I've eaten there a number of times. As soon as you walk in the door you'll see how clean it is. Then your greeted with a warm genuine welcome. After going a few times they even greet you by name. The Grave's Burger is Hearty and very good. They make all their Slaw for their Slaw Dog in house along with their homemade no bean chili. Their fries are Steak Fries not the thin ones. It's very reasonable and I enjoy eating there. I'm always stuffed from the size of their burger combo. Oh and don't forget to try the Sweet Tea. It's probably the best I've ever had. read more

Don't misread the three stars. Three stars are perfectly acceptable ~ and so is this quaint spot in Perry. It is what it is ~ and we were thankful for this lunch stop! Hubs and I got hot dogs -- chili cheese for him and chili for me. Chili is good and plentiful, though it served more as hot dog topping than chili-tasting chili. Steak fries (one serving plenty enough for two) were hot and yummy. Not fancy, which the name alone should communicate. Staff are most friendly!! Also ~ they have ice cream! read more

Extremely impressed with the quality of ingredients and flavor, as well as the restaurant as a whole. Very friendly staff, very clean, and fast service. I've eaten at all the main burger joints across the country (In N' Out, Shake Shack, Five Guys, etc) and Graves can definitely hang. Highly recommended for either a quick stop, or to eat in and enjoy the charming retro diner experience. On a side note, I have no idea what some of these reviews are talking about. I would of taken a photo like other had of the food they ordered. But it looked so good I just had to taste it all. Then I couldn't put it down as the Food they make there is awesome. So all I can say is its the best Bacon Cheeses Burger I have had in a long time. Oh dont forget to get the grilled onions, I think thats what makes it outstanding. My wife had the same problem with her Catfish dinner. Looked really awesome and couldn't stop to take a photo of the meal till she was done. Had been closed bc of a few storms but has, as of Oct. 15th, 2024, reopened under new management. Their smashed to order hamburgers and steakfries have been a town staple for a cpl generations, so I hope the menu hasn't changed too much... but be willing and prepared for to wait. We aways call in, or order online 20-30 minutes before going down there, and still wait for a few but worth it:()! On a side musing: Wish they would stretch out a screen, or whitewash a wall outside to project old movies onto, as an homage to a moment in time, not so long ago, when American communities, old and young alike, would flock to these fields of speaker posts, arranged in giant arching half circles, narrowing in on a single sizable screen. As dusk approached, speakers began to crackle to life, the screen would flicker and flash concessions adverts subliminally requiring us to buy the buttery popcorn, candies, and a Coke. As if the sweet, buttery smell wafting forth from the diminutive stand in the middle of it all hadn't already bereft you of all choice. Popcorn, treats, and drink in hand, you make your way back to your car, nodding and smiling at friends and neighbors as you do. With a swell from the speakers, a luminous increase of the screen, a hush comes over the crowd as we are all set to watch some new film, out under the stars. This is not a food review, our didn't get that far. We pulled up and could see the young men in the kitchen sink/prep table & grill area with long frizzy hair & beards . We had business in Perry and were given a local insider tip on a great burger place so we decided to give it a try. Graves is a little off the beaten path but oh so worth it! This little restaurant would probably not have attracted our attention had it not been for the tip. It is definitely in need of an update, but it looked clean and as soon as you walked in the smell of the burgers on the grill enveloped you. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and jalapeño bites and a double cheeseburger with fries. The burgers were hand pattied and cooked perfectly. The buns were nice and greasy and had been toasted on the grill. The condiments ran out of the edges exactly as a good juicy burger is supposed to do. The jalapeño bites were also very good- they were likely frozen but they were full of delicious cream cheese and again fried up perfectly. The fries are thick steak fries. I personally prefer thinner ones but these were good and took nothing away from our meal. The folks there were all very friendly and ready to serve us. I highly recommend giving this place a shot if you are in the area!! read more

Please note they are CLOSED Sundays AND Mondays! Little old time drive in off 221 heading out of Perry. Nothin' fancy outside but inside is clean & cute and the staff is friendly & helpful. I am sad to report we are doing the no-carb thing. Sad because I can only imagine how extra delish our huge, flavorful, juicy chili cheeseburgers would have been if we'd had them on a soft bun. Remember that sweet, creamy, finely minced coleslaw KFC used to serve when we were kids? Yup they make it here homemade and man is it good. The chili is also made in house. As we drew close to Perry and our stopping point for the night (Perry KOA) we searched trusty Yelp for a place to eat. We saw the Graves Drive Inn and the positive reviews of their burgers. Glad we decided to eat at Graves. I had the bacon cheeseburger with seasoned fries and the wife got a chili slaw dog and chili cheese dog. We also added fried green tomatoes to the order. Everything was REALLY GOOD! I would recommend to other KOA campers stopping in Perry for the night to give Graves a try. We really enjoyed our food and most certainly would eat here again if we are ever in the area. read more
