This is a covid review of their "Breakfast Club."…read more With many of us only wanting to to take-out or curbside, Red Eye has us covered! They have partnered with Red Eye Cofee, a local coffee house, to offer a Breakfast Club. Each week they pick a different location to bring fresh cooked goodness and wonderful beverages to your door. Place your order by Wednesday and it will be delivered to your door on Friday. And if you are not in their neighborhood that they will be serving that week, have no fear: you can place an order to pick it up! We ordered the Hakuna Frittata filled with meat, some cinnamon rolls filled with bacon, and a jug of cold brew. It showed up right on time and they have amazing customer service: you can track them online via the link in email, and they will text/call you when they have delivered! Perfect! Everything is pre-cooked and just needs to be heated (20 min for frittata, 10 for cinnamon roll). And everything heated up perfectly...just like we were being served fresh from initial cooking. The frittata was amazing, and can easily serve 4. The cinnamon rolls can also serve 2 each (but you almost certainly want your own) and were warm and gooey. The coffee was the outstanding Red Eye cold brew. For a little over $30 we had breakfast delivered that will feed us for two mornings. I am so glad that they are doing this, and am happy to help 2, small local businesses.

To say service is terrible would be an understatement - its actually laughable to have to wait in line for 45 minutes only for the cashier to say they are out of most menu items once I finally got to the front of the line - mind you, these are sandwiches and sides that are served could be served at a little league baseball game. Just another joke "food" business that operates in Tallahassee. I guess anybody can do anything these days ay? Words of advice - go to 7/11 and you'd probably spend your money more wisely. Embarrassing on all accounts

A wonderful weekly event that brings the community together for great food, music, and friendship!…read more Food Truck Thursdays at Lake Ella Park are always a relaxing time to spend with friends, hanging out under the canopy trees and listening to a local band or musician. With food, there's usually about 8 trucks or so scattered around, with everything from pizza, tacos, and reuben sandwiches to cupcakes and other sweets. Plus, you can take advantage of the businesses in the cottages for sweet ice cream, peanut brittle, and snowballs (which were my personal favorite). Remember to bring a camp chair or blanket, as there is no seating available. Also, if you want, you can bring beer or wine. Finally, you could end up having to park all the way down the street, so you may want to arrive early just in case.

The stage was angled oddly this time so it was not directly facing the majority of the crowd. Also, there was a huge tree right in front of the stage which blocked the view. Parking is a pain typically with any event at Lake Ella. There were 7 food trucks out there this time, which includes Lucy & Leo's cupcakes in an adorable vintage style camper. I bought food from El Criollo and Street Chefs. Friends bought food from Valhalla and Fired Up Pizza. Overall, if the weather is good, this is a relaxing way to spend an evening out.

Located at the corner of Thomasville Rd and East 7th Avenue at the convenience store near Midtown Caboose. We stopped by for a quick afternoon snack, and our tacos were absolutely stacked! The service was top notch and they offer cute little outdoor shaded picnic tables so you can save your vehicle upholstery from wearing your meal. Be sure to get them "con todo" with cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onion, street corn, and guacamole salsa. These tacos were a perfect balance of spicy heat and cool freshness. They make everything by scratch daily. ‼‼Holy Frijoles‼‼ it was definitely another praiseworthy food experience! Come Back Tacos... can I get an Amen?

Ordering is done through a tablet, which means simple customizations aren't an option. My friend wanted a cheese quesadilla, but the system forced us to order it with meat at the same price point, which was disappointing. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out, and when it did, my chicken tacos were overly salty and drenched in liquid/grease, making the flour tortilla soggy. My taco meal came with chips and salsa but the salsa appeared to be premade from a jar like Tostitos Chunky Salsa. While I'm glad I gave it a try and respect the effort, the inability to modify orders and the extended wait time make it hard to justify a return visit, especially if you're on lunchtime and have a time constraint.

And for good reason. The portions are ginormous and I'm always left satisfied. Last night's sandwich was a beast of a meal. The Viking contained mountains of roast beef (sliced to order) and a heaping helpful of delicious horseradish mayo. Winner winner, roast beef dinner. The sweet potatoes were long and tender. Compared to other SPF's around town, they're run of the mill, but still very good. You can never go wrong with Valhalla Grill. Check 'em out for yourself!

Tonight's special, the Smashburger, was the meal my husband ordered. It is half a lb with caramelized onions, American cheese, and bacon. You can get any entree in combo form with sweet potato or crumble fries, tater tots or eggplant fries. In addition, you can add poutine or beer cheese to your sides. Sadly they were out of beer cheese, but I was not disappointed with the eggplant fries and horseradish mayo I got with my Phoenix or spicy version of a gyro. I think someone who can handle a bit of spice can tackle the Phoenix because it is slightly spicy, but not very spicy with its Thai sauce. I got a "smaller" burger for my son, but it is as big as his head. He will have lunch for tomorrow as well. My daughter chose The Curry Phoenix, but got the sauce on the side because she is sensitive to spicy dishes. We will be back and often! I am so grateful they are located nearby, even if it is only temporary.

However, on a recent trip I discovered something a bit disturbing and honestly confusing. I was with a group of colleagues, and three of us have Alpha Gal (red meat allergy caused by the lone star tick). Thankfully I desensitized myself enough that I can eat SOME red meat. The other two are highly sensitive. I ordered the wings again and passed them around to share. One of my AG friends ate one and the other asked the waitress if there is cross contamination. We were informed that the wings are fried in BEEF tallow. I panicked because the one friend is so sensitive that she can't even go to a petting zoo with hoofed mammals without reacting. So lucky that she had taken an Allegra that day which helps with the allergy enough that one wing fried with beef fat won't cause anaphylaxis. However, if the other girl had eaten it, she very likely could have had a terrible reaction. It does not state on the menu that the wings are fried in beef tallow. It's very important that allergens such as this are noted. I would never have thought myself that it was fried in beef fat. I would've thought it was vegetable or peanut oil. I would hope that this restaurant will add red meat allergens to their menu as Alpha Gal is becoming more and more common. Better yet, don't use beef products to cook chicken products.
