Great Clips - The salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Escondido, California

Not a repeat. The great: Only a few mins wait for a cut. Cut only took a few mins. We were in and out in like 30 mins. The just how it is: Everyone was nice. It's been years since I'd been in a great clips. Back when it was 6.99. Now it's $20-23. That's just the increased cost of things now. Plus $5 tip. Reviews I thought it was for women n kids but only men were getting their hair cut. No recent photos but reviews recently seemed great. The bad: Asked if the example photos we had were possibly for my daughter's hair type. Thick. Straight. And added we don't have curling irons or any products. Is this an easy style? Was told Yes and that she could do it. Ok great so she got started. Again very nice ladies working here. After finished my daughter covered in hair I was a bit surprised how the cut looked. I asked if there's something we need to know. Advice on how to obtain the example look. She responded well her hair is just so thick. As if to say no. I asked if the starting hair cut was a problem, she said no, only one small hidden area was too short but she said it was hidden so not an issue. So I'm not sure why she cut her hair so short and boxy. She thinned it a little. But if this cut isn't possible with thick hair, a simple Not recommended would have been nice instead of yes then attempt then act like it's great and when I ask about getting it to look like the example then say oh it's just too thick. No other suggestions on how to fix it or alternative cuts, just nada. Also no clean up of the hair at all, I remember being brushed off a bit after cuts and the place we use to go always cleaned up the hair. There was sooo much hair on my daughter's shirt n face. We cleaned her off in the parking lot. I still tipped 25% because again, she was nice and can cut better than we can and it's just rough financially for everyone, so I tip. Not sure how to fix this. We stink at being assertive so my daughter just said "it's fine." We spent the evening watching tutorials on how to fix it but seems growing it back out and maybe asking a few places their options for her hair type is the best solution. Not a repeat. read more

The employees here are great! They work hard and have all been very personable. You can check in online which helps set expectations for wait times. They are a casual and quick service salon. The app does provide coupons sometimes which can really lower the price. The facility is clean and ADA accessible. read more

Great place for good quick haircuts. They fixed my toddler boys hair after his first haircut ever was botched so bad at Sharkey's. I think our stylists name at Great Clips was Diana. She was super nice and friendly, and she was great with my 2 year old. She fixed his hair and did an amazing job given the state of his hair when we arrived. My husband also comes here for haircuts every month. read more

They're not very friendly here, rushed, mostly silent. Cut is okay but just feels like an odd culture here, I don't think anyone really enjoys this place. Won't return. read more

It was as requested. Not more or less. Really fast and did the job expected. Would consider again.

Gave it 5 stars in 2014. Just wanted to update. I am a long time customer now. They keep a lot of their stylists for a long time so it becomes a very familiar and safe pick. Now my son also gets his cuts here as well. Cheryl and Truc are fantastic. Myeisha is great. Olga will also hook you up with a great cut. Definitely recommend using the app. Online check-in will let you know how long you will be waiting. You can check in multiple people at once. read more

If I Could Give It Less Then A Star I Would Forget Calling Them They Dont Like To Pick Up Phone See Picture Were I Called Them 15 Times And Nada. Great Clips - Proof - Hair Salons Near Me - Escondido, California

My wife called two weeks in advance to make an appointment to do her hair for our wedding day. The woman on the phone MADE AN APPOINTMENT. The woman on the phone read it back to us, confirming we had an appointment for 1 PM on 3-18-2023. Well, the day of our wedding comes, I drop my wife off at her hair appointment here, and when she comes inside with her dad to get her hair done, they tell her they don't make appointments here, that this is a walk-in hair salon only. My wife tells the person at the counter that an appointment was made and confirmed over the phone, and the person at the counter proceeds to tell her rudely to sit down and wait in a 40 MINUTE WAIT. The employees were very rude. I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE EVER. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL. NO HELP FIXING A MISTAKE THEY MADE. VERY DISRESPECTFUL EMPLOYEES. I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. read more

She took me right in and fixed my hair. The price list on Yelp which is from Great Clips is way out of date. A Sr. cut is now $19. There's a lot of parking here. read more

Review is for Myeisha at this location. Always does a killer job, is really friendly, and works fast without sacrificing quality. I will always go to this location becuase of her absolute to give a great fade haircut. The rest of the people at this location are hit and miss read more

Give it up for Cheryl here! Had a really bad haircut at another establishment prior to my visit that needed immediate attention that I had no hopes of being fixable. Although it wasnt the haircut I had originally sought after, she was able to work with me and gave me a cut im very happy with! She made sure I was able to see everything she was doing and explained and got permission from me before cutting anything. What started as a disaster ending being a surprisingly good look for me and she was able to do it very quickly and on top of that was fun to talk to and really made me feel comfortable in a crisis situation. Long story short I'm going to be going to her for my cuts from now on and it's great to have found a great hairstylist locally. Can't recommend her enough! read more

Not AT ALL what I asked for. It's butchered.. literally butchered all over my head. I start a new job tomorrow. Worst haircut I've ever received. I need to go buy a wig.. it's an inch to an inch and a half ago over the back of my head! Sides don't match! Thanks for the disaster. Stay away from this place! read more

I needed a place nearby that took walk-ins.. I'm very glad I found this place. Mandy gave me my cut and it was truly an awesome experience. She was so nice. Easy to talk to. Funny and absolutely comfortable to be around. She understood what I wanted and I look so darn cute!! I'll definitely be back. You should definitely go see her! read more

10/1/21 Friday, i walk in to ask questions since its my first time i need to get information regarding haircuts for my child. The lady came up no greetings just starting to ask did i made appointment online i response i did not and she start asking personal questions about my phone number i thought that was inappropriate. Instead it would have been better to welcome me and ask what is my needs. Poor customer service!!!!! Need improvement in customer service. read more

They are very kind but the ladies hand kept shaking while cutting my hair. Not a good job on my hair definitely not coming back

Check in on-line ahead using the website so the 35 minute wait time became zero wait time. This place gets busy with many walk-ins at times. Olga was my stylist this time and she did a great job as she has before. She is highly experienced, friendly and also bi-lingual be back soon ! Also: prices here are reasonable compared to other salons and the hours are convenient. read more

Second time here! Still hesitant as usual. The girl who cut my hair last time (Lynn) was not here today. So I went praying I would get the same service as last time. I had requested Brit (Brittney) that was just clocking in since I seen her name on here with a great review! I absolutely love my cut once again. I had her take the back up to my shoulders with an A-line front with a little layer only on the bottom. I came home straighten it and its perfectly texturized. My hair is curly and when straightened itll look super choppy if not texturized. Both girls did amazing! Now I have two ladies I can turn to. Thanks so much! read more

Cant even explain how devastated I am of how my hair came out I wasted 22 dollars plus a 5 dollar tip. I asked the girl to cut 1inch off and give me layers but keep the length close to what I originally came in with. Came out with a mullet basically hair super short. My hair is a mess. Everything I told her went in 1 ear and out the other. She basically did what ever she wanted and ruined my hair. Don't even recommend coming here. She only judged my hair and didn't ask for opinion. Wish I could give it a -1 review. Heartbroken. read more

This place is super convenient for me when I take my teenager to go get his haircut. We never have an appointment we are always walk-ins and I don't think I've ever been there longer than 20 minutes. The prices are super reasonable they'll add you to their system. Once in awhile in the mail you'll get a discount for your next haircut for like 7 bucks. My son really likes going there he'll tell the stylist how he wants his hair and they do it with no issues. Place always looks clean and if you're into product for your hair they have a pretty good variety to choose from for purchase. I recommend this place! read more

Great Clips - I love me some deals - Hair Salons Near Me - Escondido, California

Olga Olga Olga.... I always call in first to make sure Olga is there. I found Great Clips about 2 yrs ago thru a coupon I received in the mail. Olga called me up and I explained to her that I have thin hair and like my hair scissor cut. No problem she said. Well she gave me the best haircut that I have had in years and I have been going back to Great Clips and requesting Olga ever since. Olga is also fun and very easy to talk to. We all have had haircuts before where there was total silence the whole time. Some like that but I don't! Well that is my recommendation and don't forget to use the Great Clips phone app for check in. I feel like aa VIP everytime when I walk right past all the people waiting for their haircuts! read more

Worst hair cut I ever had didn't know how to layer my hair n the front to shape my face tried to cut side bangs and cut too much

They don't pay attention to what clients come in and give the return client the wrong service. I checked in online and still had to wait.

Came here for a cut and shampoo on work break. Checked in online and it was a pretty quick visit, maybe 25 mins. The gal that cut my hair was nice but I could tell was rushing everything. It wasn't a bad cut but I wouldn't give it 4 or 5 stars. Very robotic and not warm. Can't beat the prices here though. I would give it a shot here, just don't expect all out crazy good service. Keep in mind it was only the one gal that cut my hair so I can't speak for every stylist here. read more

Affordable and friendly! We LOVE Cheryl! My boys will only have her cut their hair. We have been coming here for about 10 years. Cheryl is wonderful and has a huge following. Failure, just failure. Not sure I've been here before. But I needed a haircut and thought that if I had the same people would not be there. They weren't. They butchered my hair looks bad in all directions and If I could give it a zero star review I would I don't even want to go outside now since I have this bad a haircut left here at my shirt and it's still in my shirt today very bad hairdresser she said she's gonna takeoff an inch and a half and proceed to do almost 3 inches looks like I have a mullet now really sucks all I can do now is either shave the sides to have a mullet or keep it the way it is read more

Just got my boyfriends hair done. Lady rushed the entire cut . Not at all even or clean, looks like a kindergartener cut his hair. Definitely won't be going back and would highly recommend to chose a different salon the older lady here should definitely retire. Always a great haircut, done quickly, and for a reasonable price. Beats the favored barbers in town that have long wait times and higher prices. My new go-to place for a haircut. read more

This place is ridiculous. Before they put anyone on the floor the should get proper training on consultations and getting to know what overall look the clients wants. The client should be happy with what he/she walks out with. A family member walked in looking for a medium fade with a trim with shears on top. He walked out with an uneven on both sides (one side higher than the other) high and tight. It was not even blended and there was patches of hair left in the back. It looked liked she tried to achieve a Mohawk that was too wide? I can't even tell you what kind of style that was... It was NOT a proper haircut. The stylist should be held accountable of this improper work and be educated on consultations. I mean if you can't do the haircut or aren't comfortable with the kind of cut just say so. Don't have a customer walking out with a crappy haircut. "Crappy" is just being nice. read more

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. I went in for a basic trim. 4 + inches later.....Half of my hair is layered incorrectly, choppy like someone to a hacksaw to it. Great Clips - Now I get to spend $65 at a salon to fix the butchered mess they created. - Hair Salons Near Me - Escondido, California

we were driving by and saw they had a sale going on today so we stopped in and had my 2 boys get their hair cut. We got Cheryl and she did an amazing job, she was so great with my kids... They really liked her and felt great about themselves with their fresh new cuts. We recently stopped going to the Country Barbershop because their prices were outrageous and we were worried about the quality of cut we were going to get at a regular salon but we were beyond satisfied and impressed with how great Cheryl cut our boys hair.... Not to mention my boys hair texture and styles are difficult to work with. I highly recommend Cheryl at Great Clips. read more

First of all before I start this review I know we have a pandemic going on. And I know that there are certain precautions to be obeyed. However I don't have COVID-19 but I have a cough due to Bronchitis. I was in the salon yesterday needing to get my haircut along with my mothers the receptionist who I spoke with told me to leave without questioning what was wrong with my coughing. I called the shop to try to explain what the situation was, however they refused to help me due to my coughing. As I said I don't have COVID-19 but the fact that they refused to give me a service along with my mother is considered discrimination. I am very upset with great clips salon I feel that the corporate office should investigate in the service that I received. Shame on great clips for refusing to give me service and shame on great clips for turning me away due to my coughing because of bronchitis. read more

Went in today for a hair cut. I asked for an inch off since I was planning to keep my hair length long. I had asked for only an inch off. I had also made it very clear in the beginning. I had asked for long layers. Once she(amber) cut it was to late. Very upset since I wanted to keep my hair length long and now it is too short. Plus hair was all over my clothes. Not planning on coming back. read more

I came in at 5:15 on Friday evening, told me it was 10 min. wait so I got some pancake mix from Vons.. then ended up waiting an additional 25 minutes. Should've gotten some tacos or something. I'd say 2 stars, maybe 3 at most for the establishment, but 4 stars for Chelsei, the lady with short blondish hair. She was quick and definitely knew what she was doing. No time wasted on small talk which is what I like. Anyway, I don't think I would trust anyone there besides Chelsei. Y'all can observe while you are waiting and decide to bounce if you feel like. Update: August 2017 and I still go here. I have short wavy hair and I get it cut often. One lady messed it up last time so I knew I had to go back to Chelsei only. She takes her time and knows how to make it look good based on the shape of your face. Short haired men or women, you should definitely go to her read more

This place is a well-oiled machine. I showed up and was 5th on the waitlist. After 10 minutes, I was called back and sitting in a chair.
