These guys are great. I've never liked doing laundry and living in an apartment complex with a small number of often-broken washer/dryers is annoying and leads to piles of dirty clothes laying around. I recently took a job where I'm working all the time and when I leave I just want to spend time with my family. I first started sending my clothing to Graustark a few months back and now I'm hooked. The folks there are friendly, efficient, and their service is like magic. Bags of dirty stuff goes in, clean, folded, sorted clothing comes out. It's an incredible value for me and they do a great job. A side bonus is that they're next to Black Hole, a pretty sweet cafe, so you can swing by and get both your clothing and coffee fix. It just makes sense. I'm going to have to start doing my dry-cleaning there, as well. read more

This place is ultra clean, very very nice, big load washers and the dryers are huge with high heat if wanted. You can be in and out in no time or better yet, they do wash and fold very affordable. In great area. They really take great care here! :) read more

Wonderful drop-off laundry service! Lupita and Maggie are great. I brought in an overloaded basket of clothes that needed to be washed and folded. They had my clothes ready the same day! The pants and collared shirts were neatly hung on hangers. Everything else was neatly folded and stacked in the same laundry basket I dropped off. Paid $0.99 per pound which is a deal if you ask me, especially considering I don't have to use my own washer/dryer, electricity/gas. Time is more valuable and when one (like myself) has little of it, these kind ladies would be happy to help save some of that time by doing a superb laundry job. They also offer dry cleaning services. $1.50/each for a standard button down dress shirt. I didn't drop off my dry cleaning with them because I thought it was a bit expensive for what I'm used to paying, though I'm positive they would have done a great job as well. For the museum district area this place is located in, I'm sure the price-point is acceptable. Oh, and the Black Hole cafe next door rocks! All the outdoor seating was taken when I picked up my laundry. read more

Graustark laundry is the answer to my stressed out mommy prayers. Although I don't use their services regularly (I should), when my home is in need of laundry cleansing I am relieved to know that there is a laundry savior that is Graustark Laundry. They have the cheapest rates that I've found in town and they do a fantabulous job. I consider the two Hispanic ladies my fairy laundry mothers. Everything is clean clean clean and folded to perfection. Honestly I wouldn't know what my sanity would do without this place. The laundry service is excellent! Its quick and inexpensive but very neat and thorough. Wonderful job and wonderful prices. This is by far the best dry cleaner I have ever used. It doesn't look like much, and the dry cleaning is done off-site but they do an absolutely wonderful job. They are complete perfectionist when it comes to getting out a stain. A couple things to keep in mind. They will keep an item an extra day or two if it needs extra care, so if you need the item back immediately then this isn't the place for you. Also, they do not speak much English so don't expect to be able to discuss anything in detail if you don't speak Spanish. Still I have 100% confidence in taking my nice wool and silk items here. read more

I love Lupita: She takes perfect care of my clothes, and I trust her with all of my household laundry items. I drop off everything washable, including sheets, towels, washcloths, tablecloths, you get the picture, and she has it done by around 5:00 p.m. (I drop mine off around 8:00 on Monday). I have never had anything bad happen here, except at one point in early 2012, I lost a sock. That was the only negative experience, EVER. And that wasn't even negative, it just happens. And I use this place once a week, for the last couple of years. Minor complaint: I love animals, I really do. The manager is a foster dad for two dogs that had been previously abused, and that is a great thing to do. But he keeps the dogs in the same area in the evenings where he stores the clean clothes for pickup. On several occasions I have picked up my clothes to find either dog hairs, or I smell the smell of dogs when I am home. What I have done is now arrange to have my clothes picked up before 4:30, when Lupita is still there. I have been dropping off my dry-clean-only clothes to another nearby dry cleaner, but will discontinue doing so after ready others review of their dry cleaning capacities. When our dryer was broken, we would make a Sunday morning trek to the G.L. It was a nice little routine: load your laundry, snag a table at Black Hole, enjoy a latte, and hop on over to fold your clothes. I also like how they have free hangers and roomy baskets on wheels. Love this laundrymat and use it when in Houston. The staff is very friendly and the machines are dependable and clean. They can provide change and detergent. The Black Hole coffee shop next door is another plus - coffee drinks, pastries, cookies, free Wi-Fi, and comfotable seating while you wait. The combination is a big hit for me. read more

This laundromat is only a few blocks from my apartment which makes it awesome to begin with. I was pleased with my experience there. The place is clean, and there were plenty of available machines (I was the only one there doing my own laundry). The price was a quarter more to wash than other places in Montrose, but the fact that it's next to Black Hole helps make up for that. 6 quarters will get you 30 minutes in the dryer, but if you can spare an extra quarter or two, do it. I dried two fairly large loads for 40 minutes ($2.00) and they were completely dry. I do wish that the dryers had better heat adjustment settings, but it's nothing I can't live with. The ladies who work at the laundromat were super pleasant, and over all I enjoyed my experience. I'll definitely make this my regular laundromat! read more

Amazing that this experience was rather pleasant. I'm not saying that the ambience is fancy but it is clean and numerous machines to use - not like the other laundry we stopped in at where all the smaller machines were taken up by a lady doing a wash and fold service. The attendant who we bought portions of soap from ($1 per box) was competent and pleasant and spoke English - what more can you ask for? And also, another pleasant surprise was the Black Hole coffee shop next door - definitely a nice Montrose-type atmosphere which means not glitzy but comfortable with friendly people. Quiche was homemade and quite good. This place had the feeling of being a "throwback" to a simpler time. Some people probably who are younger than me might think this was a bad thing. But my Saturday morning turned out so much brighter because of having a nice place to do a boring chore. (our washing machine is scheduled for repair this week..) read more

Drop off your laundry and have them clean and fold it for you by the pound -- cost me $20 for a load of clothes and a load of towels/sheets. Drop in and do it yourself on the conventional machines for $1.25/wash and $0.25/5 mins on the dryer. They also have more expensive, but larger, washers and dryers for oversized items or double loads. The washes take about 31 minutes, so if you want coffee or a snack you can step next door to Black Hole (just don't leave your clothes in the washer/dryer after the cycles have ended). Open 7 days a week from 8 am - 9 pm -- last wash at 8 pm. No Wifi, but you can access Black Hole's (go get a coffee or quiche, they're yummy!) Keyed bathroom in back, carts for moving clothes, quarters for paying customers, laundry supplies, magazines, chairs, small lot and street parking, friendly staff, and a little art! read more

Graustark did a fantastic job! First time to use laundry services ever - couldn't get my white bleached at the duplex where I live (nowhere to pour the bleach & the lid locks once started). My whites were done perfectly & done in far less time than originally anticipated. She told me it would be Sunday, but it was done Saturday at 5! Wow, and the clothes are in good shape, i.e., not too much bleach, or too little, just the right amount. Awful place. Really old equipment that barely works, yet they still charge high prices for. If a machine breaks down while you're doing a load, then it looks like you are paying for that load again. During a recent visit, the magnets which hold the dryer I was using shut were extremely weak and the dryer door opened early in the drying cycle. Instead of closing my dryer door for me, the people working there chose to admonish me instead. If this place didn't have the best cafe in Houston next door I would never go here. read more

Well i see people come into Graustark Laundry with problems on them, then they trying to turn it on the lady's with the attitude working there then get on graustark laundry app's and talk down on the lady's and laundry room but i been going there since the guy have own it and now a lady is over it and she is very nice and polite, as me i still go there . You may need to lug your laundry from down the street, the coffee shop next door is quite busy. They have no large machines, only toploaders, Dexter Triple Load machines and small, very old dryers. I genrally use Dexter Mega and Maxi load or the large Speed Queens for $4.50. Here the triple loaders were $4. So what normally costs me $4.50 was $12. It took me five dryers instead of the normal three and you only get 5 minutes per 25¢ instead of seven to ten. So that was also at least double the price of a normal trip for me. When one of the dryers wouldn't fire up and was still cold after ten minutes (50¢) the attendant refused to believe me or touch my clothes or the window of the dryer door to see that it was cold, instead telling me that because the light was on, the machine was working. As we all know, if the power light of any machine is on there absolutely no way it could possibly be malfunctioning, EVER. Finally, there is an NRA sticker on the front door. After realizing my schedule really didn't give me enough time to get my laundry done in any really efficient manner I began to ask around for good wash and folds. Graustark Laundry came up every time. After I dropped off my laundry for the first time I can no longer understand why anyone does their own laundry. All of my clothes were expertly washed and folded so perfectly I thought they had to have used a machine. Also, they held some of my clothes back to see if I wanted them to be dry cleaned. I didn't, but I thought it was great that they were attentive enough to ask based on the garment tags. I can't recommend Graustark enough. Totally worth the 99 cents a pound and the drive back and forth. read more

How rudely I was treated dropping off my duvet and duvet cover for wash and fold service! I was treated as a complete and total imposition. There's a ten dollar minimum for credit/debit use and they just provide you with a roll of quarters. The machines are all very old--not sure if this is why many of my clothes started coming unraveled when that's never been a problem before. There are not very many machines--maybe 8 washers and 12 dryers. Don't make the mistake of coming on a Sunday afternoon like I did. There's also NO room to walk around--important when hauling your clothes from the washer to the dryer or to a (sparse) folding table. read more

I use their wash and fold twice a month. They are awesome. I can drop off at 5 one day and pick it up the next day. No time has my bill been above 30 and my bag is huge. They hang up any clothes that look like they could or should be hung. They are overly nice and willing to help. They also will just hang up delicate items and not dry them.
