I really liked them when you are working with them and installing. After having them for sometime. You realize how young and naive you were once. As I never realized or thought to hire an electrician to ensure everything is OK. Now we are here and out of warranty for bad installation. It cost a pretty penny to make sure the house is going to be safe. The solar electrician we worked with asked why we went to them. Rather than the company that installed our solar. Long story short. They dont have the talent to support. Took a few months of back and forth to get no where. Its a bit disappointing. Sales team are so good to make things look like it was so worth it. Either way. The people are good. For when we worked with them, they had good ratings. Next time, I'll do better res w arch for companies if I proceed to move towards sustainability again. I was hoping it would be a good relation for the long term. We still have them. As the solar panels are awesome. Just sad to know that they didnt really have the appropriate talent or knowledge to ensure they were following best practicing for the electrical aspect. The most important side. So FYI they did installations through a third party and they are G3 solar. Reno Solar is just a sales company with members who probably know nothing g about the installation process. They have been in comms with us. Just overall I give them a 0 for safety. 3 for friendliness. 2 for knowledge. I would rate them lower on yelp, but I did like how they worked with us for the install, prep, and attempt to navigate the wiring concerns that a non solar electrician saw. He wasn't even an expert on solar. He even noticed. Either way. If you want solar. I suggest you go to a different company who has trusted members within the solar installation process and properly skilled electrical members. read more

My system was installed quickly and efficiently with absolutely no hiccups. Wanted battery back up so I left a message for Jory and got crickets. Oh well, there's lots of other companies out there. Well, Jory forged my husband's name on a Notice of Completion and funded our loan with Good Leap without our permission. The system was not done or running when Jory forged the Notice of Completion. He lies and is a huge mess. He is not even ashamed of ripping off Senior Citizens, refusing to add me as a half-owner of this house on the loan documents. Male chauvinist, women hater. Wont even say sorry for causing 50k in damages to our house. He won't even pay for the damage he caused by Cody Crummitt Roofing, water damage that Jory hired and is not a licensed contractor, he lied to us saying he was licensed. Both of these businesses should be closed down by the City for Lying and fraud. Please skip Crummitt Roofing and Reno Solar. Too much lying with crappy results. read more

We chose Reno Solar based on their strong reviews and reputation, and while the system is finally up and running, the overall process was far more difficult and drawn out than expected. Our initial contract was signed in the first week of July, but the system did not become fully operational until the last week of February. While I understand that some delays were outside of Reno Solar's control due to county permitting timelines, several delays were avoidable and tied directly to process and communication issues. Most notably, the incorrect build plan was submitted to the permit office. As a result, when the electrician arrived onsite, the sub‑panel had not been approved. This required a new plan submission and led to an additional delay of roughly eight weeks. Once the system was finally approved and ready for use, there was still an error with the panels that required an onsite technician visit, which took another three weeks to resolve. Communication throughout the project was also disappointing. The assigned project manager was inconsistent with updates, and when calling the company directly, we were often placed on hold only to be disconnected. At one point, the project manager asked the business owner to follow up with us directly; however, even after five weeks, we never received that call. Now that the system is working, I'm relieved to finally be at the finish line. That said, given Reno Solar's high ratings, I expected a smoother process and significantly better communication. The product may be solid, but the customer experience left a lot to be desired. read more

Horrible experience! their junior staff were overworked and the management never stepped in to help, ever! even after being asked to jump in and help resolve complex issues, management was nowhere to be found. now that it's been installed, months after they promised, they don't want to provide customer service or install a battery. Reno Solar's service, the install, and the price of my solar system were all beyond my expectations. My power bill is very low.

Overall, I am happy with the salespeople and quality of work; however, I am not happy with the poor follow-through. From the beginning, we were told about the tax rebate and how Reno Solar has a tax guy that will walk us through the process and ensure we "get" the rebate. BS.... when I called to get the help, I was told the tax guy left the company, but they would be willing to give us his number. The guy was working for another company already, and Reno Solar just said Sorry that's all we can do. When I asked for documents for tax purposes, they sent me blank tax forms for me to fill out and send. Mr. Jory Mack, the CEO, Kelsea Martinez, and Bryan Davis were all worthless on the issue. Seriously, they promised help and were one of the reasons we purchased, and then they just say the tax guy moved on to something else. WTF if you go with these knuckleheads, ensure you get what they promise. Reno Solar, please prove me wrong. You have my number, call me and make this BS right! read more

I selected Reno Solar based on decent reviews in the summer of 2024; and overall, the employees I have worked with have been very professional. This review is based on my overall experience with the project, which (in my opinion) took much too long and resulted in unnecessary additional expenses and repairs. I hope this review will help others considering installing residential solar to weigh their options and plan appropriately. I signed the contract in early July 2024, and the panel installation was started in October 2024 and completed mid-November after a couple of reschedules by Reno Solar. Longer than I expected, but so far, so good. I paid in full for the system at that time. From that point on, the project lingered in the permitting and inspection phase. NV Energy sent me monthly reminders that Reno Solar needed to submit documentation before they could do a final safety inspection. In mid-December, I was told the project was in a QC phase and an inspection would be needed before the documentation could be submitted to NV Energy. The inspection was done December 27th. I did not hear anything further, so I reached out to Reno Solar to find out when the system would be connected. On January 13, Reno Solar told me they had not yet completed the QC process and submitted the paperwork. I received an interconnection agreement in mid-February 2025, and my project officially moved to "documentation review" status with NV Energy February 19. On March 5, 2025, NV Energy moved my project into the inspection phase and completed the inspection and installed the meter the next day. However, the system did not work and did not seem to be connected. I reached out to Reno Solar, who then called to set up a troubleshooting visit. Another week went by with no resolution. I reached out to Reno Solar again, who now told me that after looking into my account, "there are items that need to be set up." On March 25, a tech did arrive to set up my system. Two things then happened: one, the tech told me I had bad circuit breakers that needed to be replaced, and two, a wire accidentally was pulled out of the meter and would now need NV Energy to re-connect. What I did not realize at the time was that whatever happened at the panel tripped GFIs to my garage freezer (defrosting it and hundreds of dollars of frozen food) and blew out two transformers to my heating system. The tech returned and finally connected the system (NV Energy came and told me there was no need for them to re-connect the communications wire to the meter). However, I had to hire an HVAC company to replace my transformers, in addition to losing the food from my freezer. I submitted my expenses to Reno Solar and have yet to receive any compensation for those damages. This is disappointing to say the least, especially after Reno Solar had received full payment for the system four months earlier. I have had a solar project done elsewhere, and the system was connected and working within a week of the installation. I truly hope my months-long experience with Reno Solar was an outlier. read more

We had Reno Solar install a system in early 2024. Great work, great employees, BUT, in December our system apparently stopped exporting power to NV Energy. Our previous bills were around $20 a month. December - $165. January - $185. February - $200. The app shows power exported, but NV Energy says nothing received for the last 3 months. System controller does not show any faults, either. I had Reno Solar install 11 solar panels on our roof last December and it's definitely been the best decision. My most recent electric bill was $17 and that's just basic service charge and various fees that NV Energy charges. We've used our air conditioner and the panels are covering our needs. We are definitely saving money. Jory and his staff and crews were always available to answer my questions and always professional and courteous. If you're on the fence about Solar I highly Recommend Reno Solar. There was no money out of pocket and my monthly payment and NV energy's fees is less then what I was paying for electricity. We contracted with RENO SOLAR and installed solar power to our home. The employees were very communicative and followed up in an efficient manner throughout the process. The actual cost was exactly the same as the quote they provided. We like the fact that the installation process is conducted by their employees, not sub-contractors. Also, RENO SOLAR provided us with a personal meeting with an expert, who explained the process regarding the tax deduction and credit to reduce the cost of the system. The representative informed us that we can reach out to him if we have questions, etc. All this at NO COST to us. Several weeks after the installation, we had a large wind storm and we heard a "thumping' sound on the roof. The next day, I called RENO SOLAR and told them what I heard the previous night. Within an hour, a technician arrived and went of the roof to tighten a bracket. There was no damage, but I was grateful to witness how quickly they responded. Update: Reno Solar has failed inspection twice with the city. Maybe I will be able to access solar power 2023 at this rate. Well first they scheduled an inspection at 11am-12pm. I waited until 12:45pm when I called them to get told they are a still a little late and if I could continue to wait. The inspector showed up after 2pm and I had to make several calls and texts to get any kind of response. We signed the contract over 2 months ago and have gotten NO updates unless I reach out to them. At one point their system was setup to route my calls to number for someone on vacation so I couldn't even contact the company directly. Please be sure to read what you are signing because they will take as long as possible to get this done. read more

We moved into our house that already had solar. But there was no info. My husband called around until he got to Reno Solar. The administrator remembered the house and the prior owner. Stephanie sent us all the info and explained everything. Fast forward 4 months and we had pigeons nesting under the panels. We called one service before calling Reno solar for info. Not only were they a lot less in price but they scheduled us right away. They cleaned the roof and installed the netting. Then thoroughly cleaned the patio and removed all the droppings. They were wonderful, polite , and professional. read more

We contacted Reno Solar in 2022, right before the intense winter hit. Due to the severity of that winter, and the pitch of our roof, which was frequently covered with ice, we were in for a long wait. Of course, we wanted everything to begin immediately. Although things did not go as smoothly, ( independent contractors/inspectors, not showing up, integral equipment purchased by Reno Solar delivered, inoperable, slowing down the production even more. When we did get to the first inspection, no one was available, as there was not adequate staffing. Throughout this process, Reno Solar from the secretary to the Project Manager, to the owner, were all good about communicating with my husband, or I. When we had our first power bill, it was so nice to only see the County fees being billed, without any electric charges. The first power outage, the backup batteries kicked on, without a hitch! That there, made all of the previous inconvenience, worth it! Ultimately, I would recommend Reno Solar. Jorey, the owner, did everything in his power, to make sure that things progressed as rapidly as possible. He also did all he could, in order to keep us in the loop and happy. read more

My solar project is TWELVE PAST MONTHS past the contracted finish date of the three months. Reno Solar's partners are G3 Solar , who are listed with the BBB. Reno Solar is not listed with the BBB. All of Reno Solar's reviews are listed under G3 Solar on the BBB. org website, and there are a lot of people who have had experiences like mine. MY job. is still not finished. Reno Solar states that G3 has no idea what they installed, that they do not have the correct plans required to get one the the last of the city's inspection approvals. i am updating my previous review. i wish i had waited to write my first review until the project was finally finished. reno solar has completely seperated from the contractors, g3 solar. reno solar is a in house instalation solar company now. the owner of reno solar took the reins of our project when everything with the installation was falling behind. he really stepped up to move things along. he called g3 all the time to make sure that they were on task. he did a great job for us to get the job finished. we have a full functioning solar system. i would recommend reno solar. read more
