I had scheduled to go to my normal mechanic but had reasons to need to get an oil change sooner than they can get me in, my partner has been coming to this grease monkey and hadn't had issues so I THOUGHT I could trust his experience. They got me in and out in 15 mins on a Wednesday mid morning and I drove away feeling great, happy I got something checked off of my "to do" before hosting guests in town. Until I found a pool of grease in my drive way after getting home from some errands. When I left their office they said everything checked out great, they recommended transmission fluid change that I declined as I want to do that w my mechanic.... and there were no issues when I was paying. They failed to tell me that they found a leaky drain plug before they performed the oil change. Did not call attention to it during the process or when I signed, said everything checked out fine, took my money, which was about $80 after coupon and tax for the house synthetic..... Yes, I should have read the paper before signing... I also should have been notified that they found issues, before they decided to swap out my oil. In looking at the reviews, they probably damaged my drain plug during their speedy process, put a note on my receipt and got me out in a jiffy. The really trippy part, was when I took it back that same day in the afternoon, asked them kindly on how they can help me, that I was not notified of the issue before the oil change. I was told - that's our cashier's fault for not telling you, nothing we can do. The messenger asked me who helped me as the cashier and said let me check with my manager on what we can do... The manager did not come out to address, hiding in the bay below deck, spoke through the rep - the messenger only said that since the note is on the receipt and I signed, they are not liable for anything and I'm out of luck - though I can take my car to Big O's down the street and they might be able to give me a good discount as they are partners. They were able to tighten the screw more so it's leaking less - my problem was that my car was not leaking before I got there. The worst part, is the person I was speaking to said that they are not real mechanics and do not have the tools to help me. I then asked if there is anything they can do to address the lack of responsibility potentially with something on my payment due to their cashier not informing me of the issue. It couldn't have been done. I called my normal mechanic right away and they were going to help me but I'm nervous that GM had done more damage to my vehicle in order to partner with another business for additional gains. I am glad this is a lesson I learned the hard way... would recommend anyone to go ahead and skip this location. Especially now I've read reviews on Yelp w other female customers. I was a first time customer here and this would also be the last time. Just hope my mechanic would be able to fix the issue quickly and easily. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do yourself a favor and skip this inexperienced location before they damage your car further. Off my soap box.

    This was previously Mienike. It is now Thornton Car Care Center…read more This was our first experience with this business. They charged a diagnostic fee of $60 for our 99 Ford Windstar. Which was waived after we opted to have the problem repairedwith them instead of taking it somewhere else to have the work done. I did try to find other places to diagnose the problem but for one they all charged a minimum of $ 99 and one place (Firestone Northglenn) stated they could possibly waive a portion of the diagnostic fee IF we opted to have them do the work. The problem that they diagnosed was 2 sensors. They were up front with what the charge would if we would like them to do the work and I figured they already know what the problem was so why not let them fix it. After my decision to let them do the work i researched what is a fair price for the work to be done. They quoted me $320. To my satisfaction I found the low end of the "fair price to be around $300 and the high end up around $650 !! So of course I was happy. They even offered to throw in a free oil change. My wife had recently just had an oil change done so we declined but he stated no problem we could use it in the future on a vehicle of our choice. All in all our van runs great now and would definitely go back again. Also 6 days of week of services.

Shame on you Barren Troy Holdings for allowing this franchise to operate with the lack of integrity. Any lawyers out there looking for a probono case? In a nutshell Air Condition fiasco (Thornton Meineke store #2728) months after paying to replace the AC compressor AC stopped blowing cold - went back and paid for the system to be recharged (Maybe Brighton Meineke store #1699 can make sense of this AC issue) 1 year and 1 month after recharging the AC system - had to pay to have the system recharged again 2 months after recharging the AC system - was told the compressors not kicking on - paid to have the compressor replaced and the system recharged 7 months after new compressor and system charge - AC not blowing cold - informed that everything works, the system just needs to be recharged After all that where I'm at today - told that the compressor is not the issue, it was the connection (which was connected by a Meineke tech) Shocks & Struts fiasco 1 month after installation of shocks and struts - oil leaking from both shocks - shocks need to be replaced 5 months after installation of shocks and struts - clanking sound from front end - drivers side strut needed to be replaced 4 months after installation of shocks and struts - clanking sound from front end - passenger side strut needed to be replaced To date: 6/2/26 per Mark McKenzie (regional manager), I asked for a refund of the compressor, since I paid for two compressors in a year and ten months. UNFORTUNATELY he's not able to give a refund because the compressor works. EXACTLY why I'm asking for a refund, because the compressor works and the incompetence of the tech who installed it has been costing me time and money. Back and forth to no avail. But he can give me 15% off the replacement of my condenser. NO INTEGRITY!!! TAKE IT FROM MY FIASCO - PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
