After collecting quotes from 5 local companies - Great Basin Solar was the best quality offer. The warranty was solid, the employees over the phone were transparent and upfront without the cheese sales fluff, the price wasn't the cheapest but I wanted to make sure the project would start and complete when they detailed in the contract. They handled the whole process, I was only involved when we needed to sign and pay. The install was completed in 2 days because of the size of our system. They were very flexible to work with when discussing the solar design and how it would look from the street. The team that came was very friendly with my kids and animals home. Their installation team was polite and on time. I would recommend this company to my friends every time!

This company sucks! They put on solar panels and then my house burned down. They are horrible, don't ever hire them.

Spoke with their office folks, who sent out a representative to assess the condition, and prepare a strategy to make the system bird proof. I wish I could give 10 stars. There is a good reason their reviews are high…read more Yes, it is a long review, yet there is a lot to mention about Sol-Up. First to say, I know a lot about this stuff. I've been an electronics and software engineering consultant for over 40 years, designing all sorts of electronics such as medical, scientific, high energy, and even solar inverters for many corporate clients. The wife says I over-analyze everything, but I want to make sure there are no regrets when making a big electrical change on the home. Sol-Up did not ask for this review. I contacted 5 companies in the area to ask questions about installing a Tesla PowerWall (whole home backup power). The previous owner had already installed solar panels years ago (a company now out of business). The one place that impressed me most was Sol-Up as the pricing was good and they were smart. More importantly, the initial contact "Matt" knew what he was talking about and had instant answers to many detailed technical questions. Matt smoothly passed me to the project Coordinator (Colleen) whom was always on top of the process and informing me about the status and schedule. They first came to review the situation and gave me pricing. I ordered the PowerWall installation and paid a reasonable small deposit and signed the online agreement. At installation time, I got Fernando and Cody; two young, smart, experienced men whom were confident, careful, respectful, and considerate of the property. A Powerwall is a complicated installation to tie into existing solar production and the electrical panel. They did a fabulous job working in really cold weather. Then David "Handyman" came to patch and paint things to perfectly blend with the wall. Afterwards, Colleen had the building inspector and Roman come together within just two days to make sure everything got approved. No problems and the inspector was pleased. Yea, NV Energy had to put in their 2 cents worth. He came a few days later to inspect to his satisfaction and install the meter. I asked if things were by him. His reply was... "Yes, this is a nice installation, and I wish every company would do this well". There was a small hiccup during operation where the Tesla App wasn't showing the flow of energy properly although everything worked. Joe came out immediately to do a minor reconfiguration of sensors and all was well. Days later, Matt followed up again to see if everything was ok. When there is a power failure, the lights don't even flicker and no indication the power was ever lost or came back on. Just a text message to give an update. Fabulous. Bottom line is that Sol-Up did the best job of any company I have ever had to do a big electrical task. Other companies could learn a lot from their process. When it comes time to upgrade solar panels in the future or to install an additional backup battery, there is no doubt who I would call or recommend. Thanks Sol-Up team.

We were without consistent power other than a portable generator for over 30 days when our batteries, inverter and generator failed. That's when we learned of Shawn and his team. Aspen successfully converted our solar system in the middle of a horrid January, 2023 to a Fortress lithium battery system. Later that year, they installed a new Solark inverter system. On 3/6/25, we lost all power with an alarm on the Solark inverter. i contacted Shawn who put me in touch with his incredible employee, Vince who called within an hour to help troubleshoot the system. He asked me questions to understand the situation and said he would be out to assess and hopefully repair, 3/7/25. Vince arrived and within minutes diagnosed the issue and made the necessary repairs. He even allowed me to video a tutorial on what to do if we are ever faced with a failure again. Before I retired I was in the customer service business for over 40 years and have to say I have never met a vendor and team who cares about their customers in the way that Aspen Electric! Living completely off grid has its challenges, but I rest easier knowing I can count on Shawn, Vince and the other members of the Aspen Electric team! Maree Elana

As I never realized or thought to hire an electrician to ensure everything is OK. Now we are here and out of warranty for bad installation. It cost a pretty penny to make sure the house is going to be safe. The solar electrician we worked with asked why we went to them. Rather than the company that installed our solar. Long story short. They dont have the talent to support. Took a few months of back and forth to get no where. Its a bit disappointing. Sales team are so good to make things look like it was so worth it. Either way. The people are good. For when we worked with them, they had good ratings. Next time, I'll do better res w arch for companies if I proceed to move towards sustainability again. I was hoping it would be a good relation for the long term. We still have them. As the solar panels are awesome. Just sad to know that they didnt really have the appropriate talent or knowledge to ensure they were following best practicing for the electrical aspect. The most important side. So FYI they did installations through a third party and they are G3 solar. Reno Solar is just a sales company with members who probably know nothing g about the installation process. They have been in comms with us. Just overall I give them a 0 for safety. 3 for friendliness. 2 for knowledge. I would rate them lower on yelp, but I did like how they worked with us for the install, prep, and attempt to navigate the wiring concerns that a non solar electrician saw. He wasn't even an expert on solar. He even noticed. Either way. If you want solar. I suggest you go to a different company who has trusted members within the solar installation process and properly skilled electrical members.

Crown Electric and Eli Smith are true pros from start to finish. He talked us through different scenarios and options for everything, offered us simple solutions that enhanced our quality of life without much impact to his bottom line, and was beyond responsive from start to finish. It's important to remember that unforeseen circumstances do come up when working on stuff between your walls, and with Crown on the job you can count on being totally informed and given time to make decisions when they do! Unlike some other contractors who make homeowners feel bad or guilty for sharing their dissatisfaction, Crown Electric asks about everything they did to be sure you're a satisfied client. If you're unhappy with the slightest thing, they're back on the job before you can blink. And above all else, they are accountable for their actions and to your satisfaction. Let's face it. Sadly trustworthy and transparent are not words often associated with contractors and tradespeople for work around your home. Unfortunately more of them try to make a difficult job seem easy on paper, under estimate it to get the work, and then show you how hard it was in the final price, way over the estimate. Pros like Crown Electric are rare. When you find them, you recommend them repeatedly to everyone. So this is my way of send that out there for all of you!
