I paid for the order and wished a good day! Clean, safe and practiced. 8/06/22 Happy Sunday everyone! Got breakfast ready per usual. Panini split. My half was really delicious! Nice, spicy kick with the fresh jalapeño! The jelly donut was great! Tasty filling, fresh donut and great chocolate frosting! Large too! Leftovers! Have been stopping by The Bears Den a lot more lately and always happy with the donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Recently had a bacon/egg/cheese croissant that was amazing! Ask them to warm it up for you and it is the best way to start your day! The donuts always taste great whether you get there before work or during a lunch break. Great location in Selma. Glad they have been here for so many years and hoping for many many more. read more

We have gone a dozen or so times since my review, the last few times a younger gentleman helps us he is short with us and seems like he doesn't want to help us. We got three breakfast sandwiches and they were all cold. Wondering if I did something wrong am I supposed to specify I want them warm? The service is absolutely horrible. I called in an order she didn't hear me correctly because when I picked up my order and got home two of my sandwiches were wrong. One of them was missing egg and the other bacon. So I went back and told them both my sandwiches were missing an item. She said no that's not what you said. I said lady I know what I said, my husband was in front of me and he heard me. Never in my life have I had to argue with a business owner. After a couple minutes going back and forth. She started cooking the bacon and she continued arguing with me saying that's not what I said on the phone. I couldn't believe it, she kept going and going. As I was leaving she was still arguing and I'm sure she said some disrespectful things. The worst customer service. Will not be going back. read more

Great, fresh and reasonable pricing. This donut business is always packed with vehicles and people dining inside, it had a great buzz and the items speak for itself. The bread is fresh but quickly you will realize the quote, "early bird gets the early worm" saying kicks in when half of the pastries in the glass it's gone even tho the bread was cooked recently. I was bummed about the Strawberry-Cream Danish was completely gone. I will return for that Danish and hopefully that day will be my day. Service is great, all smiles and thanks you comes along way when establishing a business, and felt welcoming. Melinda is a pastry master. She's always bringing out something fresh and tasty. I've never had a bad donut, danish, or cookie. I stopped in today for a sandwich to go but had to have one while I waited as well. It's finger licking good. My sandwich was filled with so much flavor. The service was spectacular, as usual. Long drive up the Fresno from LA and this is the perfect stop for a drink and pastry. The staff are super friendly and their section is epic! I settled on a mocha iced coffee and ham cheese jalapeño pastry. Only mark down is a bit more coffee in the mocha and wifi would be great Will definitely stop here again read more

The gentleman who works there always seems to deny my requests. One day I asked for a breakfast bagel that the lady there always makes me, he told me he had croissants so why order bagel? Because that's what I get at your establishment buddy. Then today I went to go get a sandwich and he told me he didn't have turkey after already telling me he couldn't toast the sandwich without breaking his toaster. I'm so confused by this place. Was excited to see a local coffee/donut/bagel place near by as I'm new to the area. I was excited to get a breakfast bagel sandwich, one of my favorite things to eat. Unfortunately the bagel was incredibly bland and chewy, they didn't toast it just microwaved. And I ordered the caramel mocha drink, although tasty I didn't taste even a little of caramel in it. I'll give this place another shot and try other things on the menu as it'd be nice to love this place given it's so close. If I have better experiences I'll definitely update my review. read more

I've lived in Selma but I've never really gone here but my siblings recently took me here and I love this place. I tried a cronut here for the first time and it was delicious! I loved buying my morning coffee, donuts and my fave the buttery flaky croissants, when Melinda was here!! I believe these are her cousins who run the place and I'm very disappointed. They have definitely changed the recipe chocolate glaze for the donuts and the croissants as well. They don't have the same taste and the texture of the croissants are a bit tough now. I usually don't write reviews because I tried giving this place a chance a few time when this new owner came but today I decided I will no longer support this business cause my croissant was terrible. read more

Besides the employees being friendly I wouldn't recommend it. The place is dirty and you have to ask for napkins because they will not give you any. When I visited, there were 4 people on staff and the tables were filled with crumbs. I had to clean my own table to eat my breakfast sandwich. The prices are decent. I was in Selma for business and stumbled upon this little gem. The FRESHEST sandwiches and friendliest service that you can get! There's only two women there and they're the sweetest. I just feel really bad because each time we came in, they would be swamped due to lack of staff and we would come in a mob whenever we did come in. And if it wasn't us, then there's other people who came. Especially worse on a Friday since a lot of the high school staff nearby go there so make sure to call in your orders! You can never go wrong with the combo sandwich deal which comes with a drink, chips, and ..... A DONUT!!! And all for such a good price. Literally a steal! I have come back several times but I just feel bad that one is always cranking out sandwiches nonstop while the other one is ringing up costumers the whole time because they get that busy. Maybe it's time to invest in another person to help? Highlight of The Bear's Den: freshest ingredients (the greenest avocados, bean sprouts...which are never carried by restaurants because of how quickly they spoil) and friendliest staff ...the younger lady knows all her regulars, greets them, and converses with them. After the shop changed owners, the donuts have felt soulless. It certainly is a craft to making pastries. The problem with the donuts now is it feels less crunchy and a very flat coating of frosting. The donuts used to be very crunchy and had a good fluff to them with a good amount of very tasty maple glaze. They used to make a mean bearock, but idk if the quality has changed since the acquisition. read more
