AVOID THIS PLACE!! Been coming here for years. All of a sudden the new owner decides he will close whenever he wants, despite the posted times. Happened to me twice now, not going back again. The sign says that they close at 4pm, and last load is at 3pm. The last time I came there at 2:30. He tells me they're closed. I ask him why, he tells me he doesn't want me for a customer. So much for customer service. Read the rest of the reviews and you'll see similar complaints. The guy is wasting peoples' time and energy and doesn't care at all. I'm done with this place. read more

D & S Laundry - Laundromat Near Me - Houston, Texas

Closed permanently @ a month ago. Sign said lease problems. I see this more and more in this neighborhood. I'd recommend Soap Suds over on West Grey. Good parking, all new machines, friendly staff. read more

Barbie sends me a lot of DS, but when she makes money off me it's usually for doing things with D and S, so it makes sense. Regardless, this is a pretty standard laundromat on Westheimer which we have used twice now. And by we, I mean me, getting stuff done for Barbie, but look at her, so why would I not? It's not my favourite choice and used to be better, and Barbie used to go there by herself. It's gotten more expensive and a little less customer-friendly now, but I suppose a lot of laundromats have lately. read more

D & S Laundry - Airing all my dirty laundry - Laundromat Near Me - Houston, Texas

This review is about the self service laundromat. The couple seemed okay at first. I came one evening, and the wife came outside and told me they changed their hours, and now they were closing at 6:00. So I left and came back a few days later. It was quarter to five, all my wash was dry but I still had quite a bit to fold. The husband came right up to me and practically yelled "Hurry up, we're closing!!" I said "your wife just told me that you closed at 6:00 now." He said "I own it, I can do whatever I want!!" I finished as quickly as I could, and left without looking at him again. The next time I came, I went to the window to get quarters, and the wife treated me completely differently. She acted like I had done something terrible! After reading the other reviews, it seems like the husband doesn't have a closing time because he is on a power trip, and he enjoys throwing people out whenever he feels like it. I am looking for a new laundromat. read more

D & S is the best place to refresh your down stuff items! We have a cat that has a tendency to cough up hairballs on the bed, and, unfortunately, most of the time a little bit seeps through the comforter cover, even when we catch it and clean it up right away. Because of this, and the fact that there's inevitably going to be cat dander collecting in our bedding over time, we have to frequently launder our California king down stuff comforter. I generally avoid dry cleaning chemical solvents, but especially for our bedding, so I've been bringing our comforters to D & S for about 3 years now. They always do an excellent job. Our comforters are fresh and in great condition. I drop it off and pick it up--D & S takes care of the rest for you. Most importantly, it's very affordable (I generally pay ~$32). I also love that they'll use your detergent if you bring your own in, so I always bring in my ECOS detergent. read more

Doing laundry while on road trip. Ok place. Not most modern machinery and a little dusty. Most of the machines are in service and worked well. Staff friendly. Neighborhood ok. I'd Come again. read more

D & S Laundry - Machines - Laundromat Near Me - Houston, Texas

This place does a fantastic job with wash and fold. We dropped off our clothes and within 24 hours they were done. We have allergies so they used our own soap. The clothes were perfectly cleaned and folded. They are so well organized. If you are in the Houston area and do not have time for laundry, this is a fantastic option. We are at the medical care facility and do not have time to do laundry. So this was such a great find. We will definitely be back during our stay here in Houston. read more

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love these sweet people! We have taken our laundry here (wash and fold) now for over a year. They include little notes for our kids, sew holes (without being asked), sew on buttons and more. I highly highly recommend D and S Laundry! (after reading other reviews I'd like to add that we DO have great washer and dryers. I don't have to send out my laundry but choose to because they make it so effortless!) read more

D & S Laundry - This is the sweet personal touch I'm talking about! My 13 year old just found this in his laundry basket! - Laundromat Near Me - Houston, Texas

Like others have said, the place is advertised as open until 9 pm but here at 4:15 pm and it's closed with a sign saying someone will be back from 6pm-9pm. Not worth going to possibly have it open and waste your time. They get two stars only because I haven't used the machines to judge. read more

It was easy to find and clean environment! The lady working was friendly and the prices for machines was not so high.

Was not last wash yet... 6pm and owner wouldn't let me wash my stuff... lame. Not friendly go somewhere else.

I literally walked half a mile roundtrip in 90 degree heat lugging 30lbs of laundry happy that there was a place close by to do laundry.... To my surprise I got there around 5:50 today and there were chains around a locked door! No one inside at all, but a lot of machines open and ready for use. According to yelp it's to be opened until 9:30... but looking at the open times they only have the open time at 7am and no closing time listed. Like posh a sign saying you're permanently closed. read more

For my first time ever using a commercial washateria, this mom and pop place seems to be a good one so far after coming for nearly a year now. The owners are pretty friendly and will come up and talk to you, even though they are always busy cleaning or performing various tasks to keep this business running smoothly. Prices are pretty reasonable and even though many of the machines are old, there are some newer electronic display ones too. I've never had a problem with any breaking on me, or taking my quarters. They have 1 old TV mounted near the eastern wall of the wash area...and sometimes sports are playing on Sundays when I am typically there, so you don't have to miss any of the action while you're away from home. read more

I would avoid this place and take your laundry somewhere else!! Closing time is never consistent. Been kicked out twice at different times without being able to finish laundry. Once at 7pm and then once at 6pm. On the door the closing time is 8pm. Man is VERY rude! The woman that works there is very nice and helpful but the man is just awful. With the price to wash and dry going up while still using the crappy machines that may or may not work in a place that is outrageously hot and possibly getting kicked out because the man just feels like closing whenever....its just not worth it. Just bad business. read more

I came here to wash my comforter and it was mostly empty. They had different size washers all priced fairly. There's a shop connected on the side that sold detergent and anything else needed. The woman working was helpful. My only issue was the machines I used didn't say how long the cycle would last. I ended up using too many quarters for the dryer. read more

It's 9:06pm when I pull up and look him in the eyes knowing he stops at 9pm last load no later. I ask him please these clothes are for a patient in the hospital and the Wuashateria Down the street turned me away 10 minute prior. He said no problem no questioned asked. Great people in this world are looked past every day. Thank you vary much sir. read more

I have gone here for several years but no more! It's a Chinese husband & wife operation (with some hired help). Today when I arrived I noticed a large brown stain around the aisle facing the four washers I usually use. One of the owners was mopping. I asked what the stain was and he said "I don't know, maybe a large drink." He stopped w/o mopping my aisle (he went off to do some laundry - they have a separate launder & fold operation). I took the mop and mopped the area myself b/c I can't stand a dirty work area. I noticed there were stains on some of the chairs too, so I got clorox wipes out of my car and cleaned them up. I started washing clothes and then moved them to the dryer when I realized I needed to pee. I asked the other owner, the wife, for the bathroom key and she replied "The bathroom is closed; it needs to be cleaned." I asked when it would be cleaned and she said "In a few hours." Neither she nor her husband were in a hurry to clean the restroom and no restroom was available to customers (although there is a separate r estroom for the two owners and they weren't opening it!) I asked about what was wrong with the restroom, really pressed her for an answer and the female owner finally replied "There's shit everywhere." I said, "Did someone spread shit everywhere?" and she answered "Yes." I then explained: "You need to clean it now. I know that Chinese have a strong taboo about shit but Americans have an even stronger disaffection for dirty restrooms. I explained that it was important that they put a priority on cleaning the restroom before doing anything else. She looked at me as if I'd just disembarked from a spaceship. I explained that my wife was Chinese, that I understand the Chinese taboo about poo but nonetheless it was necessary to keep a facility clean. More staring and no response. I then explained that I would have to pack up my washed but undried clothes and go to another laundromat, that I would lose the money I'd already put into the dryers, and go to another laundromat, one where I could pee. More stares, no respose, no offer to allow me to use the executive bathroom reserved exclusively for Taiwanese Chinese owners. So I think that the stain I saw when I entered was the residue of some massive sewage backup or possibly an intentional shitstorm some customer generated, that the husband owner was covering up with his "spilled drink" explanation and that they give zero priority to cleaning up shit (literally). I guess it's just as well that I quit going there, since they won't clean up their shit in a timely manner. Their bathroom has no ventilation anyway, you have to ask for toilet paper before going in, and it is always in a poor state. I've put up with it until now, but they crossed the line today. D & S now stand for "Dirty & Shitty" (literally). read more

(Please note, this review is mainly for the wash / dry / fold service, not as much on the actual washateria portion). Time to give your washer and dryer a rest. D and S Laundry at 1613 Westheimer provides a remarkably efficient and customer-service oriented approach to wash / dry / fold. If you have never used a wash / dry / fold service, give these folks a try at least once - and you'll be hooked. Reasonably priced and (depending on the size of the drop off) quite expedient, D and S Laundry will wash, dry, and fold your clothes so all you have to do is drop it off dirty and when you pick it up clean it is ready to go back into the dresser, chest, or armoire. They will place clothes on hangars at your request (fill out the small slip completely, located at the drop off counter) and let them know if you have any special softener requests, etc. (or simply bring the bottle of your favorite scented softener d'jour) and you will enjoy the beauty of NOT having to do your laundry. Be advised, at a mere $0.79 a pound as of 3/18/08 you may not realize how the cost can rack up - but rest assured, you will be thankful of not having to do this menial chore on your own anymore with this fabulous Houston area laundry service. The time saving economic cost is really what makes this trip worth it. As to the washateria on site, I do not use it, but they have a very neat Ms. Pac Man gaming machine located below a wall mounted television. Catch the news and catch Blinky, Pinky or the other ghosts after you drop off your laundry. read more

This review is only for the wash and fold service; I've never used the laundromat...but DAMN they do a good job. I think the current rate (as of February 2010) is 89 cents a pound, which does add up if you have a large amount of clothes to drop off...but they will freshly launder, fold, and put shirts and slacks on hangers (if you have Dockers) and everything is ready for putting back in your dresser or closet when they are done. I do not use this service for all of my laundry but if I get behind on laundry...or life is just crazy...this is where I go. It is a luxury but during crazy times it's one less thing to worry about doing myself. read more

I had to wash several comforters and blankets for my out of town guests. Drove by Graustark Laundry but it was packed so I came here instead. On the plus side, the manager was friendly and helpful. It was also not that crowded. Cons are it's a pretty run-down laundromat. The first washing machine I tried was broken and it ate my quarter. There was also a dryer where the door kept popping open and stopping. And the interior was a little on the dilapidated side. The ceiling had water stained tiles. The machines were old. The manager was able to help me out with the mechanical issues and we got the job done in a timely manner. Overall, this place is A-OK. read more

Even though I have a washer and dryer at home I decided to go here to get all of my laundry done at once... it piled up for a little too long. Unlike all of the other reviews I used the laundromat as opposed to the wash and fold service. I don't recommend this. I've been to many a laundromat in my day and rest assured I will never go back to this one. It was downhill from the second I walked in. I went to get quarters from the machine, it was broken. The woman working there gave me change... and short changed me 50 cents. I then spent $7 to wash two loads of clothes. At that point the standing puddles of dirty water throughout the store had turned into streams with filth and old crackers floating around the floor. Finally my clothes were done and when I took them out of the washers they smelled like B.O. and dirty water!!! WTH! What a waste of my $!!! read more

Decided to wash the duvet while doing some spring cleaning. It wouldn't fit in the washer at home so I decided to try a laundromat near my house. This one has several different sized washers with many different options for washing your clothes. There are also tons of dryers. I was amazed that it wasn't hotter in the place. But that may have been because I was there on a Tuesday afternoon and there were very few people using the machines. There isn't too much else to do so bring something with you to be entertained unless you want to spend all your extra quarters on the Ms. Pac Man machine and gum ball machines. read more

I've been using D&s for my wash n fold for 5 years now, and they do a great job, usually next-day service, and their price is pretty reasonable. I use the wash &fold service here and it is done well. Organized and they do a good job. It is less expensive if you give them detergent. You can store it there . It seems to be cheaper than any other wash & fold service in the area and I have not had an issues with shrinking clothes read more

I use their Wash & Fold service every week and absolutely love it. The price is incredibly reasonable - and they take the extra effort to separate special-request items, like air drying delicates, hanging jackets, etc. Plus they don't use super fragrance-heavy detergent like other local laundromats - so clothes are fresh without being doused in perfume. Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, the couple that runs the place is beyond fantastic. They know me by name and always ask how my week is going. I always leave the place happy. Thanks D&S! read more

This is the most inconsistent laundromat, always closes hours before the sign says last wash, kicks you out before your clothes are dry, always dirty and no air conditioning. I only went here twice because it's so close to home but definitely don't risk getting stuck no sheets or clothes for a weekend. read more

This place is horrible. The machines are old and decrepit. The attendant in the wash and fold is rude and unhelpful. I told her the washer did not have hot water and she says oh well. The dryers do not get as hot as everywhere else. Stay away from this place read more

This review is dedicated only to the wash & fold service - have not used the laundromat side. I have never used a wash & fold service, but with no time to even spend at a laundromat this weekend, I needed to try it out. I went ahead & called them first to get details and such. The man I spoke with was very nice and extremely helpful. He told me it would be $0.85/lb. to get my clothes back by the next day and an extra $0.20/lb. to get my clothes back within a few hours. I gathered up my clothes and made my way over there. The man asked me if I was the person who called earlier and of course said that I was. As he knew that I was a new customer he offered me the overnight price of $0.85/lb. to have everything done in the 3-hour service. He even gave me the total price before I left and made sure to inform me as well that they don't take credit cards and only accept cash. I don't normally carry cash so I really appreciated that he told me that before I left. My special instructions included that my slacks needed to line dry which he took care of. I even forgot to bring hangers for him to hang my slacks on, but that wasn't a problem as he had enough hangers to suffice. I found a couple small, faint white marks on my black slacks, but they seem to go away after being wiped down. All in all, I'll definitely use this service again. read more

I had used this laundromat for years when my laundry got too unwieldy, but a successful career in real estate has recently meant I truly don't even have the time to tackle the laundry myself. So, I was advised to try their wash and fold service, and I am thrilled with how well that went. The price seemed reasonable, my clothes were neatly hung and folded and were ready when promised just 24 hours later. They have a customer in me for life. They only have scented laundry detergent options, so I'll be taking my own allergen-free detergents in future. read more

I went here to get a large number of my clothes washed, dried and folded for me! I couldn't have been happier with their service! I was very surprised how fast they got done several loads of laundry and even though it was more than what I normally pay to do laundry, it was well worth every penny as I got to spend more time with family and got numerous errands done! Thank you D & S Laundry for helping me get caught up on my laundry!! read more

This place is awful. I made the mistake of allowing my white comforter to touch the floor and I had to rewash. It's deplorable and even worse, the attendant has the worst attitude of anyone I've encountered in the service industry in a long time. Boycott it and watch it close. read more
