Very responsive with great service. Well, this is an update. We have loved going to grassy roots for years now even before they move to our hometown of Beverly. Yesterday we picked up some things and did not have the experience we usually do. Rather than outline it on yelp, I chose to send an email to the restaurant. They responded within hours, apologized, explained, offered some upgrades and solutions. They heard what I said, and are actually replying again with more info., An off day happens anywhere. I'll continue my trips to grassy roots, knowing that their high level of quality and Product is worth the price. Absolutely love this place. Whenever I'm in tow it's the first place I go. Fresh food and delicious. Owner is awesome.

I wanted to love grassy roots and I gave them many chances but every time I've gone the staff had been so unfriendly. Iv also noticed sometimes the staff making the smoothies and handling the food don't put their hair up which is very gross if you work in the food service industry. Food and smoothies are great but I don't think I'll be back. read more

It is so hard to find healthy food that's quick and nourishing. This place is definitely worth popping in to. Good and smoothie were both delicious. Staff was great. Lovely place, great service and the burrito bowl I had was tasty and fresh, but it felt like the dish was almost all rice. While there was ample avocado, there were almost no beans. At most there was 1/10, probably less, the amount of beans to rice. At one point I thought about asking them for more beans but I did not. Also, beware there was raw garlic in it, unless it was garlic powder, which left quite the afternoon taste. Going into this place thinking it's amazing, but really it's just over priced & overrated-- "The morning after smoothie" over powered with lemon. 12$ for one smoothie. I love Grassy Roots, expensive but worth it. Quality ingredients and a super friendly staff make it worth the trip to the new location. Wenham was easier for me but up the road and not too far into Beverly. The juices are just what the doctor ordered...literally!! read more

What a cute shop! Delicious sandwich options for breakfast and lunch. We had the tarragon chicken salad wrap, which will keep us coming back for more. There are a few barstool counter seats inside and a quaint gravel patio outside for some dine-in options. But only giving four stars since it was quite pricey. A sandwich and salad with a side of chicken salad ended up costing us nearly $30! This won't be an everyday place, but good for the occasional treat. read more

I agree with the other reviews about the serious lack of smiles and cold customer service one gets when they walk into this place. I got the chicken salad, couscous tabouli and seaweed salad. Three small little salad containers were incredibly overpriced and cost over $20. Not worth it. The chicken salad was tasty, as was the sea weed salad, but not worth the money. Also, note that this is more of a to-go place. There is very limited seating. I would not go again, based on the price of the food and lack of service. read more

Good! Chicken caesar wrap was really satisfying. Yeah, prices are high but the place is clean, service was quick even during a busy lunch rush, employees were friendly, and the food was quality. Was the only customer in the shop, and it took a minute or two to get helped - not that big of a deal to me though. The one star is because of the service and the prices. $9+ for a semi-cold "16 oz" smoothie that was only filled 4/5 of the way. She placed the smoothie on the counter, as far away from me as possible, told me the price, took my card, and tossed the card back on the counter instead of handing it back to me. Didn't ask if I wanted a receipt, didn't say anything. Oh, and none of the employees wear a mask. Considering they're dealing with food, and that masks are still mandated, that's a huge health violation. Not friendly, overpriced, and overall bad customer service. Not going back. read more

Came across this place randomly on a road trip. We were just looking for something quick and easy and ended up having one of the best meals of the trip. We had the most amazing wraps, sandwiches, coffees, juices and smoothies. The highlights for me were the Asian salmon wrap, the doctor juice and the iced cappuccino with oat milk. Highly recommend. Our expectations were a passable sandwich and we made a point to get it again on our way back. This place needs to get a location in New York City!! read more

I was a customer in Wenham for years. I ordered frequently at the counter, bought cases of wine and I was also a catering customer. Everything here is overpriced but I loved it all so I didn't care. Also staff was always very pleasant to me, unlike what others have said. But the day I went in an only the girl at the counter was wearing a mask was the last day for me. I would have walked out but I noticed everyone else was mask-less only after I had paid for my food. Also mask-less owner was leaning over the counter chatting with mask-less customer. This was right after everything had "re-opened" and before vaccines were widespread. Yikes - do they care about their staff OR their customers? Won't ever be visiting the new Beverly location. THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE GRASSY ROOTS IN BEVERLY! I was so excited try to out this new local breakfast and lunch place. But I was terribly disappointed. I thought since the had a location in Wenham, that they would be able to get things done smoothy and in a timely manner. But boy was I wrong! When we walked in it was just my sister and I, and it still took 30+ minutes to get our food made, and took the staff 3 employees to make my smoothie. The woman who was cooking the food stood in the lobby and not in the kitchen for 15 out of the 30 mins that we were waiting for our food. I get that she had friends there and was excited about the new location but don't you care about impressing your new customers? Probably wont return. read more

The reviews are all true. Staff is horrible and rude. NO GLOVES were used while handling raw vegetables to make my juice! When I asked the woman to remake it and wear gloves she snarled 'I didn't even touch anything'. As if I know where her hands may have been? Plus she had just finished ringing in a customer touching credit cards and money. She did remake it but not without huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes, as if me asking her to wear gloves (when she should have been wearing them anyway) was a huge inconvenience to her! She was extremely rude and condescending. I'm sure the board health doesn't consider ' I didn't touch anything' as a valid reason to not follow food safety rules. read more

The best muffins and scones you'll ever have in your life. Sandwiches are fresh and filling and the soups always taste great! Store is always clean and employees are friendly. Everyone treats you like you're a regular, answers any questions you may have, and makes you feel welcome. Every single option on the menu is delicious so you really can't go wrong. I was disappointed to see this establishment's brazen disregard for Covid-19 protocol. A prominent staff member (possibly owner) wore no mask when I was there to pick up my order. She served food and moved throughout the kitchen and customer area in very close proximity to her patrons, all with no mask and no explanation. Masks are required currently as part of MA State Covid protocol and Grassy Roots even had this posted at their entrance. I proceeded with my purchase but did not eat it. I will not be back to support a business who had no interest in assuring my confidence in their concern for my safety. Definitely a covid risk. Multiple people preparing food were not wearing masks nor gloves, including the owner. There is a sign on the door saying if you're not comfortable wearing a mask you don't have to. Appalling. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask don't prepare other peoples food. read more

Extremely expensive food. Infact, outrageous prices. 4.50 for a muffin or a hot drink. Sandwiches not always hot all the way through. Again overpriced. Sometimes there is an unfriendly attitude. I don't know if anyone is been to the store to buy organic produce but it's always more expensive than conventional, so would it make sense that this food would be more expensive as well?
