A Discovery! A new BBQ place in Selma we stumbled on. This place specializes in Chicken, Ribs and Tri-tip take out from its compact location on Front Street in Selma. We bought a rack of ribs and got a dozen or so large, meaty, and very flavorful ribs. meals were reasonably priced. We were very happy. The place is run by a couple of young chaps who are starting out in the BBQ business. They have the smoker running out back. AMAZING! seriously the best bbq I've ever had. You can tell everything was slow smoked to perfection as soon as you make the turn in the corner you can already smell the smoked flavors! I knew as soon as i got out of my car and smelled everything i knew the food was going to be amazing and the meat quality and quantity you get for the price you pay is definitely worth it! Oh and don't forget the delicious Mac and cheese! The Mac and cheese alone i would drive all the way here for considering i live in Lemoore! It is a very small spot and only outside seating but that's what makes it great, yeah know the food will be worth it if it's a hole in the wall type joint! The owner was very nice and I even had a nice conversation with him. I am hardly ever in selma but on this particular day I was just in the area for a meeting and I will defintely make this my go to spot whenever I'm around this area. Finally, an authentic BBQ shack in town! I ordered one of everything on the menu, which is refreshingly small, and absolutely loved all of it aside from the potato salad. The chicken was moist and seasoned perfectly. The ribs were so good that when I put sauce on then I actually didn't like it, they taste perfect by themselves, and that's from me, a sauce fanatic! The tri-tip was cooked perfectly, not chewy like some places, and went great on the sandwich roll. As for the sides, The mac and cheese is awesome. Smothered in real cheese and topped with crispy breadcrumbs. Get it. The beans are my go-to side along with the cornbread. A perfect combo and extremely flavorful. The potato salad, a little weak, but hey, you can't win em all right? All in all, I've had BBQ all over the valley, and there are certainly places that are great like this one, but if you're in the selma/Kingsburg area there's nothing better than this place. I just hope they can handle all the customers and still have some ribs left for me when I go! read more

My husband and I have been searching for a good bbq place nearby and stopped here for lunch because of other reviews here. We were a little put off by the exterior and super tiny inside but the food and service is so good! I had the tri tip sandwich and my husband had the ribs with baked beans and cornbread. Everything tasted fantastic and the guys in the shop were really nice! They were all out of the mac n cheese but were making more so we ordered the whole chicken meal with the mac for dinner! There simply aren't many places left like this. It's small, unassuming and almost missable if you aren't looking for it. It's perfect. A friendly father and son run this place and you are greeted as you walk through the door. U can usually judge a place solely based on it's mac&cheese and this one is unlike any other version I've tried. The tri-tip is tender and not fatty (which is my personal pet peeve when it is). The corn bread wasn't ready when we got there but sometimes waiting for something fresh can make all the difference. Thanks guys. We hope you will consider coming down to so-cal someday. Had tritip sandwich. Flavor was good but the cut was a bit tough and a little dry. BBQ sauce was tasty Nephew and I both had Mac and cheese. He thought it was pretty tasty but it wasn't anything special to me. Cornbread was flavorless and so dry. Coleslaw was excellent and would recommend. Decent BBQ for the area. love this place! my sister is a regular here and put me on to it, the people who run it are so sweet and their food is sooooo good yum!

I brought home three different plates (ribs, chicken, and tri-tip sandwich) for my family and I tried a little of all of them. I must say, they were all good. The ribs had great flavor. The chicken was moist and was a large half chicken. The tri-tip was tender and had a good smokey flavor. The Mac and cheese was on point as well as the beans. Unfortunately they were out of potato salad. The owner said he just threw it out because he doesn't like keeping it long (which is a good sign that he sells it fresh). Although it appeared they were in the middle of making more Mac n cheese, he said he would make some more potato salad if I wanted to wait abt 30 mins. The corn bread was good and the owner just sliced it up right from a pan when I ordered it. The BBQ sauce had excellent flavor but it was a lil too runny for me, very good nonetheless. For the amount and quality of food that I got (I also got an extra hot link and corn bread) it was very light on my wallet. I definitely recommend this BBQ joint. read more

You're going to smell this from the outside and be drawn in & you should definitely follow your nose. This bbq is insane and the smoky scent will linger on you hours after the meal is done which is not a bad thing at all. I don't know what is in that magical sauce but I think it's made by angels and hints of chocolate maybe? Locally owned family joint. BBQ is great. Had the trip tip, ribs, and pulled pork. The BBQ sauce is homemade and full of flavor. Owner is friendly and puts his heart into his Q-ing. Didn't get to taste the home made corn bread due to LoCarb Diet, but my man friend said it was good. Potato salad and mac & cheese are homemade. I had a nibble to taste it and it was pretty darn good. I would say this place is a great place altogether to get some takeout. Good job! I will return :) read more

I just finished half of my tri-tip sandwich and mac n cheese(I'm stuffed!). Let me just put it this way...As long as the Grapewood Grill is open, I will be a loyal customer. This tri-tip was SO tender, and cooked PERFECTLY. Plus, it's on a really good sandwich roll. The Mac and cheese is REALLY something special. Just be sure to get some. You won't regret it. I can't believe I waited this long to check them out. P.S. It's always nice to walk into an establishment and see them having a good time at work.
