The store opens at 8:00 AM, yet there were several customers and employees waiting outside because the person responsible for opening the store had not shown up. By 8:30 AM, we were still waiting and no one had arrived to open the doors. This is extremely disappointing and shows a lack of organization and accountability. There should be a lockbox or another employee who is trusted with a key so the store can open on time if the person responsible is unavailable. Customers shouldn't have to wait outside for 30+ minutes just to get into a business during its posted hours. Hopefully management addresses this issue so it doesn't happen again. read more

Needed a quick bang trim and was APPALLED to see the shop near me charging $15 for this 5 min service!! (I mean, seriously??) So, to say that I was a tad grumpy and needing to vent by the time I stopped at this Great Clips location...?... What a great experience it was!! With the amount of turnover they have, it should come as no surprise that they really have no idea what they're doing. good example is their checking on their app. it's a great idea. However, it's highly Ina accurate and they don't even follow their own list. I checked in at 11:55 this morning. I headed to the salon. I got there at 12:10 PM. I was told I was 5th in line, which corresponded with their screen and mine. I was told it would be about 15 minutes. I sat and waited and watched 6 people be taken in, and remember I'm number 5 on the list. When the sixth person was taken, I asked why am I not moving up the list? It showed the 4 ahead of me as being in salon. The list did not show me as being in salon. When I asked I was told as if I were an idiot that well, other people must have checked in ahead of you. I let them know that I've watched 6 go through while I was number 5. how exactly does that work? I was told again the 6 must have checked in ahead of me. I asked them to take me off the list. I've been going to this store for a good solid 10 years at least. In this region it is the better of the 2 stores. So, to encapsulate, if you can't service your clients in the time that you yourself alot and then you treat them as if they're the problem you lose the client. Finally! A hairstylist that listens and gets it right! I've come to this Great Clips several times, have gotten haircuts by various stylists and am usually satisfied. But Ashley is by far the best among them! This was the first time that Ashley has cut my hair. After listening to my description and looking at the style photos on my phone, she gave me exactly what I wanted. She took her time and, since I was going a lot shorter, verified the length with me several times as she worked. The result was a great cut and the perfect style for me! No so 'Great clips. Went in for a simple trim. I have long fine hair and needed the dead ends cut off. After the hour wait at 8 am on a Sunday morning I was greeted by a young, nice gal, Kat. When she cut my hair I cringed bcuz she used a technique I've never experienced. She held my hair straight and drug her shears through my hair (sorta like how u cut wrapping paper). When she was doing it I could hear my hair snapping. When she was done it looked ok. 2 days later my ends were frayed and split. How did i end up with more split ends than when I started? When I told others about my experience I was told with my fine hair that's a no go and the shears that were used were probably dull. Oh well, I guess it's only hair but in the meantime I have ugly hair because I don't want to cut it again. read more

Took my son for a haircut. I will not go to this particular Great Clips again. Cutting kids hair may not be the most enjoyable task as they wiggle around and have trouble holding still, I get that. But she seemed extra impatient and had a rude tone of voice with him. When she was finished cutting the hair she dried it and asked what I think. I politely asked if she could cut it a little shorter. She looked at me rudely and then started chopping the back of it, quickly and carelessly, and it looked awful, and hacked, and uneven and had pieces sticking up in the back. I didn't feel comfortable asking her to fix it since she was so impatient and rude so I paid and left. I took my son to other Great Clips in San Jacinto to have it fixed. They were much more polite and patient with a small kid. And they fixed it to look nice. I forgot the name of the stylist, but either way, rather than risking another disaster and rude customer service I'll just avoid this place altogether. read more

Took my son in for children's haircut and he received the worst haircut ever. First of all he sits very still and turns his head the way he is instructed to do so. I don't remember the stylists name but according to the receipt it was Amy. I had to ask her 3 times to fix certain areas where she missed cutting long pieces of hair. In the end she put gel into his hair and we didn't see it until we washed his hair at home how uneven his bangs and the rest is. They give decent haircuts but the wait times given on the app, and once you arrive are excessive! Today I signed up on the app for an appointment which told me the wait time was 28 minutes so after 15 minutes I drove over there and the app upon arrival said my wait was now 85 minutes. Since I had already arrived, I went in and still had to wait another 45 minutes to get a haircut. Unacceptable unless you have nothing else to do with your time but wait to get a haircut. read more

Understand I have no problem with the staff i really like the ladies working there but, last time was a bit of a disaster. I normally like going to kids hair places for my children's hair appointments but my four year old son needed a hair cut and we were new in town so I didn't have time to research different places. After doing a quick search we found ourselves here and are very glad we went in. They loved my son! He can talk your ear off but they didn't mind and even carried on a conversation with him. I also love that they kept every customer's information saved (if of course you want it saved) so that next time you come in they already know exactly what you want done. I had only been to one other Great Clips before - a dirty little shop with no AC or ventilation in National City near San Diego - so was a little wary of going here. But it's got a good location near my home, and the Yelp reviews were good, so I decided to try it out. I was very pleasantly surprised. The shop was really nice and clean, and the price ($13 for a men's haircut) was about the cheapest I'd paid in maybe a decade. But it got even better from there: the stylist informed me that keep notes on your haircut histories, so that they can "fine tune" the process to get it exactly how you want it. Beyond that, I was surprised by how good the stylist herself was. A few of the questions she asked about what I wanted my hair to do after the cut showed me that she knew her stuff - they were questions which made a lot of sense, but that no other stylist had asked me before - and the haircut was provided with skill and speed, And then as I was leaving, the final cherry on top: I saw that you can buy haircut cards for future haircuts for $10. Can't beat that (seriously, $10 - that's awesome :p). read more
