remember the name of this woman, but my experience wasn't good. She was very friendly and I will give her that, but oh dear god...I had one of the worst haircuts in years. All I wanted was an inch off the bottom and to clean up the layers. Instead she cut off 6 inches, the front is one inch uneven on one side and the layers are just "all wrong". I was trying to save a few dollars from my regular expensive hair salon and the was my big mistake! My advice is, if you go to this salon only go to the two hair stylists I mentioned above. read more

My husband and I got a recommendation from a neighbor that one of the girls here was really good. Of course, that girl wasn't working when we got there, but went ahead w the haircuts. Aaron did my husband's cut and did an amazing job. Sylvia did my cut, which was equally as fabulous. Both of us have unique (minor) challenges with our hair that have led to very poor results in the past and these two are obviously very skilled stylists. Got the worst haircut here about 6 months ago. But knowing how the turnover can be with these cut-cost places, my husband & I decided to go. First, I called to make an appt. The woman who answered the phone said "You have to download our APP." WHY? My husband & I DO NOT live on our phones. We simply want a quick haircut. I told her I don't know how to do that. And tried it while we were talking. It said "OOPS something went wrong try again." 3 times. So NO we could Not schedule online. Got to the shop & the woman cutting hair IGNORED us. Then grudgingly said "hullo" She dragged herself to the front desk. Said "did you schedule online." NOOO So "It'll be 45 min." If people are too exhausted to greet someone, something needs to ChANGe. and why the APP baloney. The primary reason we get our hair cut from Great Clips is because of the convenience of being in our neighborhood and we can drop in. Today my son son and I dropped in and were told the wait for him could be as long as 35 minutes. After waiting 25 minutes of waiting we learned that our wait now was 1 hour 45 minutes! This was because other were scheduling online although we were sitting there at the store? Basic management would allocate a portion of the staff to walk in business and the rest online reservations. It is really hit or miss here. I've been getting my hair cut here for about 2 years, but I think it is time for a change.

I went in to get my hair thinned out and the lady barley did anything to it. I explained to her how thinning out my hair is kinda a big deal for me because my hair is so thick and heavy that thinning it out helps so much. Well she thinned out like maybe two tiny sections at the bottom of my hair, she might as well not have thinned out those sections of my hair bc I feel no difference. I have been getting my hair thinned out for about 12 ish years now and this woman told me that she didn't want to thin more out because it supposedly damages hair, nobody in the 12 years that I've done this has told me that. And even if it does damage the hair that is my choice to make because it is my hair not theirs also they are not paying for the service I am. I have always gone to this location and they have always done what I asked and asked if I wanted to thin more out than what they do and if I do then they do it but not this time. I just think it's ridiculous and I will not be coming back. I have now wasted my money on nothing because my hair is the exact same. read more

I have to specifically shout out Aaron and Crystal (while I have been told that everyone and specifically Sylvia is also FANTASTIC!) I had a situation where myself and my son were burned by 40 developer being put on our scalp's to bleach! Not only that but I was also cut several times by an incorrect usage of clippers....and a botched hair tattoo to say the least, I was told by someone I ran into on the street (I stopped him because of the hair design/tattoo) that Aaron (or Sylvia,) were the people to go see and that he chased them all over Longmont to ONLY have his hair cut by one of them. Needless to say, not only have I gone in to have my hair fixed, amazingly by Aaron....he has also cut both of my 13 and 17-year-old son's hair (hard to please teens, but both impressed, to say the least.) I look forward to going back to have Sylvia cut our hair as well! Additionally, I would have never known the cause for the burns had it not been for the advice/knowledge of Crystal, and the young lady (I forget her name, ack,) working at the front reception area.....I now will have someone for color again too! I alternate between a couple of locations for my haircut depending on where I am when it is time. I would say that Great Clips is Great, but it good and works for me. The nice thing about getting a haircut is no matter how bad the haircut is, it will always grow back read more

I started coming here since Cost Cutters across the street just went under. Having frequented these discount places for many years, it's all about the luck of the draw, some stylists are good, some not so much (I've had a few lousy cuts at the other place). Since I was lucky enough to get Christina, she did what I asked, finished up in around 10 minutes and was pleasant and humorous. Since I work at home and will not spend a lot for a men's haircut, I'm gonna be a customer as long as I live up the street, so the 4 stars are based solely on my experience with Christina. read more
