1 out of 10 DON'T recommend. The smiles, friendliness, & conversation was marvelous so one star worthy. Service requested NOT met plus added a service. If you DON'T know how to do natural hair of women of color, SAY SO. If you DON'T have the correct curlers, SAY SO. You added an additional service under false pretense. I was so upset & distraught with the service & charge that I left. I didn't want to make a scene. I didn't want to be disrespectful. Learning lesson ask questions BEFORE you sit down. She did such a horrible job, I'm contemplating getting THE BIG CHOP to start over. No photos. I'm embarrassed for her & me. read more

I just got a haircut at Great Clips in Exton. As a new customer, I wasn't sure what to expect. Now I have a haircut that I love and it's exactly what I asked for. Plus I was in and out in 30 minutes. You don't need to go to expensive salons - get a great haircut for a great price at Exton Great Clips. Thank you, Michelle - I'll be back! read more

I mean I don't expect too Much from great clips but man was this the most unpleasant visit I have ever had and will never again come to this location. The stylist here literally rolled her eyes at me that she had To cut my sons hair. She didn't say one word to him the entire time while cutting and also did not do what I said to do as far as a cut. AWFUL EXPERIENCE read more

A brief haircut here which was needed. Great Clips does a fine job of trimming my locks and for $19 including tip, it's hard to go wrong. I do have simple needs for my hair and they are able to meet them here. Today, no wait at 11:30 AM on a weekday which was nice. But they do have an app that allows you to check in when you're on the way and that puts you in the line for the next available stylist. The young lady who cut my hair today did a good job and I have no complaints. It's A-OK. [Review 10405 overall, 172 of 2019.] read more

RUN!!! If you're scared to have your neighbors kid to cut your hair, this is the equivalent. There was zero technical ability used, none whatsoever. Rarely do I think a place should shut down, but this is a $5 haircut, at best. First, the comb used on me was used on the last person, and since washing hair is not standard here, whatever grease and product was on anyone else that was there before me, was put into my hair too. My hair was sprayed down to almost damp. It was still dry-ish. When she cut the hair she went straight against my back, and just eyed it up to see if it looked even. When doing layers, she combed each section like normal, but when cutting she didn't hold the hair taut with her fingers, so it didn't cut evenly and each cut was cut at a curve. In case you're not already scared away, here it comes. I asked for a little framing around my face. She took all the starting near my ears and brought it forward (so about 1/3 of my head on each side) and then asked about the length I wanted. After we agreed, she cut across my chest on an angle. On the left side she went from down to up towards my face. On the right side she went from my face, down. Then she asked me how it looked, and if it looked even to me. She never took any pieces from both sides and compared them. I had to do that! My hair isn't even, and I didn't want her cutting anymore so I was pleasant enough and ran out of there. As with most hair places, when you ask for a small amount they end up cutting more. I said an inch or two, and lost 4" of length. My hair used to reach my butt. Now it reaches my bra. read more

Do Not Go Here. Asked for curtain bangs, wiith angled cut fringe around the face as well as long layers in the back. I got uneven bangs, uneven frame around the face and a few wisps of a layers in the back. Chopped off over 2 inches when I asked for an inch. Basically, I got a mullet. Manager said it was my fault for not understanding what curtain bangs are. I pointed out that it was also uneven, she said she couldn't see any unevenness. Apparently, the customer is to blame. We scheduled an appointment online for our 3-year-old daughter, but our experience was very disappointing. The person who cut her hair did a very uneven job, making it look terrible. It seems like anyone could have done a better job. I don't believe the staff at this location are qualified professional stylists. We've never had such a bad experience at other locations. Now, we have to take her to another salon to fix her hair. read more

I took both boys today for the end of the school year haircuts and it was the biggest mistake! My 8-year-old left crying and the 14-year-old not talking to me. I requested no more than an inch be taking off my oldest and at least 3in were chopped off. They are both now very upset as well as embarrassed. I couldn't even tell you the stylist's name because she didn't introduce herself. The hair is not only a lot shorter, but very uneven. Just bad all around. read more

Horrible experience! despite showing the haircut (light bangs) and just trimming was the request. the hairstylist there did a poor job and completely different cut. It seemed like she intentionally did this. as the fact remains after explaining in detail and showing the picture so that she understood stood. the outcome was a way different and uneven haircut. read more

I can't even believe I didn't read the reviews before coming to this place. My son asked for long on the top and short on the sides. Basically, 5 clipper on top and 3 clipper on the sides. The hairstylists didn't listen or speak to my son and just buzzed his hair. He was so upset...I know it's hair and it will grow back but to not be listened to at all??? The stylist appeared to be on drugs and I called Great Clips and they said the owner will contact me. I'm still waiting. read more

I wrote the company today as this is THE WORST PLACE WE HAVE EVER BEEN. My son is scarred for life. Good morning. I want to first start by saying that my kids have been going to Hair Cuttery for years and we stopped in here because we were shopping in Main Street Exton with our four kids. Also, my son Ethan Hayes absolutely is petrified of haircuts. He is so scared and shy and when he got his haircut at your establishment Saturday he had almost an unbelievable experience. You can look up his stylist (I forget her name) but she was so unbelievably unprofessional and just down right mean to my super shy son that I felt the need to write this so you can be aware. She would scream things at him like "HOLD YOUR HEAD STILL" and "STOP IT" just because she was actually hurting him because she was using the clippers so hard. And the worst part, the haircut ISSSSS AWFUL!!!!!! I am so sickened at your salon and felt like you should know. I want nothing from you but do yourself a favor and take a look at that person and if you are smart you will make her understand her awful attitude and what it did to a little 9 yo boy Sat. -Wesley Hayes is my name and my son is Ethan Hayes. read more

The only place where you leave looking worse than you entered. Wish I could give 0 stars.

i don't understand how they fuck up my cut everytime. today i said "just around my ears" and i end up getting a full haircut for 30 mins.

I have uncut hairs sticking out everywhere. She spent about 3-4 minutes tops cutting my hair.

I've never written a Yelp review before. I signed up today *just* so I could write this one-star review. Look, the Great Clips haircuts are decent. They're about what you'd expect for a price tag in the mid-teens. Won't break the bank, but nothing to write home about. Not good, not bad, just decent. But the customer service? Godawful. Wretched. Epically bad. At *every* Great Clips location I've gone to. Twice now over the last two years I've signed in using their online system, walked in after the expected wait, let them know I'd arrived -- and then proceeded to wait another *two* *hours*. The first time they insisted it was a "computer glitch" before eventually cutting my hair. I live-tweeted during my wait on Twitter, and after voluntarily exchanging my phone number at Great Clips's request, the manager called me -- not to apologize, but to "hear my side." She offered nothing for their mistake and my lost time, insisting it was *my* fault for "probably not signing in properly." Pro tip, if you're in customer service: You want to do what it takes to make a wronged, hurt customer happy again. If they're willing to be reasonable, apologize and offer them something to show you care. If you don't even apologize, *that* is how you lose business. But I was willing to forgive -- after a fashion. I switched to another Great Clips, five miles away. And tonight, that was where I waited two and a half hours, watching others who'd arrived after I did getting haircuts before I did -- before getting fed up, getting up, and finally just walking out. -- and then signing up for a Yelp account so as to warn everyone, *everyone* to stay away. If you value your time, steer clear of any Great Clips you see. They have systemic customer service issues, issues that will cost you your time and your sanity. I'll never go back, and I'm going to warn everyone I know to steer clear too. I sincerely hope that Great Clips's parent company has an unpleasant, drawn-out, acrimonious bankruptcy someday. If this is how you treat your customers, you deserve nothing less. I used to think all chain haircut places were created roughly equal. Lesson learned. read more

I would highly recommend avoiding this place if you are trans. They are incredibly dismissive, and they will consistently ask you if you know what you're doing or if you understand the haircut you are getting. read more

I am a big fan of the Great Clips Exton loctaion. My family and I, are regular customers there. We appreciate Jill as our long time stylist. This Great Clips are always welcoming and do their best to accomplish the cuts and styles want. I would defiantly recommend this place - and Jill as a stylist. read more

I tried to make it work, but I couldn't. Sometimes I get exactly what I wanted, and sometimes I get something roughly close to it. I recently made the decision to stop going for a few reasons. 1) I thought the stylist was joking when she said she would have to add a large fee to the price of my haircut if she used a brush to style my hair. Turns out she wasn't. 2) Each time I go, I specifically ask for a shampoo when I sign in. Each time I go, they start cutting away without the wash, so I need to stop the hairdresser and insist. 3) I've been there several times, and I always ask for a basic layered cut. Only once did I get what I wanted. The other times, I was just glad the hair looked OK. 4) The ambiance of my hairdresser's isn't usually a concern of mine, but this place is crowded and uncomfortable to visit. read more

It's a very decent looking salon at affordable price for men haircut. About barbers, they are little rude and not so experienced. Visited this place so many times, all the times I have noticed my hair was always trimmed uneven. I had to fix them at home by myself. Unfortunately other barbers around here also do the same nasty job for the higher price. May be Exton is cursed with bad barbers. read more

I strongly advise anyone from visiting this location. Stopped by today for a simple hair cut nothing fancy left with what would be called for lack of better words was a butchered head of hair. the woman doing my hair gave me attitude when i was explaining what i wanted and was rude throughout the whole experience. extremely dissatisfied and will not be returning and would advise you to do the same. Very sad that this behavior is aloud and recommend a change of stylist. read more

Normally, I get a very good cut at this Great Clips. Well, today I didn't request a specific stylist and got someone new. Big mistake. Not sure how Great Clips hires their stylists. Next time I'll request someone who can cut hair without blabbering on and on the whole time and not really paying attention to what they are doing. I know Jill is very good and there are other very good stylists as well. read more

After my first experience there I will never go back again. The stylist was rude and they didn't even wash my hair. She ended up making my hair very uneven and I could tell she was rushing. Worst experience.. read more

Never again. I can't believe the so called stylist couldn't understand directions. I told the person to cut my son's hair just like the gentleman who was sitting next to him. She said she understood but complete messed up his hair. I instructed her and stop her and reconfirmed with her through the haircut to tell her exactly what she wasn't doing. At the end his hair looked ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. She had no idea what a fade was, no idea how to cut hair with clippers. His normal haircut back at home takes 15 minutes with a wash and style. You should not be able to cut customer's haircut just because you have a license if you are not capable. read more
