I've been here a bunch of times, both alone and with my husband.
In the past I've experienced
- extremely slow/absent (and occasionally bitchy!) service
- burgers that are good but fall short of the expectation set by the price
- really hit or miss salads and other food
- long waits for the bill (i've gotten up to find someone more than once)
- super awkward ipod billing and typping system
As for the payment system, there have been at least a dozen occasions where we picked somewhere else to eat because we didn't have cash in our pockets and Grazer's ipod system makes us uncomfortable. We typically tip 20%+ so it's not because we're ashamed of being accountable, rather I don't like having my heart rate speed up because I'm trying to figure out a new electronic gizmo while someone stands there watching and waiting. It's just uncomfortable. Not sure what the benifits are for you Grazers but if you're reading this you may want to reassign it to the "unwelcoming atmosphere" category.
So despite all the above issues, we have gone back from time to time because we *want* this place to be awesome since it's close to our house. Unfortunately our last experience has kept us away for month and months. Today I was considering trying Grazers again for an after-work burger but remembering how bad our last visit was, I've decided to go somewhere else. I also realized I never reviewed it, so here goes...
I ordered coffee because I was cold, and I drank it very quickly, but our server never came back to refill it. When our salads came (after a long wait) I asked for more coffee and he apologized and said he'd bring it right over. The cesar salads we ordered had no dressing on them, just forgotten, but our server never came back - not to refill my coffee or to check on us. Keep in mind the place was less than 1/4 full - not busy at all. Then 20-30 minutes after we sat staring at empty salad bowls, our server brought our food. At this point I told him to take the coffee off my tab. Now I had hot food and no longer wanted hot coffee. But I did ask that he refill our waters, which were empty. He left, and then I realized I had nothing to eat my chili with. So I just sat there, kind of looking around for help and hoping he'd be back soon with the water. After several minutes the bar tender came over and gave me a spoon, I guess he saw me looking around. Sadly after one bite I realized the chili was inedible because it was so salty. Very thick and dry too which makes me think they had it in a crock pot reducing on the counter for who knows how long until it became thick and dry and evaporation concentrated the salt. But once again our server never came back to see how we were doing, and we were still out of water. Not one thing we ate was correct or good and the service was a joke. read more
