My husband and I had a really great time on our tour. We didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had with our fellow tour goers. Our guide, Kris was very knowledgeable and so friendly. She was attentive and let us know what to expect. She truly made for a wonderful customer experience. We toured three great wineries: Lincourt, Beckman and Vega. At Lincourt, Blake greeted us warmly and had really lovely explanations of the wine and what pairings would go well with each. We ended up joining the wine club as Lincourt also has Napa locations we'd like to try. At Beckman, Kip was so knowledgeable and taught us all about the wines we were tasting and helped us pronounce the French names and even shared some Italian. We had to join the wine club as the wines we sampled were delicious and the price points reasonable. At Vega we loved the cool breeze, the lovely seating and most of all interacting with the llamas, bunnies, piglets and most of all the baby goats. One goat we nicknamed "Blackie" even let us scratch its head. We would go on another tour with Grapeline Wine Tours in a heartbeat and in fact we are planning our next one now. 10 out of 10, would do this again.

Our wine tour with Carry as our guide was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly nice and went above and beyond in his attentiveness. He made my bachelorette party so relaxing and enjoyable. Carry was also great at communicating and took amazing pictures of our group. Each winery brought something unique to the table. Vega Vineyard and Farm stood out with its amazing vibe and plenty of activities to enjoy. Brander provided a lovely introduction to the day with its intimate setting, while Foley offered an elevated and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a delightful wine tasting adventure!

Bill and I had a WONDERFUL time celebrating my 70th birthday with Chris on the wine tour! The wines on the flight we tried at the first stop, Firestone weren't that great, except for the Cab which we both purchased - but the wine AND Dan at Koehler Winery was the BEST! I wish we'd gone back twice instead of going to Vega - it was a dinner/winery - the waiter/wine guy was so busy he didn't spend a lot of time with us discussing the wine and the amount was about 1/2 what is normally poured - plus there were kids running around and although it was unusual to tour their little "zoo" - we didn't pay to see animals (or SMELL animals) we paid to drink wine. I would not recommend them for future tours, IMO. All together I would definitely recommend your tour to anyone going up north! Thank you for a great celebration!

I love using Grapeline Wine tours! I have used them for 3 different wine countries in California. Most recently, the Santa Ynez tour. It was fabulous! Kris was a great tour guideline/driver with knowledge and experience! Safest way to visit wineries without a designated driver!

What a wonderful wine tour!! Our host, Kris, picked us up 5 minutes early so she had some extra time to drive through Solvang and give us some restaurant recommendations for the next couple days of our trip. She took us to some awesome vineyards and even stopped for an impromptu olive oil and honey tasting! Kris had a yummy lunch ready for us after a couple of tastings (make sure to make your lunch selections when you book!) and we enjoyed our last tasting with lunch! We were also celebrating, and she had a lovely message written for us at lunch as well. She made a special effort to take all of the wine we purchased and set it aside for us in a wine box in the trunk of the vehicle so we didn't have to worry about our bottles rolling around in the van. If you are on the fence about booking, I would recommend it! We were so pleased with the experience that I will be booking Grapeline again when we visit Paso Robles in the Spring.

This was great experience. Even with rain catching us at the last winery. Wines were excellent and service from our guide and hosts at the wineries was impeccable. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Antonio was an excellent guide with lots of knowledge and courtesy.

I've been on several wine tours & this by far was the best! Our your guide Carrington was AMAZING! He provided history about the things we past on our tour as well as insight on the 3 wineries we visited - Andrew Murray Vineyard, LinCourt Vineyard & Gainey Vineyard. In addition to visiting the wineries, we had an extra bonus of stopping at Rancho Olivos Olive Oil Estate. And the group we toured with from Ranchos De Ontiveros Estate Vineyards made the tour even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Grapevine Wine Tours & Carrington!

I've previously done a tour or two with Grapeline but it had been years; I'm happy to report they remain a top notch company! I had some questions in the days leading up to the tour that were easily answered by the folks answering phones. Our driver, Cary, was fantastic. He was very punctual, kept the schedule, dished out great knowledge of the local region, and kept the ride fun with great music. We visited Vega, Foley, and Andrew Murray. Each tasting was done outside at a table with our group of six total (2 in my party). Luckily we had a fantastic overall group so it was great to get to know everyone. Lunch options are excellent. This tour was well organized and very fun! They take you to 3 different wineries where you'll sample at least 5 diff wines at each winery. The servers are also very nice and give generous pours. Anthony was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide and he was so friendly. He answered all our questions and never made us feel rushed throughout the tour. This was the first time my wife and I have done a wine tour. I can say I was a bit hesitant only because I am not a big wine drinker...that said I am actually glad I did! The day started off with Michael picking us up at the arranged pick up point. We arrived and Michael was already there waiting on us, he was just as friendly at the end of the tour a as he was when he picked us up. Michael was very knowledgeable about much more than just the wine tour, he was a great source of information about much of the surrounding area, when Michelle ( Regional coordinator) told me Michael was their best driver that was an understatement. This was one of the best things I have done in a very long time. Everyone from Michelle at Grapeline wine tours to Michael were without a doubt extremely professional, courteous and very easy to work with! If you are in the Pismo Beach area this is a great way to spend the day with that special someone and meet some of the nicest people out to have a good time as well. We met couples today from all over the Cali area including one amazing couple from Scotland and a young Psychologist and friend that really made the day great... all and all today was a great friggen day! Thank you to everyone involved in coordinating today and to the people we were fortunate enough to meet today thank you for making it a memorable day! read more

Our host for the day was Steve and he was awesome. He was very nice and talked just enough. Steve was also very chill so tip him big! Michelle also helped us through the process and she was great! A simple phone call turned into a 20 minute conversation because she was so cool and easy to talk to. The whole trip was great and very fun. History

Established in 2002.

Started by wine lovers John and Kim becasue they love being in wine country... but couldn't afford a winery. Wine tasting is most fun when a friend with some insider knowledge and connections show you around - and acts as your DD. That's the idea behind The Grapeline. The Grapeline was selected as the Sterling Business of the Year in 2005 & 2024 by the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce and our Champagne Goddess (a.k.a President) Kim was named as Temecula's 2010 Citizen of the Year.

Meet the Business Owner: John K.

I'm John -- Grapeline's Co-Founder / Chief Wino who works super hard to make sure we offer the best of wine country. I sample scads of different wines. I hang out with winemakers during crush, sampling wines. I spend the day out among the vineyards, sampling wines right from the barrel. I nosh on delicious goodies, while sampling more wines. All for you, because I care. Tough job, right?

My hubby loves red wine, I love white. Both of our tastings were really good. I discovered a new white varietal I hadn't tried before. The Rousanne. It was so good we purchased a couple bottles and joined the club. Our host started out shy, but ended up friends with my hubby before we left. It was a lovely tasting and I would definitely do it again.

They were a bit more heavy on the cabernet sauvignon that I would expect a central coast winery to be, but it was good stuff. The best one of course was the last one, which was the Ten Goal. Really well rounded and full bodied red with lots of fruit. I ended up shipping 2 bottles back home I liked it so much. Loved the vibe here and how down to earth they were. I hate the snootiness of wine culture and there was none of that here. Just really well made stuff. Will be back next time I'm in town!

Santa Barbara was a bucket list stop for my girlfriend, and we booked the 2:00 p.m. trolley tour…read morehoping for a well guided introduction to the city's history and landmarks. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the more disappointing parts of the trip. The seating is tightly packed. I understand maximizing capacity, but at 6'6" it was not comfortable. We moved to the front right side where there is a sideways bench behind the driver, which offered more legroom. That felt like a smart move until we realized most of the sights being pointed out were on the left side of the trolley. It felt like about 80 percent of the tour was oriented that direction, which meant we were constantly twisting around and still missing details. If you book this tour, sit on the left side. The narration also felt disorganized. The driver mentioned he was reading the traffic flow incorrectly and ended up doing much of the route "backwards." Because of that, he would introduce a historical figure or landmark, then later circle back and partially repeat the same information when reaching his usual talking point. There was noticeable repetition and filler instead of a smooth, cohesive storyline. Midway through the tour, there is a stop at Mission Santa Barbara for about 15 minutes. While it is nice to get off and stretch your legs, 15 minutes is nowhere near enough time to meaningfully experience the mission. You can walk through the courtyard and take a few photos, but that is about it. The mission deserves more time than a quick pass through. In practice, the stop felt more like a checkbox than a real opportunity to explore. Another frustration was departure time. The 2:00 p.m. tour did not leave at 2:00. The driver waited past the scheduled time to see if additional passengers would join. When you are visiting from out of town and carefully stacking your schedule, those extra 10 to 15 minutes matter. Overall, for about $30 per person, I expected a more polished and better organized experience. We both left disappointed. If you want a meaningful introduction to Santa Barbara, you may be better off exploring key spots on your own at your own pace.

Tom our wine tour guide was such an encyclopedia of winery trivia that it became a game to see how much obscure info we could get from him (what are the names of the winemaker's dog at every winery?). He also rose to every other challenge with a smile and a nod, like going back to the third winery for my camera while we tasted at the fourth winery (thanks, Tom). A Grapeline wine tour is simply a great way to waste away the day. If you do the Vineyard Picnic Tour like I did, you'll taste at four wineries and eat a tasty picnic lunch set on a pleasantly well-appointed picnic table with real linens and real silverware. All for about $100 per person, which was what the limo we checked into would have cost us sans lunch, sans tasting, and sans a driver who knows wine country and everyone in it like he spends every day out there (which of course he does, lucky bastard). read more

Our Grapevine Tour of Buellton area wineries was absolutely perfect from start to finish! Our tour guide Kris was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, as well as being very sweet and funny and generous with her time, and she made the day wonderful. We were two couples, one celebrating birthdays and the other celebrating a wedding anniversary, and we were all made to feel special. The whole experience was awesome! We visited three superb wineries (Blackjack, Buttonwood, Fess Parker) and were given a special treat of olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings (Rancho Olivos) as a surprise. We drank excellent wines, we had a delicious lunch, we spent quality time with Kris, our super-fun travel companions and the incredible wine experts at the wineries. Who can ask for anything more? read more

I've been on a Grapeline Wine tour twice and they did not dissapoint. Our guide Tom, who we were lucky enough to have as our tour guide both times, is extremely knowledgeable about all the wines and the local wineries. We were picked up from a hotel in Solvang and from the beginning of the tour Tom did an excellent job in trying to personalize the tour, taking into consideration the preferences of everyone on board. He is extremely engaging, energetic, and accomodating...you can tell that he enjoys his job and that attitude is truly appreciated. We really enjoyed ourselves both times and am looking forward to using their services in the future I highly recommend Grapeline Wine Tours and am glad that we chose them. read more

Just got back to Arizona after a perfect week in Santa Barbara, and the highlight was our trip to Santa Ynez wine country with our walking wine encylopedia named Tom. A more perfect wine host could not be found. Tom was hospitable, accommodating, fun, and eerily knowledgable. Try to ask him about a topic he does not have some arcane story about, I dare you. The highlight of the trip, other than the constant supply of terrific wines, was the picnic lunch which was the best picnic lunch in the nicest setting I've ever had. Just a sandwich and a cookie, really, but what a sandwich! Be aware that it is a LOT of wine and you might miss your dinner plans due to unexpected wine-induced napping. read more

I love the Santa Barbara wine tours! All of the wineries on the tour are beautiful and staffed with professional, informative and friendly guides. The shuttle picks you up right at your hotel and drops you back off at the end of the day. The Grapeline drivers and tour Guides are top-notch! Extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly! Grapeline is a wonderful company to work with for booking the trips.....excellent customer service, very attentive staff and completely affordable rates! A little over $100 a person for a full day's wine tasting, great food and tons of fun for your friends and family?? What a steal!! We had an outstanding experience in the Santa Ynez wine country with our Grapeline tour and driver Steve. Steve was very welcoming, knowledgeable and engaging. Beautiful wineries and he ensured that every part of our day went smoothly -- made us feel like celebrities!! Lunch was yummy too. Plus, it was our wedding anniversary and Steve went above and beyond by providing us with delicious mini cupcakes - very thoughtful and a nice touch :) It's great to know of a company who treats their employees well which in turn generates outstanding customer service. A wine tour getaway to the "American Riviera" is one guilty pleasure that is also a reasonably priced luxury escape during "difficult" economic times. The Grapeline picked us up curbside from the Canary Hotel (great place, see my review) and after collecting 6 other tasters from a nearby hotel, we were off to wine country. The guide told us a bit about each winery on the itinerary, then polled the audience for preferences. Then, he completely changed the itinerary to better fit the mood (off-the-beaten-path wineries, in this case). The improvised winery choices were perfect. The picnic lunch was delicious and the very pretty lunch setting was a nice touch. read more

Our first time with Grapeline tours. Fritz was our guide and what a guy! Funny, informative, and special. We happened to be the only guests, and you still took care of us over this holiday season. It was a wonderful experience and Fritz's knowledge was remarkable. Paso Robles was more than we had hoped for. We will back to visit our son in 2 years and we will be calling for another tour, hopefully, with Fritz, again. We have never taken a wine tour but I can't imagine anyone else giving us a more special experience. Lunch was special and our time with Fritz was unforgettable. Jack B. This is the third time that my wife and I have done the Grapeline tours. It has always been a great time. This time our driver/guide was David. Like others before, David was a knowledgeable and fun guide for this day of tasting and learning. Having managed companies for years, it is clear that this company is well organized and knows how to show their guests a good time. If you are in the wine country and want to have a great day, sign up for a Grapeline tour. I think you will actually get a lot more out of the day than trying to do the tours on your own. Christopher took us on an incredibly journey through the wine country to four estate wineries. Each winery was different, providing plenty of variety and excitement. Our tour guide, Christopher, was the only constant throughout the day, and was by far the best part. He was patient, knowledgable, and informative. He knew many things about each of the wineries and provided better information than some of our tasting room servers. We had such a wonderful time on this trip, would recommend it to anyone new to the wine tasting in this area, and would gladly go back into the country with Christopher as a guide. read more

my husband and I recently took a Grapeline wine tour in Solvang area. It was our Anniversary and I have taken this similar tour with girlfriends and thought my husband would also enjoy it! It was the Best!!!! We had the bus to ourselves (which was probably because it was on a Monday) But it was Fantastic!!! They driver was great! the lunch was delicious and the tour was outstanding! He let us pick a few that were not on the list. It was a perfect Anniversary!!! Picked up at our hotel and then dropped off!! Will definately do this again and again! read more

It was such an awesome experience for me and I enjoyed every single moment. Our tour guide (Carey) was one of the best people I've ever met. He was very knowledgeable and professional and made my first experience unforgettable. He was a real gentleman who cared about his guests and gave us such a good info in advance about the city and all the places that we visited. We had a total blast on this tour! Christopher provided excellent service, was knowledgeable, timely, and fun. We did the Santa Ynez tour and the wines were mediocre, for the most part, but Sunstone Winery was terrific. Bill was by far the best tasting room guide we had for the day, extremely professional and a true expert. Lunch from Panino was terrific and the winery kitties at Roblar were the highlight, very hospitable. Thanks so much to Grapeline Tours for the outstanding experience. We just took the tour in Santa Barbara a couple of days ago and had a wonderful, full day. David and our driver, Mary were perfect. Every aspect of the tour was great and very timely from the pick up to the drop off. There were 22 of us in the tour bus and we all became friends! I am a travel agent and would definitely refer this to my clientele. Lots of good wine with a very nice "picnic" lunch included. My only recommendation would be to leave each winery with a glass, as we did with two of the wineries. read more

I absolutely love this company! They have the nicest people working there, Dana and Tiffany, you guys are beyond excellent! Their drivers are timely and courteous... Their tours are excellent... Their relationships throughout wine country ensure their customers a much better overall experience. My boyfriend and I took a tour from Santa Barbara through the Santa Ynez Wine Country. We had an amazing experience. The bus wasn't too crowded, the other couples were a range of different age groups and all a bunch of fun, the driver was great and friendly and since we were the last to be dropped off, he took us straight to our doorstep! I would recommend Grapevine to anyone! Can't wait to check out the Temecula Wine Country...and ill definitely be using the Grapevine :) read more

My best friend and I had the best experience with grapeline wine tours. They provided us with scenic routes to each winery, 3 beautiful wineries to taste at, and a great lunch. Our driver Anthony was an absolute blast and made the experience that much better! He gave us a ton of knowledge on wine and let us jam out the whole time. We went for our anniversary on a very rainy and windy weekend! We had an awesome time despite the weather! We were picked up in Solvang and the people at all the wineries were friendly and very helpful. The truffles and red wine were exceptionally yummy! We started out as strangers on the bus, but ended up the best of friends by the end of the tour. Tom the bus driver did an excellent job. I would recommend the Grapeline to anyone. We had a great experience with Grapeline! We were a group of 10, and we did the Le Petit tour to three wineries. Our guide, Steve, was kind and easygoing, and kept us on schedule without being pushy at all. The picnic lunch from Panino was delicious, and it was so nice for each member of the group to have pre-ordered exactly what they wanted.
