I wish I tried them sooner!…read more Excellent food with even better prices- not to mention great customer service. I have driven past this place for over two years, and I would always tell myself that I will try it one day. Well, today was the day and I am SO glad I did! I got the jerk chicken dinner, which cam with two sides. I got the collard greens and potato salad, upon recommendation. I was in and out in under 10 minutes with my to-go container, paying $9 total for the meal. CRAZY. What's even crazier is how much QUALITY food you get! I had 2 legs and 2 thighs of some of the juiciest, most flavorful chicken I have had from a restaurant. The collard greens were the best I have had- full of garlic and savory flavor, and not one-note or bitter like I am used to. I will skip the potato salad for the mac and cheese next time, I picked up on a sweet flavor there that just didn't do it for me, but that's on me. I am very glad I FINALLY stopped by here. Very friendly people, great food, and awesome prices. Yes please.

The Mac & cheese didn't tasted like it was box made, not homemade and just wasn't hitting the spot. It's a food truck so beware that it'll be very hot outside when waiting/ordering your food. The music they were playing was really loud and made it difficult to hear/understand each other, plus lots of flies swarming everywhere. Very nice customer service for sure. Lastly, I completely forgot to take a pic of my food.

This is a covid review of their "Breakfast Club."…read more With many of us only wanting to to take-out or curbside, Red Eye has us covered! They have partnered with Red Eye Cofee, a local coffee house, to offer a Breakfast Club. Each week they pick a different location to bring fresh cooked goodness and wonderful beverages to your door. Place your order by Wednesday and it will be delivered to your door on Friday. And if you are not in their neighborhood that they will be serving that week, have no fear: you can place an order to pick it up! We ordered the Hakuna Frittata filled with meat, some cinnamon rolls filled with bacon, and a jug of cold brew. It showed up right on time and they have amazing customer service: you can track them online via the link in email, and they will text/call you when they have delivered! Perfect! Everything is pre-cooked and just needs to be heated (20 min for frittata, 10 for cinnamon roll). And everything heated up perfectly...just like we were being served fresh from initial cooking. The frittata was amazing, and can easily serve 4. The cinnamon rolls can also serve 2 each (but you almost certainly want your own) and were warm and gooey. The coffee was the outstanding Red Eye cold brew. For a little over $30 we had breakfast delivered that will feed us for two mornings. I am so glad that they are doing this, and am happy to help 2, small local businesses.

To say service is terrible would be an understatement - its actually laughable to have to wait in line for 45 minutes only for the cashier to say they are out of most menu items once I finally got to the front of the line - mind you, these are sandwiches and sides that are served could be served at a little league baseball game. Just another joke "food" business that operates in Tallahassee. I guess anybody can do anything these days ay? Words of advice - go to 7/11 and you'd probably spend your money more wisely. Embarrassing on all accounts

Tally Mac Shack at 1851 was recently featured on the Food Network Guy Fiere show, Diners, Drive-ins…read moreand Dives. We really wanted to try this location after seeing the show. First concern, where to park? This restaurant is located on Florida State University's Tallahassee campus and parking is always a concern for us non-student, non-parking pass folks. We went on a Sunday, midday, and hopeed that students would still be sleeping late and that we'd find parking. Still a challenge, we ended up parking in CVS's store parking lot. To be fair, we went inside and bought some candy. But it is still a tow parking lot. Not sure when that might be enforced. It's a short walk to the 1851 building, which houses several counter service restaurants, including sushi, tacos, ice cream, pizza and Tally Mac Shack at 1851. Sunday is a good day to try this spot. The line was short and the service was swift and efficient. We ordered the Snortin Nortin, which is pulled pork, smoked peach BBQ sauce and tangy Carolina gold sauce on top of a bowl of mac and cheese. If you're used to Kraft mac and cheese, this is a smooth cheese sauce throughout the macaroni. Almost too much cheese sauce. The pulled pork and BBQ sauce is served in the right proportion. The other bowl we ordered was supposed to be something like a Cuban sandwich. The pork over mac and cheese was fine, but the haphazard way the mustard was added, was not visually appealing, and was there supposed to be some chopped pickles on top? Not sure about that. Again, the cheese sauce was a bit too much for my dining companion. The price may be a little high. Overall, we were filled and had some left over. I think the appearance on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives encouraged us, but I'm not sure we'd return for same. There is a cute ice cream place in the next counter, and a pizza place we might like to try if we can figure out some better parking.

We got the same exact mac n cheese bites that Guy ordered and they were nothing alike in the slightest. There was little to no mac n cheese at all in the Tiki marsala bite, and all you could taste was the breading. They were also extremely expensive and not worth the money. Luckily on my way home I found a homeless man who was happy to take them. My friend and I both spent $20 each and left unsatisfied. The buffalo chicken mac n cheese was decent with a good amount of food. I suggest y'all go somewhere else if you want mac.

Every once in a while you stumble across a place that makes you wonder, "Where have you been all my…read morelife?" Le Point Pastry & Bakery is that place!. Le Point is a charming little bakery near FSU that serves breakfast and lunch, with extended evening hours a couple of nights each week for students. If you appreciate authentic pastries made from scratch, buttery croissants that practically melt in your mouth, and a kind of warm, family-run atmosphere that's becoming harder to find, this is the place for you. Some friends and I were in search of breakfast, and from the very first bite, I was hooked. Their croissants are made fresh on-site, what a difference! The ham and cheese croissant was buttery, perfectly flaky, and absolutely AMAZING. So was the pastry filled with feta cheese, herbs, and spices. Le Point is family-owned, and you can tell it's truly a labor of love. Everyone we met was warm, friendly, and genuinely happy to make us feel welcome. Here's the real test of a great bakery: Would you go back the very same day? We did! After attending a concert, we found ourselves right back at Le Point for lunch. I ordered the chicken salad croissant sandwich to take home to Andy and he loved every bite. For myself --I happily ordered another ham and cheese croissant because it was just that good. I took a couple desserts home. The almond (or amaretto) pastry filled with cream & topped with sliced almonds was rich, and delicious... but the strawberry-and-cream-filled croissant? OMGoodness!! That thing should come with a warning because once you've had one, you'll be craving another. It was pure pastry heaven! I'd honestly jump in my car and drive 25 minutes just to satisfy a craving for these pastries--The family also told us they have a food truck at the Tallahassee Nursery during the week so I have a feeling I'll be seeing them a lot more often! You should do yourself a favor and stop in on them. Just don't blame me when you become a regular... because I know I will!!
