Was in the area and stopped by this place yesterday thanks to Yelp. The food was FIRE! They close at 6 and I was probably one of the last orders but the guys there were very friendly. They are pushing out QUALITY FOOD! My husband and I both got the Tri-Tip sandwiches with beans and Mac and cheese as well as some cornbread (huge pieces btw!) WE absolutely loved it!! The meat is extremely flavorful without the bbq sauce and with the bbq it just gets better. The Mac was amazing and the beans with cornbread topped everything off. We will definitely be back again! We didn't take pictures because we were sooo hungry but I'll definitely get some next time. read more

So this is hands down the BEST bbq spot I have tried in the Central Valley! I wish they would open one in Fresno. Smells delicious inside. Workers are kind. Great prices, and everything is made fresh. Tri tip is juicy, seasoned, Smokey, and grilled to perfection. The bbq sauce that comes with it is sweet, and tangy! I've never had a bbq sauce like this! It was perfect!! The macaroni and cheese is the best I've ever had from anywhere other than home made by myself or friends. And I know Mac and cheese! The hotlink was perfect! I did not expect to find excellent BBQ in Selma yet I did. I ordered a bit: chicken, mac & cheese, beans, corn bread, and ribs. The BBQ was fall-off-the-bone tender and tasty. The beans were packed with flavor. The cornbread was really legit and the mac & cheese would make your Grandma smile. I can see why this son and father team won the Selma BBQ competition last year. This place has great reviews. When I pulled it before 12 it was empty, got me tripping like wtf!?!? Are they opened? They were going to open. We were greeted with a we're open. Today I met two wonderful human beings, hardest working people I've met in a long time. The food they prepare in their small establishment is waaaay better than any big traditional restaurant chain. A true hole in the wall. I got a tri tip sandwich with mac & cheese, beans, coleslaw and cornbread. The tri tip had a nice smoky flavor and the bbq sauce that came with it had a nice kick to it (wish it was a little more though). The beans were too sweet for my liking and the coleslaw was just ok (KFC's is better). The mac & cheese and cornbread were both very tasty. I was a little turned off by the fact that the man at the counter didn't use gloves to grab our food. He pumped some hand sanitizer into his hands before grabbing our food but I don't think it was enough. Drove from LA just to try this spot, and it didn't disappoint. I got the pulled pork 8oz sandwich meal, along with the Mac and cheese and potato salad. The bread was nice and fresh, the meat was tender and fell apart easily. The bbq sauce was very flavorful with many different flavors. Mac and cheese is a must. I'm an eater and must say I was full. The meal comes with a lot of food. I met the owners (dad and son), very nice people. You can tell they take pride in their quality of food and they welcomed me. Friendly guys over there with a literal pile of grapewood in the back. Family owned and operated. I stopped by on my way through town and was not disappointed. You enter the front door and are greeted by the front counter and enough standing space for 2-3 people. My husband wanted bbq and so I came to Yelp to see what was available. Grapewood Grill popped up. FYI they're closed on Mondays. Their bbq is amazing. The ribs were some of the best ribs I've ever had. They were so tender and the dry rub they put on, is outstanding. The tri-tip sandwich was very good too. We got the baked beans, Mac and cheese and potato salad to go with. All the sides were really tasty. I think we've found a new bbq place. Small, no bathrooms (you have to go across the street to the Lawnmower Repair shop (great people) but the food is AWESOME! Don't blink, or you might miss this tiny building on an off street in Selma, but then again, great Selma restaurants like to hide away (Sal's, anybody?). Owned by a wonderfully helpful man with some help from his father, Grapewood Grill has no indoor meal seating (there are about 5 chairs if you choose to wait for your take out and not call ahead); it's basically a stand-alone kitchen, with a few grills out back which, if I'm not mistaken, might be fueled by some torn-out grapevines. The menu is on the limited side, but not in a bad way. Focused on tri-tip, chicken, ribs, and sides, the owner focuses on making few items and making them well. Today, they also had a special on pulled pork, so there was a bit more variety there. We ended up ordering a tri-tip sandwich, a pulled pork sandwich, a hot link sandwich, and sides of cornbread, mac n cheese, baked beans, and potato salad, giving us a good hold on most of the menu. They made everything quickly except for the hot link sandwich, which is made to order (whereas the other meats are already grilling out back). We took our goodies home to try them. The best? The macaroni and cheese. My husband described it as "Southern," I simply say it's tasty, and definitely the best thing we got from them, enough to return for alone. My second preferred item was the cornbread, which wasn't overly sweet, but the perfect in-between flavor, and I'm not normally a fan of cornbread. The other two sides were great as well, they've really got their side game down! As for the meats, I feel like I have to pick this apart a bit. I didn't enjoy any sandwich as a sandwich. However, I really liked the cook and flavor on the tri-tip and hot link (not spicy). The pulled pork wasn't my favorite, a bit mushy, but Tristan enjoyed it, and he's more of a pulled pork person than I am. This leads me to believe it was probably the bread I didn't enjoy as much. However, delicious meat from the grill, and that's what they're really banking on. Their BBQ sauce is on the runny side (rather than thick), and sweetish/vinegary. Unique, not my favorite, but still yummy. Overall, I'd be happy to come back, and remember to call ahead this time. I'm curious about the chicken and ribs as well. No pinto beans around here, nothing but TEXAS BBQ. I've been totally missing out on this local place in my town, how dare of course. I decided to hit this place and I was amazed on the smell of good wood burning and REAL smokers cooking outside this small establishment. Pretty small place, it was only meant for picking up food and nothing else. No sitting down just straight pick up and nothing wrong about that. Two workers were very nice and easy going, all smiles and laughs. Customer service was on point, so the food matches the service and speaks for itself. I ordered a whole full chicken, two sides, two cornbread pieces and you won't believe it was all priced for $14.50. That's amazing, the food is enough for four-five people. Too me that's a steal, and worth the price. Chicken was on point with the seasoning, and juiciness. Macaroni and Cheese was unbelievably delicious, never had it their way. Potato salad was great also, just the perfect amount of seasoning and veggies. The BBQ sauce was definitely homemade, was just in perfect harmony of balance of sweetness, salt and peppercorn taste that I love. The bread was a little dry, but edible. Overall I need to come back and try more meats, next on the list is the Tri-Tip. Was told its killer and I will find out for myself it they can bump the four star rating into a five.
