It had grown out of shape and was difficult to manage. She assessed my needs based on my facial shape, then recommended changes. She washed, cut, applied products, then diffused my hair. He has autism and haircuts have always been incredibly difficult for him. Holy smokes! Anthony typically cuts my hair and I've never had a complaint. This time I wanted to dye my hair lighter and he truly went above and beyond with the care, level of attention, and thoughtfulness throughout the whole process. The look I was going for was a blonde balayage with highlights of reddish copper throughout while leaving the ends fully blonde. I have very long hair so it was definitely a time consuming process. I walked in with hair up to my waist. I asked for a hair cut and showed two reference photos of what I wanted and expected. I didn't want my hair too short but somehow the stylist did not care or listen. I walked out with short hair that doesn't even hit my shoulders. I wanted my hair past my shoulders. I did not ask for bangs. My bangs were not even one side is longer than the other. I went in hoping to walk out happy and instead am devastated. I am sure they have some good stylist at the salon. But the person who cut my hair did a horrible job. The stylist Maria who seems to be the owner was friendly but unfortunately my hair cut was horrible!! I have been growing out my hair for the past 2.5 years (partly not by choice) due to keeping my hair long for my wedding (2018!) because it was recommended to keep my hair long for the wedding. A year passes afterwards and life/work schedules conflict with getting stuff done. One of those "stuff" was to get a haircut. Well I was feeling anxious about getting my hair cut from someone I didn't know, and that none of my close friends had gone to prior. After a ton of photos and Yelp reviews I decided on Elements Salon and requested an appointment through Yelp. Well the app said responses are generally speedy and within 30 minutes and boy they didn't lie. I got a response within 10 minutes and Maria said they had openings that day! Sweet! So I called to schedule the appointment and get my info down. Another phone call was made shortly to see if I could come in earlier due to how long my hair was (I had sent in a photo about my current state of hair) and yes, I went earlier than planned. Just so I don't bore you, I wanted a layered asymmetrical lob thinned out on the bottoms with a left part. My hair is naturally very thick on the bottom as opposed to the top, and it was virgin hair from the last time I cut it--literally no chemical processes or heat used (couldn't even hold a curl for 5 mins). Maria gave me a cut that I asked, gave me hair tips, product referrals, wash and blow dry, and styled my hair as well. Wow. Mind blown over a speedy response and awesome experience. Currently using the shampoo introduced to me and my hair has never felt so much lighter and cleaner-- not weighed down by any products--and no flakes! My wavy hair responds to more curl and stays curled with the help of the styling cream. Maria, thank you so much for everything--the tips, advice, and the banging haircut. There was no style or volume and the length on the top of the crown wasn't long like in the picture provided. For $50 I had hoped for more, in general just extremely disappointed. ***Update: Multiple pictures were provided to give a better understanding of the cut desired and it was clear from the beginning the length. Additionally, probably not best to call a client tell them that they shouldn't change their minds and then when the client starts explaining just hang up. Clients change their minds all the time on what they are looking to have done and may decide against a color, it's called customer service. At the end of the day it just felt like pay back for adjusting the service, glad hair grows back but I will never come here again. read more

I came to do a blowout for prom, and was told that I couldn't do that regardless of the style of my hair. I ended up requesting curls. The curls came out nice, however she didn't add any protectant spray and rushed on the curls. The vibe was obviously off and she seemed annoyed the whole time. First ever review: This would've been my first time getting my hair done and I was excited to start my journey and willing to pay what I needed to to maintain it now that I can finally afford it. Made an appointment in the time slot that I had available before leaving town for a huge birthday weekend. Spent almost my whole lunch break on a Friday to find a salon that could fit me in last minute for Saturday. I needed to get my hair done for the marine ball, and it slipped my mind to make an appointment ahead of time (working full time + student at National University). Anyway, after calling 5 different places I saw on yelp I found this place! I called and Ashley was able to accommodate me into her schedule for the very next day! The salon has a very cute boutique style and it was very clean. I noticed the ladies constantly cleaning and organizing once they were done with their clients. What I also really liked about this place was that everyone was so nice and helpful. I asked Ashley if she could braid my bangs and she asked one of the ladies to help her like last time and the other lady was so sweet and waited to see if Ashley needed help. Ashley did a great job on my hair and I even learned some tips from her on how to keep my hair healthy and tips for styling my hair! Ashley also made sure she included my opinions throughout the whole styling process, which I really appreciated. I told her in the beginning that I trust whatever she thinks would look best on me but it was very nice of her to explain to me what she was doing and if I liked it. She also didn't hesitate or have any problems when I wanted something a little different. Overall I felt very comfortable here and I think that's super important! I was concerned with my hair falling since my hair is so thick but Ashley made sure it wasn't going to and secured my hair with lots of pins! I came in for a long bob haircut and blonde balayage last Feb. / Mar. I was about a month away from having my son and I wanted a fresh and low maintenance style to ring in the mom life. As I search for a stylist I couldn't help but review the photos from my last experience. PROS: - The owner Maria accommodated my short time table, as I was planning on a maternity shoot the following day. - She did not cut my bangs, as I was going to be taking photos and she did not want them to be too short. Offered that I came back to have them cut afterwards. - Maria was quick to bring me back in to have my hair redone free of charge. - I was given a 25% discount on products (if I purchased all that she recommended - perhaps a con?) CONS: - My hair was wrecked - clearly. Banded, blotchy and the color was a disaster. It was definitely not as light as I asked for. She excused the wrong color by telling me she didn't want to leave the chemicals on me for too long as I was pregnant. - Maria was clearly busy, having her assistant complete my wash, tone and style. Totally understandable as she took me in on short notice. However, she lectured the assistant who was doing my toning, when I complained about the lack of blending, telling her that she needed to blend the toner better in order to fix the poor bleach job... - After I was invited back to have my bangs cut and color corrected, my hair was just slightly better. It was rather reddish and it did not resemble the pictures I had provided. Unfortunately correcting it involved putting a lot more bleach on my hair and it still could not fix the banding completely. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed with my hair that I cancelled my maternity shoot and kept my hair in a bun the majority of my baby shower. read more

I'm not a particularly vocal person, but Ashley made sure to check in with me throughout the process so that she could embellish according to my desires.
