I made an appointment with Ashley and was impressed from the moment we met. She was welcoming and took the time to discuss my style and how I wore my hair. It had grown out of shape and was difficult to manage. She assessed my needs based on my facial shape, then recommended changes. She washed, cut, applied products, then diffused my hair. The natural curl can make my hair challenging to style, but it looked great when she finished. I had one side that seemed to not lay right, she took a bit more off, then it was perfect. Holy smokes! Anthony typically cuts my hair and I've never had a complaint. This time I wanted to dye my hair lighter and he truly went above and beyond with the care, level of attention, and thoughtfulness throughout the whole process. I brought my daughter here to get her part of her hair blended with a midnight purple color. It was her first time getting her hair colored. Her stylist was Anthony, and he did a superb job! This past weekend my twin daughters and I had an impromptu visit with each other in Escondido CA (we are from TN). My girls asked me if as part of their visit they could get their hair done together. I was a little reluctant only because we were not familiar with the area and if you are like me, finding a great hairstylist you feel totally comfortable with is like finding the perfect husband. 99% of women would not head out to a blind date and know or say ahead of time "this is gonna be my forever person" but in this particular situation I was willing to take a chance. My girls both wanted a cut and color with specific details. As they showed me what they wanted my anxiety climbed to a pretty high degree. Two women recommended Elements Hair Salon so I made the call. I spoke with Maria who was very kind and accommodating as the day of our appointment would be on Valentine's Day and the salon was super busy. She managed to fit both girls in literally last minute and at the same time! I also told her we only had a 2 hour time frame and Maria told me she could make it happen! We walked into the salon and she greeted us. As the girls showed pictures to Maria of their hearts desire she studied the photos and told us exactly what to expect. She was so transparent given one of my girls already had color in her hair. Maria told her there was a possibility the highlights she wanted may not be exactly as the picture. My other daughter was a little nervous about her maiden voyage with getting her hair colored and Maria explained to her that she would use the natural highlights in her hair as a starting point to create a really natural look but give her a little more dimension. I want to tell you, this was an incredible experience for all three of us! Maria was confident and creative. She treated my 16 year old girls with kindness and made them feel at ease with their choices. The final product for both girls was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and the joy on their faces was priceless! The look I was going for was a blonde balayage with highlights of reddish copper throughout while leaving the ends fully blonde. I have very long hair so it was definitely a time consuming process. I walked in with hair up to my waist. I asked for a hair cut and showed two reference photos of what I wanted and expected. I didn't want my hair too short but somehow the stylist did not care or listen. I walked out with short hair that doesn't even hit my shoulders. I wanted my hair past my shoulders. I did not ask for bangs. My bangs were not even one side is longer than the other. I went in hoping to walk out happy and instead am devastated. I am sure they have some good stylist at the salon. I have been growing out my hair for the past 2.5 years (partly not by choice) due to keeping my hair long for my wedding (2018!) because it was recommended to keep my hair long for the wedding. A year passes afterwards and life/work schedules conflict with getting stuff done. One of those "stuff" was to get a haircut. Well I was feeling anxious about getting my hair cut from someone I didn't know, and that none of my close friends had gone to prior. After a ton of photos and Yelp reviews I decided on Elements Salon and requested an appointment through Yelp. Well the app said responses are generally speedy and within 30 minutes and boy they didn't lie. I got a response within 10 minutes and Maria said they had openings that day! Sweet! So I called to schedule the appointment and get my info down. Another phone call was made shortly to see if I could come in earlier due to how long my hair was (I had sent in a photo about my current state of hair) and yes, I went earlier than planned. Just so I don't bore you, I wanted a layered asymmetrical lob thinned out on the bottoms with a left part. My hair is naturally very thick on the bottom as opposed to the top, and it was virgin hair from the last time I cut it--literally no chemical processes or heat used (couldn't even hold a curl for 5 mins). Maria gave me a cut that I asked, gave me hair tips, product referrals, wash and blow dry, and styled my hair as well. Wow. Mind blown over a speedy response and awesome experience. Currently using the shampoo introduced to me and my hair has never felt so much lighter and cleaner-- not weighed down by any products--and no flakes! My wavy hair responds to more curl and stays curled with the help of the styling cream. Maria, thank you so much for everything--the tips, advice, and the banging haircut. Receptionist is really nice but man were we disappointed in Maria's cut and overall care of the quality of cut and service she provided. There was no style or volume and the length on the top of the crown wasn't long like in the picture provided. For $50 I had hoped for more, in general just extremely disappointed. ***Update: Multiple pictures were provided to give a better understanding of the cut desired and it was clear from the beginning the length. Additionally, probably not best to call a client tell them that they shouldn't change their minds and then when the client starts explaining just hang up. Clients change their minds all the time on what they are looking to have done and may decide against a color, it's called customer service. At the end of the day it just felt like pay back for adjusting the service, glad hair grows back but I will never come here again. read more

First ever review: This would've been my first time getting my hair done and I was excited to start my journey and willing to pay what I needed to to maintain it now that I can finally afford it. Made an appointment in the time slot that I had available before leaving town for a huge birthday weekend. Confirmed my appointment the morning of and got a heartless text stating that my appointment had been canceled. No apologies, no "sorry for the inconvenience" nothing. Within 30min of posting my review i got 3 calls and 8 texts during my ultrasound appointment. She says I didn't confirm but here's the initial conversation.. it's pretty clear that The appointment was set, anyone else have trouble understanding that the appointment was confirmed? Spent almost my whole lunch break on a Friday to find a salon that could fit me in last minute for Saturday. I needed to get my hair done for the marine ball, and it slipped my mind to make an appointment ahead of time (working full time + student at National University). Anyway, after calling 5 different places I saw on yelp I found this place! I called and Ashley was able to accommodate me into her schedule for the very next day! The salon has a very cute boutique style and it was very clean. I noticed the ladies constantly cleaning and organizing once they were done with their clients. What I also really liked about this place was that everyone was so nice and helpful. I asked Ashley if she could braid my bangs and she asked one of the ladies to help her like last time and the other lady was so sweet and waited to see if Ashley needed help. Ashley did a great job on my hair and I even learned some tips from her on how to keep my hair healthy and tips for styling my hair! Ashley also made sure she included my opinions throughout the whole styling process, which I really appreciated. I told her in the beginning that I trust whatever she thinks would look best on me but it was very nice of her to explain to me what she was doing and if I liked it. She also didn't hesitate or have any problems when I wanted something a little different. Overall I felt very comfortable here and I think that's super important! I was concerned with my hair falling since my hair is so thick but Ashley made sure it wasn't going to and secured my hair with lots of pins!
