Chocolate Chia Pudding

This is my new favorite place! There were more vegan options than not at a very affordable place! I was overwhelmed with choices because they were all so delicious (and vegan!). I decided to try the Korean BBQ wrap, and it was absolutely flavorful and tasty. The ambiance of the place was cozy and inviting, with nicely set tables. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!

WOW! To think we almost turned around to leave. From the pics on Yelp we thought it was more upscale but it's very casual! You place your order then find a table and they bring it to you! After reviewing the menu we decided to stay and give it a go! SO GLAD WE DID! I had the butternut squash soup and Oh My was it delicious! A very generous serving creamy thick and slightly sweet topped with a swirl of cream and toasted pumpkin seeds! You could taste the ginger but it was not offensive! I paired it with the Fried Oyster Po Boy - home run on taste again! Stacked high with lightly battered very well seasoned oyster mushrooms on a hearty bun topped with lettuce - house made pickles- lettuce- and spicy aioli - THIS SANDWICH WAS THE BOMB! My hubby enjoyed his Salmon Burger topped with a basil aioli along with other trimmings! I had a nice Strawberry Hibiscus Tea/Lemonade it was perfect by my taste as no added sugar which I prefer! We finished it off by sharing a butternut apple bread pudding with caramel sauce! Boy was it good. Again not sickly sweet just right - rich caramel and huge chunks of apple. The staff is very friendly even checking to ensure nothing had nuts due to my allergies and the place is organic feeling and they locally source. It's small with only 7-8 tables but it was not crowded at the time we arrived. Seems like they do a good book of carry out orders!

Grassroots kitchen was a good way to kickstart our Tarrytown weekend. Healthy options all around. From drinks, soups, meals - something for everyone who views the menu. Comfortable and small. Spacious for a bigger group towards the back or a few seats at the front.

Fantastic venue. I wish there was something like this in every city. Delicious offerings with excellent service. Grass Roots Kitchen in Tarrytown is a casual eatery associated with the Sweet Grass Grill and Tomatillo. You can go order at the front desk and then sit for your food. We had some amazing chocolate chia pudding, cookies, buckwheat pancakes (my favorite), and kombucha (terrible nutritional information suggesting that there are less carbs than sugar), and coconut chocolate bites. I highly recommend. Explore their website's menu.

Delicious vegan options. We had the buffalo cauliflower bowl and Philly burrito. Would absolutely stop here for plant based options

Remembered this place was great so gave it another try while I was in the area. Was craving a cheese burger when I saw the menu. I also ordered a smoothie. The smoothie came out quickly, but the service for the food was very slow. Though my friend who ordered after me got his food quickly. I saw my cheese burger and assumed it was mine, waiting to be called out, but I saw the person at the counter keep looking at the tickets and food, and organizing it but not quite calling names. I should've just asked but didn't want to assume that it was mine. She did call out my name after 10 minutes. I was genuinely confused because she was standing there, looking at the tickets and saw my burger but didn't say my name earlier. I'd assume if orders are ready that you'd want to call them out shortly after they're done...

4.5, cute stop for breakfast or lunch with healthier and seasonal breakfast and lunch options This is a great spot for bikers because they have outdoor seating with plenty of room for bikes. A nice escape from the hustle of the Main Street area. While they have a decent number of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options (salad, soup, breakfast), they also have grassfed beef burgers, chicken and fish. They also have smoothies and juices. I liked the veggie wrap, with the variety of filling. Not a cheap place but you also don't feel yucky after eating their foods.

Great restaurant with farm-to-table type food that is surprisingly vegan-friendly. I ordered one of the vegan pastas and really enjoyed it.

Korean bbq wrap

You go to the counter and place your order, then they'll bring you your food. You get your own water, utensils, condiments, and water. The service is fast. I ordered the Korean bbq tofu wrap. It was good, but kind of tasted tasted like scrambled eggs with kale... there was no bbq taste at all... truly a breakfast burrito..

I ordered take out and my order was ready on arrival. The staff were super friendly and there were so many options on the menu. This time around, I opted for the tobokki and some mochi donuts. The tobokki serving was large. The rice cakes were dressed in a perfectly balanced sauce, alongside a ton of veggies. This perfect balance of spice and sweetness is really what made this dish stand out from other places. And the donuts were just *chefs kiss. My son and husband love these so I had to pick some up. This is one of my favorite places for this dish. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. I'd definitely recommend this gem!

I'd describe this as Korean style food, ordering like chipotle, not crazy spicy unless you want it to be. Very approachable, healthy, well cooked food that was made with care. The spicy pork was great as was the purple rice. I missed out on the mochi donuts by seconds as the group in front of me took all they had left. The food was reasonably priced, I felt there was value had but not cheap in any way. If you are looking for authentic Korean experience, probably not the right place but this was definitely a great find and will keep it in mind for a tasty healthy option on those nights I just don't want to cook.

Though not huge, their menu is plant based with an assortment of brunch/lunch items like bowls, salads and interesting sushi, as well as smoothies and other drinks. If you're open to vegan food and uncommon items in a western diet, you'll enjoy it. The pad thai slaw and sushirito were delicious and well made and everything on the menu was inviting. The teas were lovely and I really enjoyed being able to select a blend of herbs for my tea mug. There was some herbal water available, and a selection of desserts on the counter and in the fridge - chocolatey delights like "snickers" bars. We found a corner next to the stage with two armchairs and a coffee table which was the coziest corner to sit and chat. Though it was Friday afternoon at lunch time and there were several other small groups, it never felt crowded and we were able to stay for a few hours enjoying our tea and meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and non-intrusive. You order at the counter and then sit down, and we were not disturbed at all besides our meal being brought to us when it was ready. Parking is limited but at least they have a lot. It's a short walk into the main part of the town. They also occasionally host events. Looking forward to returning!

Service was great. The cashier charged us for something we did not order and promptly sent a refund. They didn't have the salads and burritos from the previous menu but the owner told me that the menu items will eventually return. Will definitely come back!

I'm sure you've never heard of him because you're too young, but we worked for JAQUES MAXIMUM. A little Napoleon that could get the same results even better results without screaming constantly! Nothing like being the only woman in the kitchen and having a bunch of Frenchman, screaming obscene words at you in both English and French. Why I tolerated that I still don't know I really wanted to learn. I was on the line with Alfred Portale, and was his commis. He opened his extremely successful restaurant after Jacque decided he had had enough and went back to France. He came every two weeks straight from the airport and started screaming before he even saw anyone down the long hallway. I'm truly not kidding. Alfred warned me don't look the CHEF in the eye. I think that's the first thing he ever said to me. Then the Anita Hill hearings happens and the backlash was incredible. They would sexually harass me every day and then ask me was I going to sue them? I'm not a violent person, but I felt like taking a kitchen knife and never mind. This was my first job in a good Kitchen and the manager had cocaine running out of his nose when he was telling me that I was only worth three dollars an hour. I didn't go to some fantasy school. I went to the school of hard knocks. My husband and I spoke to Mark a very nice guy, at least to us. Most people don't want to get any feedback and that's a big mistake. We gave him. Our feedback thanked him and left it at that he thanked us as well. We really were restaurant consultants. It's so easy to see what's wrong in the kitchen and what's dangerous in the kitchen at first glance and then when you dig deeper, oh my gosh, it's a wonder we even eat out anymore. We kept the box it is called BETTER BUCKWHEAT. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND NOT TERRIBLY OVERPRICED. I think someone might be making mistake when stalking the shelves for crackers and other snacks. Two wonderful ladies were sitting right in front of where the snacks are and when they started looking, we found a few items that are not vegan at all. We don't know how to send this privately, otherwise we would. Phone is terribly compromised. We love your Restaurant and wanted to succeed more than you can believe. We both have been vegan since 1996. We were both vegetarians at about age 11. We really appreciate your great work. Sorry we are terrible at technology and also the phone. She ain't so great.
