I don't want to know what that is, Part II

Under no circumstances would I do business with Gravity Autos again. The errors in my transaction cost me time, money, and patience -- and were met with poor communication, a lack of accountability, and repeated attempts to shift blame. The good: my salesman, Ricky, was excellent -- professional, responsive, and helpful. Because I was buying remotely, he helped arrange a third-party inspection on my behalf. Great attitude, great guy. That's where the pleasant part ended. I specifically requested that my car be delivered on a certain date and by open trailer. I was told it would ship "as soon as it came out of detailing," which was supposedly happening as we spoke. The car arrived a day late and by closed trailer, and I had to pay roughly $500-$600 out of pocket to release it. I wasn't going to stiff the delivery crew who had just driven overnight from Atlanta to Chicago. When I raised the issue, their finance manager, Igor Abramov, denied even the possibility of any error on his part and -- rather absurdly -- told me that he must be right because he has a "photographic memory." Eventually, he offered a partial reimbursement, which I accepted, but it never arrived. At that point, I refused to deal with anyone by phone since I could not count on their word. Subsequently, any written communication I sent was ignored completely. Things did not improve once I inspected the car. Despite being told it was detailed, it arrived filthy -- covered in sap, pollen, and dirt. The interior was just as bad: an empty water bottle, used vape cartridges, sticky residue, and dirty floor mats. The car also had aftermarket window tints that were never disclosed. The car required a full interior and exterior detail at my expense. Whether through poor quality control or intentional misrepresentation, this vehicle was never detailed. When I brought this up with the finance manager, he offered a weak apology and claimed he had fired the detailer. I have no reason to believe that happened, nor would I want it to -- the dealership allowed the car to ship in that condition, and they alone were responsible. The dealership also collected sales tax and registration fees at the time of sale but failed to remit them promptly, resulting in penalties and late fees from the State of Illinois that I had to pay out of pocket. My lender later notified me that they had not received the title. It eventually arrived, but only after a significant delay. Again, I notified them in writing and never heard back. Keep in mind, this is all well documented. In all, their negligence cost me somewhere around $2,000, maybe more -- not counting the wasted day off, detailing costs, or tint removal. Gravity Autos had multiple opportunities to take ownership of their mistakes and correct them. Instead, they denied, deferred, and disengaged. WARNING: No doubt they will respond to this review as they have elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the friendly or "helpful" tone in Gravity Autos' responses to reviews -- it's just damage control. After briefly reaching out when I complained, they went silent again. I have no reason to believe they intend to take responsibility or correct anything. Grievances are met with polite words at first and then quietly ignored, hoping you'll just give up. From what I can tell, if you have no problems, you'll get a nice car at a competitive price. But if anything goes wrong, expect to be ignored or blamed for their failure to conduct business responsibly.

Came in to Gravity to look at some vehicles. I had heard about them because my husband had previously bought a vehicle here about 7 years ago. When I came in to look at vehicles, Alex had helped me to view the vehicles. I let him know that I'm not an impulse buyer and I would like to just see the vehicles I'm interested in so I can go home and think about it. He gave me all the information and didn't make me feel pressured. A week later, my husband and I decided we were going to purchase the vehicle. When we came back, Alex was not available, so Don helped us out. If you have ever purchased a vehicle, you know it is a long process with a lot of waiting. Now car buying here was made to be a fun experience because of Don. He was very helpful answering all our questions and was very communicative with updates through the whole process. In addition, once the vehicle was purchased, I got to ring the cowbell and everyone in the office cheered. I even got to take a photo with a big red bow. If you're looking for a used luxury vehicle, I highly recommend stopping by Gravity and give them a try!

Paint issue. Was not like this when I bought it. A few other spots too. Was not there when purchased

I was taken advantage of. I was desperate to get in a new car and they took the opportunity to lowball me on the car that I had and sold me a car that is now worth $10,000 less than what they sold me and I just bought it six months ago. There was also a lot of mysterious paint issues on my car that revealed itself in the first few months.

    2020 Porsche MACAN

Trevor and Igor were great! Bought a Porsche MACAN. Just a couple of hiccups but everything worked out. They were very easy to work with and did everything they said they would. I recommend this dealership and these two people.

They are not honest people! Don't purchase a car unless you have driven it yourself. They say and do anything to get your business.

The Jeep passed Emission Testing a week later (yeah!) and is running well. We still "heard a noise" and brought it back for another inspection. The Wright Team inspected the Jeep and determined that an inexpensive repair by the former owner (strut assembly) was causing the noise. They determined it was not a safety issue and advised we could wait, or repair. I appreciated their honesty as my goal is to provide my youngest daughter with a safe vehicle to use in College. Wright could easily have told me "it's a safety issue" and I would have paid for the repair but they were honest, and they have earned my business for many, many years. If you need an honest and very capable repair shop, THIS is the place.

When I was shopping for a car, I brought a vehicle in for a general inspection. I scheduled the day beforehand, and although I was advised that it would be better to bring the vehicle in first thing in the morning, I was unable to do so because I couldn't get ahold of it until noon. I made the receptionist aware of this, and he scheduled my appointment for the afternoon. I brought the vehicle in at the agreed time the following day and called an hour and a half later for a simple ETA on the inspection. I was not rude or aggressive in any way, yet the owner David took it upon himself to rudely tell me that he had not looked at it, would get to it when he could, and that this wouldn't have happened if I had just bought it in first thing in the morning, even though I made it clear to the receptionist a day beforehand that I wouldn't have the vehicle that early. Heated and irrational, I decided to leave a two-star review on Google about David's rudeness. Admittedly, this was not a wise decision, but at the same time, how could I have known that he keeps a sharp eye out for bad reviews when he's supposedly swamped with work? Sure enough, I get a call from him demanding that I take it down. I refused and decided to just go get my car, ignoring the angry, long-winded text he sent me, in which he said he would no longer do any of the non-existent repairs on a vehicle I had brought in for a general inspection. When I arrived at the shop, he refused to give up my keys, physically holding on to them and actually snatching them out of my reach when I tried to get them back. I could have called the police since he legally had no right to withhold my vehicle, but I had more pressing matters to attend to. He gave up the keys and glared at me as I left, leaving me in absolute awe of the unprofessionalism I experienced. I regret writing that first review for sure, as it was purely reactionary, but if they had simply told me they were fully booked and could not accept my appointment, then none of this would have happened. David might be a great auto mechanic, judging by the many perfect reviews his company has, but it is clear to me that he becomes quite rude and aggressive towards customers whenever he's in the wrong. If you look at some of the other one-star reviews here and on Google and see how he replies to them, you'll see what I mean. Somehow, some way, it's always the customers' fault when something goes wrong. Never his.

Perhaps there are mechanics that take issue with specific cars at the owner's unawares…read more I found that my infotainment system no longer worked properly. I never had that issue until I became a regular customer for services. First, I paid no mind to the phone not connecting right away because eventually, it did. Upon a random visit out of a total of 12 for services, I noticed the issue again in addition to trouble connecting to my playlists until it eventually picked up. I felt they would not owe up to it despite having the obvious of the mechanic. Next visit to the shop, the plugin was practically loosened; a fix that had to be done at the infotainment center who did the install. Case in point: when I come to a mechanic shop, I expect to have the car serviced without tinkering with anything outside of scope. As I said, I know they won't owe up to screwing with my infotainment system which has nothing to do with auto repairs such as alternators, battery installations, fluid checks, etc but I am aware that the issue stemmed from the mechanics there. Lastly, I agree with a lady customer, who sat in the waiting area in tears about pricing concerns for a repeated issue,, who didn't understand the need for a $100+ diagnostic practically every trip or within the same year or quarter of the last. I don't see that as reasonable other than a grab at additional money given this economy. I would suggest that every customer keep a record of every transaction done to support their concerns, mechanical repair costs, etc. There may be the likelihood of haggling once you bring your vehicle in for that repair or a mechanic assigned to your car doing workarounds to stay at cost determined by a diagnostic. Although there may be a good mechanic there; which is a saving grace for the location, there are some who shouldn't be allowed to touch anyone's car. I had to return my vehicle twice on the same issue until the one mechanic who can fix the issue was the one who did. The customer service is fine despite no longer ever seeing Diamond and I think Vanessa, a pretty blonde, at the location. They may had their reasons for leaving. However, the overall mechanic team can be a risky story. I do believe when I find another independent, I may have to resort to going there to spare the risk of something truly going afoul at this one. The mechanic that can actually fix cars may not be the one assigned to mine.

TLDR: Great overall value and no-nonsense. Say "NO" to dishonest, incompetent, and prohibitively…read moreexpensive dealership service departments like Jim Ellis of Atlanta. For the readers: The saying "good, fast, cheap - pick two" means you can only have two of the three attributes at once, and the third will suffer. Finding an honest and ultimately "good" service outfit is the biggest challenge. I knew exactly what specific service was needed for my vehicle when I brought it in (down to the codes), but I simply didn't have the time, patience, or specialty tools to fix it myself. BRA diagnosed the complex problem correctly and did not offer unreasonable up-sell--Just smart recommendations, which I supported before they even suggested it. Repair was done correctly and they obviously know their craft. So for the "good", box checked. Are they the cheapest option? Not "cheap", But, they are reasonable with labor and parts were 30% over retail--Closer to dealership prices in both labor and parts than "Bubba with a wrench in farm country", but not an unwelcome trade-off and the parts did require same-day delivery which doesn't come free. Because repairs DO become MORE expensive (in $ and time) if mis-diagnosed, are executed poorly, or as a result of dishonesty. Finally, they are relatively "fast". I could tell they were respectful of my time and grateful for the business. So the repair was pretty quick considering the parts needed ordering and did require some minor acrobatics by the technician. I get it, they work on most makes and models so keeping everything in inventory would be another level of expensive. So there you go. BRA falls mostly into the "Good and Fast" category with reasonable out-the-door price considering the final result. They serviced my vehicle better and for less than Jim Ellis on Peachtree Industrial, and with superior level of honesty. Great overall value, friendly, and no-nonsense. Blue Ridge Automotive will be my go-to for my vehicles from now on, and will enthusiastically recommend to family and friends.

He had sold the business to a new crew and I should have figured that out when it took three weeks to get my car back. When I did get my car back, the leather wrapped steering wheel was filthy with grease as was the drivers seat and armrest.
