They took the vehicle to inspect it and brought it back. The first thing they tried to get out of me was an oil change. That's because I have not taken the old sticker down from my windshield. When I declined that they then said my windshield wipers were streaking and I could not pass the inspection unless I purchased some of their wipers. I looked at my windshield. It was still wet from the water but no streaks anywhere! None! My wipers are fairly new anyway. What a rip off! No wonder they have a special "Ladies Day".

The problem was there wasn't a ton of these cars around the US, and the ones I did find either weren't in great condition or had a high sticker price. When I came across a vehicle that fit my requirements at Lade Ford, I gave them a call. I ended up speaking to Dan Lade, the owner of the dealership, and he was super helpful getting me photos and details of the car. I saw great reviews from the dealership so I bought the car sight unseen. Hitched a ride from Austin to Frankston to pick it up and met the man in person. He was as nice as he was on the phone, and the car was in better condition than I could have imagined. I got a great deal and a month later I couldn't be happier with the car and how Dan handled everything. I've bought many cars for my business over the years and this was by far one of the best buying experiences I've ever had.

This a an issue that I have had several other "experts" attempt. One insisted that there was no problem, but the batteries were dead the next day. The last told me my 2 year old alternator was bad. They installed a new one and of course the issue remained. I spent several hundred dollars and knew immediately when I picked up the truck that the "mechanic" did not have a clue. He told me "well you know these old trucks, if you park it for several days require you to disconnect the batteries!" A total fool. How many trucks would Ford sell with that disclaimer? I would recommend EQ.
