The vision I had for my hair vs. what the hairdresser offered was slightly different. I'm sure within a few weeks my hair will look fine. Vibe? It wasn't what I prefer. The hairdressers were yelling to each other from across the room and the person cutting my hair was yelling in my ear. I didn't expect a top tier experience, but I was a bit surprised at the lack of care about the customer sitting right there. Oh well, it is what it is.

The owner here is the WORST! She is not a good business woman at all. Instead of incurring business…read morecosts on her own, she prefers to put them on her customers. A few years ago she decided that you could only give cash tips, no more adding them to your credit card. More recently she decided that you have to pay the credit card fees if you are paying with a credit card. Are you serious?!?!?! They are always busy...always. It's not like she is struggling to make ends meet. The fact that she is constantly make the customer come out of pocket to offset her business costs is just annoying. If it wasn't for my hairdresser that I've been going to for a very long time, I would have been out of here a looooonnnnng time ago. There are no perks at all. She doesn't give free samples, no gifts around the holidays, nothing. Just more fees! Now she increased prices on top of the added fees. One time I was given the wrong change. I didn't even realize until I was almost home and I had to drive all the way back because it was a full $10 short. The woman that answers the phone is not kind or friendly. The shampooers are always leaving you soaking wet. Ever since Ricardo left, they've been hard pressed to find a good shampoo person. The parking lot is tiny and an accident waiting to happen. Once my eyebrow waxer left (a long time ago), I decided to just stop getting waxed because the new girl did an awful job and I never bothered trying anyone else. Again, if it wasn't for my actual hairdresser, this place wouldn't have anything going for it. Hopefully the owner can start putting more effort into doing something for her loyal customers before she starts losing more of her hair stylists...and their customers.

Where I come from, once you find a hairstylist that is verbally entertaining, as well as quick and good at their art, you stick with them When I left chicago, I also left my goto male flamboyant hairdresser of 20+ years.... and I am glad to say I wont be needing another hairdresser in the midst of my stay here in the philly area. Upon first arrival, Tressa definitely showed a level of proficiency and quickness that I much appreciate. And also, who doesnt love a hairdresser that is fun to gossip with for the short time youre there! (isnt part of getting your haircut the social aspect?) She runs a nice setup, its clean, has the scent of shampoo flowing through the air, and of course her dogs are just wonderful (when they are there!) The pricing is fair, but you really cant put a value on looking good. When I walk in with my mop-top, I walk out looking like a million bucks. I notice some reviews are posted with some sort of animosity towards the owner, Tressa, and not necessarily the business... I really do recommend making an appointment, especially if you arent into those budget greatclips, supercuts, bo-rics, or simply, if you want a hairdresser that is professional, and good at their art, you really need'nt look any further then here!

However, my most recent visit resulted in a girl (can't remember her name) with blue hair doing a TERRIBLE job. She didn't pull my whole set of bangs forward so she didn't cut them all, and then she literally cut my hair on a slant. When I pulled my hair forward, one side was shorter than the other. I wanted 4" off but because she botched it, my moms friend had to take an additional 1-2" off to straighten it out -- so much shorter than I wanted it now. I went back and got refunded. Another woman I spoke with said that the girl who botched my hair received 3 complaints that day and has been a problem for over 5 months now. She told me the manager (Katie) would call me to follow up and she never did. I'm very very disappointed with the experience and don't expect to go back again.

I've had really good experiences with this Regis location over the years. When my previous hair…read morestylist Lisa-Marie quit, I was back at square one finding someone that I was comfortable with doing my hair. I went through a series of bad hair cuts at other salons. Some of them were quite traumatizing. Finally, I ended up back at Regis and just walked in hoping to get a good stylist. As luck would have it, I got what I'd hoped for. For a little over a year now, Katie has been cutting my hair. She makes helpful suggestions about how I could get it cut, and shows me exactly how much she is taking off. She's willing to keep it simple or do something crazy if I wish. She's also very friendly and I enjoy our conversations while she cuts and styles my hair. During a recent visit to the salon, I asked her to recommend a shampoo as my hair had been feeling rather lifeless. She did, and although it's a shampoo for color-treated hair, which mine is not, it brings out the natural color and shine in my hair. They also do a good job with men's hair. My husband has started coming here as well. He finds that he can get the same cut that he was getting at a much more expensive salon. If you're looking for a new hair stylist, chances are you will find a good one here. I never thought it would be at a hair salon in a mall, but I don't care where it is as long as I walk away happy with my hair. Currently, a women's cut and wash will run you $30 before tip here.
