Still waiting for my bangs to grow out after Ron cut them too short. I was here several weeks ago for a haircut and wanted a bob with a full blunt bang. I even had a picture that I showed him. Not only was Jessica was quick to answer my call but she really went above and beyond. Sadly, I need to update my review. After only about a week. Why? Because a stylist from the salon decided to harass me on Yelp. I'm going to stick with my original 3 star review of my initial experience. However, this update might speak to a culture at this salon that I wouldn't have expected. A few days after posting my original review, I got a nasty message from a Yelp profile with no reviews and no pictures. Just a name "Jessica S". Because I have a brain and know how to use it I decided to look up the salon on the gram and see if there was a "Jessica S" associated with the salon. Sure enough, one "Jessica S" on the follow list. So I confronted Jessica on Yelp..."Are you Jessica S**** (redacted for privacy)?" She replied with another nasty message but interestingly changed her name on Instagram. If that's not a dead giveaway, I'm not sure what is. I told her to apologize for being rude or I will update my review to tell this very story. Rather than be accountable she blocked me, so I'm here holding to my word. The stylists here are independent, and this review might not reflect a stylist you enjoy and I completely get that. Nor do I want to detract from other women's businesses. However, this was a childish way to handle an issue that wasn't even her issue. She wasn't my stylist, I have no idea who she is, she doesn't own the salon...she just thought she'd take it upon herself to try to bully me into removing a review that was more than fair. It did make me wonder if this is why there are so many positive reviews of this salon. I hope this was a one off from someone with an axe to grind and not indicative of the overall vibe there. I have no idea why people take this approach to reviews, it's so much easier to simply put yourself in the customers shoes and be understanding. Sad. read more

I have been getting my hair extensions and color done by Jessica for about 6 months now and I couldn't be happier! I went in with terrible tape in extensions that were ruining my hair and making it impossible to grow my natural hair out. She spoke to me about my hair goals and recommended switching to sew in extensions as it would be more natural and less damaging. I will never go back to tape in extensions! I probably won't ever be coming back here, I've been a client to the salon for many years but my favorite stylist left the salon. I tried another stylist and she kind of totally F'd up my hair. I'm still trying to fix it from what she did. I did tell her I wasn't happy with my hair while in the chair and she tried to fix it but she just ended up frying and damaging my hair. When I was in the salon I thought it looked ok but once I got in my car in natural light I was honestly mortified probably one of the worst my hair has ever looked after leaving the salon. The lady was very nice but she did not do a good consultation at all she told me to send her a picture of what I wanted which I did and that was it. My hair came out NOTHING like the picture I sent her at all. So after leaving the salon and letting her know I was still extremely unhappy with my hair she offered to fix it the next day, but after contemplating for a couple hours I decided to go to a different stylist at a different salon, and I'm so glad I did. When I went to the second stylist she explained to me certain things that were wrong with my hair that the previous stylist did like putting PERMANENT color in my hair that I will never be able to fix on certain pieces. My new stylist did an amazing job at doing a color correction which I'm still in the process of fixing weeks later. I also noticed that Margarita undeniably fried off half of my hair. I left with so much breakage and density lost. Once I got my hair fixed I let her know that I had to pay over $300 to fix what she did to my hair and she agreed to give me half off of the original price which came out to $150. So $500 gone in 2 days and permanent damage that won't be able to be fixed till my hair grows out for probably about 2 years. I will put pictures of what I wanted and what I ended up getting. Even in the pictures I'd doesn't show all the damage she did and how much hair density I lost. As well as about 5 inches in length due to a chemical cut. read more

This review is long overdue (I went to Rosana in August). I had to switch stylists. Don't get me wrong- if you are looking for someone in San Diego (Point Loma specifically) I have the perfect person for you. However, with gas prices being what they are and family time being so limited, I just couldn't bring myself to schlep down there anymore. Rosana came highly recommended to me from a friend who has amazingly gorgeous curly hair. Her hair always looked great, so I had to see Rosana. I have wavy hair- not curly. I called a few days before the weekend and requested a Saturday appointment. Easy. She was free and the appointment time worked perfectly for me. She was a few minutes behind, but I was absolutely okay with that. I saw the attention she gave her previous client so I knew I would get the same attention. Rosana listened to what I wanted, asked questions about what I do with my hair, and then encouraged me to embrace my waves instead of fighting them all the time. A light bulb went on! Really?! My old hair stylist of 4 years went on maternity leave and decided not to return to work so I went to Yelp to search for hair stylists in my area. Low and behold I came across Imana Sky Salon and noticed that out of 136 reviews there was a five star status! Looking through the pics I noticed a lot of great before and afters and decided to give it a try. I called and left a message and received a call back the next day. It had been 10 months since I last had my hair cut or colored and to be honest my before pic is a bit embarrassing that I let it get so bad! Cortney did an amazing job! I showed her two pictures of what I wanted - some blonde highlights and some low lights and she went to work. I have a lot of hair, very thick and long and she never once complained about how much hair I have (much appreciated). Cortney is great to talk to and very friendly so the 3.5 hours went by fast for me. She ended up cutting off 4 inches because of how bad my ends desperately needed it. I seriously could not be more thrilled! Cortney did an even better job than I could have imagined!
