I'd recommend not going to this great clips or great clips in general Just got the worst haircut of my life that took the lady less than three minutes to do. She (Peggy) missed clumps of hair and cut it uneven and rushed me out the door. If you do go here, I'd recommend not getting your haircut from her. Worst haircut of my adult life, older lady with white hair was to busy gossiping that she missed and cut 7 INCHES of hair in a baseball sized area on the top of my head. It was a solid haircut but the wait was a little long and it's Just an ordinary barber shop.

My first time at this Clips store and I'll give the haircut quality 4 stars as well as my cutter, who had some creative small talk, 4 stars. I dropped a star for the overall shop because while I waiting an elderly man entered. One of the cutters asked the usual, "did you check in online"? The man said he didn't and then I never heard her ask if he had an account she snapped, "I'll put you on the list this time but you need to start checking in." The man looked kind of confused and disappointed as he exited the building and didn't return. There have been a few times at Great Clips when I forgot to check in. An employee will smile and say it's no problem, ask me for my number and it's done. This employee needs to realized not everyone has a smart phone and never will, she has to be flexible and offer to put a phone in the system or just manually enter and give him an estimate for his wait time.. not check in shaming. read more

Been to this great clips about a dozen times since moving to the area. It's always hit, off center, or completely miss. One time you're satisfied, the next not so much or you just don't want to complain. So, if you do go to any great clips and are satisfied, stick with that stylist. My complaint is one stylist i've had several times. Red colored hair, huge arm tattoo, and smells like smoke. Shontelle (sp?). She's loud and obnoxiously bossy (my point about not wanting to complain, but it is unprofessional in front of customer's). A customer was being helped by the manager at the front desk and she looks towards him and yells across the store at the customer to "put a mask on." Customer shrugged her off while manager embarrassingly shook her head and looked down. Just thought to myself, manager was already helping him, why yell across the store? Also, some people are exempt and it's up to the business to accommodate if necessary. You can't refuse someone who may have a disability. There are laws against that. Otherwise, the store owner could be sued for turning away someone who may have a disability exemption. If you happen to go to this great clips, i would strongly suggest avoid this stylist For your own sanity. read more

I'd give it a zero but the scale doesn't go that low. I have had nothing but bad experiences at this particular store. Three times I've been talked down to after checkIng in online and questioning how someone who came in after me was serviced before me. Once the wait was over an hour I checked in and the system dropped me off the list as it won't hold your place past 60 min. Today I was asked how far up I wanted the one to go, mind you I get a 1 to 4 taper at this store for the last year once monthly. I tried to explain this fact. I was told that's not what "it" says. I got up to leave, the manager came out of the back and tried to somehow claim she had never been snotty and as she put in the notes last they were right. I would recommend not using this great clips store there is another in FL there is also a fantastic sams if you have time as they're always busy. read more

Both my daughters needed a trim. Given that it was a Saturday afternoon, I figured it'd be a good idea to check in ahead of time. The estimated wait time online was 87 minutes, so I checked in and then planned my afternoon accordingly. When we showed up approximately 80 minutes later, neither girl appeared on the online check-in screen. The woman at the cash register told me that after an hour, the system clears the names out. When I asked her why an 87 minute advance check-in was even possible, she simply told me that was the policy, but if no one else who checked in showed up, both girls could get in pretty quickly. No "Sorry about the mishap." or "Gosh, sorry for the inconvenience." Or attempt to do the right thing and get them in quickly. So we waited because the other Great Clips in town also had a 45 minute wait, and the trims just needed to get done. Oh, and everyone from the online check-in screen showed up. Because that's the entire point of being able to do an on-line check in. When the first girl was called to get her hair done after 20 minutes, the woman mispronounced her name. Foreign-sounding name, so easy to do, I guess. But when I corrected her by pronouncing it correctly, she rolled her eyes and said "Okay, whoever" as though it was it was a huge inconvenience to at least try to get it right. Not cool. When she finished with my daughter, it didn't appear that any of the dead ends had been cleaned up, because for all her attention to eyeliner and contoured cheekbones, the kid still doesn't get the value of brushing her hair without the fury of an angry mother in the 1930's.1 inch wasn't enough. I know it's the discount place, but for the licenses posted by each station, I expect a little better professional judgement for my money. Another 25 minutes went by and my other daughter was called back. Ends cleaned up just fine. When I approached the counter to pay, the same woman asked me if only one inch really was okay for the first daughter, because she had told her that one inch was enough. I told her we could easily go another two if she had the flexibility to get it done. She did. By that point, we had been there for an hour and I was now late for the other places I needed to be that day. I get that technology fails. Fine. I get that Saturdays are busy haircut days. Understood. But as a paying customer, I expect courtesy and professionalism. I've been to this location a hundred times, but I won't be back. read more

I am NOT one to leave any type of negative review, but this one is warranted... We have been coming to this location for years, even though it's a 30 minute drive for us to get there. We had a friend work there. We have family that lives in town that uses (now we can say USED) this location, so we were there frequently. I checked in online and the wait time was 44 minutes. The other location noted that it wasn't taking any more check-ins because the list was full and getting close to their closing time. No such notice on my check-in. My son and I got there in 45 minutes (1 minute late, my fault), and I was instantly greeting by the manager/owner (like I said, we've been going there for years so am familiar with this lady), "Did you check in online?!?!!" Not even a "Hello", first. I saw my son's name as #1 on the list, with one other name below his. I pointed to his name and said, "Yes, we did." Her response was, "Well, we close in 3 minutes!" and she did so with extra huff and a whiny tone in her voice. I tried to explain to her that I was able to check-in online without any notice of it being too late. She couldn't hear me or understand me because of the obnoxiously loud music that was playing and she was trying to shoo out two other customers. We left, without a haircut, and will not be returning. EVER. I understand about adhering to closing times, and it gets difficult, and you need to draw a line at times. However, the way she handled it and communicated with me and my son was totally inappropriate, especially in the position she's in. I've worked in customer service and the food industry several years. I've seen my share of uppity customers and listened to their demands, etc. This was not the case on my end. If she would've kindly explained they were closing and maybe asked if we could come back the next day, I would've happily done so. Instead, she treated us like we were the biggest bother to her and we ruined her day. Little does she know, I'm a very, very generous tipper, and would've been especially generous knowing they were accommodating us above and beyond. I will thank her for one thing, and one thing only. She provided a great opportunity for me to reiterate to my 16 year old son that the way she treated us is NOT how we do it in our family. Needless to say, he already has more class and people skills than she obviously possesses. read more

Do not have Peg cut your hair at the Great Clips in Forest Lake. She was doing such a bad job that I left with a bad cut because I didn't want to let her touch it anymore. I will be going somewhere else to have it fixed. I have never had such a bad experience in my life. read more

Went in for a trim to get a couple of inches taken off. The receipt said it was Renee who did my trim. When I got home my daughter pointed out to me that my hair was 2 inches longer on the right side than the left. There were several strands in the back that were not even cut at all. I had to have my husband even it up later that evening and he did a way better job than the "trained professional". This is the most basic of basic things to do as a hair stylist. I will not be back and would suggest you save your hair and money and go somewhere else. read more
