Another long review here, but Greasy's is worth it!! And I do not own a Mini. I have taken my 2004 Jeep Wrangler to Greasy's twice now since changing from my previous mechanic in Framingham who had serviced the car since new - too far away now that I live in Worcester. I happened upon Greasy's by coincidence; checked the Yelp reviews and as you can see, they are by and large stellar reviews. I know they are heavy on the Mini's, but I have seen vehicles of ALL kinds at this place. Had to check them out! I don't understand that ONE negative review. Yes, they are busy, but obviously, that's the sign of trustworthy mechanics, or poor management which is NOT the case with Greasy's. Unless you are wicked lucky, you cannot expect to get your car in on the day you call. All of the dealings I have had, both with the Admin., Mike a.k.a. Troll :-) The Guy You Need To Talk To, and the mechanics, have been super. I find them to be prompt in returning messages, disclosing issues, and they are very courteous. I was very impressed with their painstaking work this past summer on my Jeep 'Death Rattle'. Mike the owner was super in literally sitting down with me to explain all of the different components that they were dealing with. They all but completely rebuilt the front of the vehicle. The problem was not yet fixed, and they were not going to charge me anything. Then, they tried one more thing and voila! Problem solved! Today I was lucky that they were not so busy. I got the car in and out, same day. My car is 10 years old, 168,000 miles. It is a manual transmission, straight 6 engine. I should be able to get at least another 100,000 + off of that engine. After all the years, mileage, abuse, she still spins like a top, very high torque for an engine with such tall gearing. I don't do much highway driving these days, just the battle driving of Worcester, which takes a huge toll on any vehicle. Today, for a very very good fee, I got a diagnostic safety check, 4 new tires installed and balanced, a new radiator, hoses, new blower motor, new serpentine belt, and the oil/filter changed. I have been inside the guts of the garage. From my relatively ignorant eye, it is very clean and organized. I am so happy to have found them! They run a tight ship. I recommend these guys now to everyone I talk to about vehicle maintenance, and hope that I can do my part to send them more business. Beth Keusch read more

I have been a MINI Cooper owner and customer there for the last two years. My car now has some 98K miles on the odometer, running strong and rides like a new car. Yesterday I was able to bring my Dad's Subaru in for work. Long story short, Dad's A/C was on the blink. Beard Subaru on the Cape charged for two R-134a recharges, then an estimate for a new evaporator $1,200.00 ....and another recharge-$100.00, and two cabin air filters replaced $200.00. Pete gave the system a good once over. The evaporator was found to fine, no die prevalent. AND my Dad's Subaru Outback did not have the cabin air filters to replace.?!?!?!?! It was an option at the dealer in 2004 when the car was new and it never had them. Then after Pete diagnosed the problem, it turned out to be the CLUTCH for the A/C compressor and not the evaporator at all....Beard Subaru would have soaked my Dad another 1K+ dollars for whole new compressor, and two cabin air filters which are not in his car !?!?!?!?!?!!? So in the end, a Worcester Subaru Dealer had a new clutch for $220.00 - and like an hour later - Pete had the problem solved.......Dad and Mom are now enjoying their super cold A/C again and a whole lot of money saved as well. Thanks Pete, and thanks to John in the office locating the parts. We brought our 2001 Honda Insight to Greasy's to have a new drive battery installed about a week ago (March 24th '12). This is the 120 volt hybrid IMA battery, not some simple 12volt starter/accessory battery -- this thing is powerful enough to easily kill you if you handle it wrong. The folks at Greasy's were great - friendly, professional, fast, and careful. - The install was faster than expected, and the bill was reduced from the estimate to reflect this. - As we watched them work (there's in window from the waiting room to the garage) we could see that they knew exactly what they were doing: they've obviously done this plenty of times. Their shop is a solid hour from where we live, and I'm very glad we took that long drive to have them do the install for us. I've been to plenty of other shops in my day, and can think of only one that left me with such a positive impression. If you're looking for someone who will take great care of your car, even doing niche work (there aren't too many shops out there that are willing to install IMA batteries), we highly recommend Greasy's. read more

I too have been to Greasy's recently, and I have to say that everything Ive heard and read about Pete and John and the rest of the crew is spot on! It's rare to find a repair shop that knows their stuff, parts and service at a very reasonable price, combined with warm and friendly personality!! Pete and John are Mini enthusiasts (they service other makes too) and they genuinely want everyone to be happy with their cars. When you love the product, you do an exceptional job, and they do! I got into a jam with my brakes, called Pete late in the day friday, and without hesitation he says" yep, bring er in we'll get ya goin" I got there and 3 guys got to work and finished up faster than it took me to drive there. WOW awesome!!!!!! Thats never happened to me in my life, so needless to say, I wont take my Mini or any other car I own (unless I live in like California) anywhere else!! A+ Thanx guys!!!! motor on :) read more

Who likes getting car repairs? It is never fun...stressful....boring. This place is definitely different. They are genuinely friendly, honest, and not customer servicey fake. They are also super fast and efficient as well. I had to be to work, and they got the job done pretty quickly. You can tell that this facility has great talent, and that they really love what they do! It was afforable, and I actually felt taken care of.....& did not expect that. I loved the waiting room....there was a lot of awesome artwork for sale, and the couch was so cozy! They made sure to test drive before giving my keys back, and making sure that I understood everything that they did. My car is all better now! :) I wanna highly recommend this place, as I was also highly recommended to come here as well! Thank you Greasy's Garage! You all are the absolute best! read more

After going through the usual poor experiences at Mini dealerships I was determined to find a great independent mechanic who really treats your car as though it was their own. I found Greasy's by reading the mmc forums and nam. Every single person on the forums who had experiences with Greasy's had great things to say so I knew this would be my next stop. So far I've been there a handful of times for a mix of vehicle issues and performance upgrades. I live in Boston but the trip to Worcester is well worth it. The service is always amazing and Pete and John are incredibly knowledgeable. Without getting too redundant from the other reviews, (GOOD, REASONABLY PRICED, RELIABLE and HONEST etc.) Greasy's really sets a new standard of what a mechanic should be. I'm pretty sure I've found my new mechanics. Pricing is great, their work is top notch and they are true to their scheduling. They took about 3 hours for the job. I got a call before and after they worked on my car. The best part was the dirty and filthy car i had dropped off was vacuumed and washed as well!!! I wanted to go back in and thank them for that extra touch but i was in a hurry and didn't and i feel bad about that. I think they even checked my tire pressure and added some air. Car felt preppy and new again and is once again a joy to drive. I'll definitely thank them next time i'm there. I hope i don't see them any time soon but i'll definitely be going to Greasy's from now on for all my car problems. read more

These guys are awesome let me tell ya! I had a vacuum hose problem with my 96 Chevy Lumina. They took the car in right away and within two hours had it fixed along with several other little issues I had. They explained everything and even gave me quotes on other issues that I knew were wrong with my car that I asked about. They are super nice guys and the price was excellent! On top of that, the next day I noticed my windshield wiper liquid was not squirting so I stopped back in and they ran new lines, installed new headlight bulbs I had picked up and even tried to polish my lens for free! They are now my mechanic of choice and I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I've been a loyal customer here for over a decade, but on my recent visit, I was disappointed to discover a new 3.5% credit card fee. Considering they've been absorbing this fee for years, I found this sudden change unsettling. When I voiced my concerns and mentioned potentially looking for a new mechanic, the owner's response was far from understanding. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was told that if that was my level of loyalty, they didn't want my business. It's unfortunate to see such a longstanding relationship with a business end this way. Will be seeking a new mechanic who values their customers, and understands money is as important to us as them. read more

I heard a commercial for Greasy's on the radio so decided to give them a try rather than going to the "stealership" to have my "service engine soon" light checked out on my 2010 Nissan Murano. Auto Zone had already told me it was my gas cap. NOT! Thom and his mechanic were so nice and so down to earth. It was my EVAP canister control valve which had to be ordered, so I came back a week or so later. I paid a reasonable price, it was popped in within minutes and I was on my way to work. I was so pleased I sent my mom there and she was also blown away by the service and the price. These guys are great! We will both be back. read more

I visited Greasy's this past weekend after having an email conversation with the management about getting a Oil Catch Can installed in my Mini. They were very responsive, and gave me a quote that they stuck to when I had the work done. Once arriving at the shop, I announced that I had a 9:00 appointment, and they brought my car right in, and completed the work in less than 30 mins. Pete and I then chatted for a few minutes about future mods to my mini, and then I paid, and was on my way home. I have been looking for a place to take my Mini, now that the dealers are getting so expensive, and I think I have found my place. read more

Great place to bring your car to get serviced -- even if it's not a MINI! I brought my 2013 Hyundai Sonata to get my tires changed out, and everyone I met was extremely nice and courteous! I was expecting to be there a while, but I was in and out in less than an hour! I even forgot to bring my tire bags for the old tires I was planning to keep. The shop didn't have any, but the mechanic, Tom was nice enough to load them into my car with the shop's paper floor mats so they wouldn't dirty my upholstery. This type of service is what will keep me coming back to Greasy's! read more

They usually say the small businesses are the best. Bringing my car to them definitely proved they are the best by far. They are reliable, friendly and clean. I have been to many mechanics that will get in my car leaving stuff on the steering wheel, seats and so on. I have been to Greasy's multiple times and each time it just gets better and better and my car doesnt end up with stuff all over the drivers side. They also seem to get my car in and out fast and do a good job at it which you barely see now a days. I truly cant say enough how much I appreciate them. read more

I called Greasy's after getting a recommendation from a friend about their quality of work and reasonable prices. Pete quoted me a price to replace a power steering pump on my Mini that was way more reasonable that another independent Mini shop or the dealer. The job was completed for a little less than the quoted price. Two days later I had a brake sensor light come on and I called Pete again. He made time in his schedule for me to come up that day and have it replaced while I waited. Unbelievable customer service. read more

Greasy's is the best mechanic in New England. The are super accommodating and offer superior customer service. There is a feeling of trust, integrity and sincerity you experience as soon as you walk through the door. I have had my share of not good experiences. I highly recommend Greasy's!!! They treat people right and don't hesitate to let you know you are valued as a patron. Get you car fixed right minus the hype, pressure, up selling and unnecessary bull *&^%... read more

These are the ONLY guys that will ever touch my '06 GP! Pete and Dave are the two best Mini mechanics that I have ever worked with and Thom keeps the place running smooth. I have recently added a new car to the family and Greasy's will be servicing that vehicle as well. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. Just understand that they are typically busy but always try to accommodate people needing immediate help. (I usually bring donuts) read more

Pete and John are godsends. Everytime I go in there they always welcome me in open arms. This is the type of garage that everyone looks for but can never find. Well, I FOUND IT!!!!!!. Everyone knows what they are doing and they are very passionate about their work. I am always looking forward to next time going to this garage. It was probably the best experience I've had in a garage so far. The service is great and all questions were answered. Helpful recommendations have been made which can be used in the future without having to spend money unnecessarily. Necessary repairs or replacements were also discussed. As a small highlight, one of the mechanics could talk to me in German. That will make things a lot easier if I use the service again. read more
