Rick was fantastic and clearly has a real passion for both wine and the Santa Ynez Valley. The van was clean, comfortable, and roomy for our group. Because of our schedule we could only do the afternoon tour with two wineries, but it was still a great experience. The second winery was especially wonderful -- they clearly knew Rick, the service was warm and welcoming, and you could tell everyone genuinely enjoyed what they do. The first winery was beautiful, although the service there was a bit slow. What really stood out was that Rick went out of his way to give us recommendations for things to do afterward, which made the whole day feel very personalized. Overall, first-class service and a great experience. Highly recommend! read more

There's an obvious reason why Wine Canyon Tours maintains 5 stars.. Rick was absolutely fantastic. A premium experience without the frills. Tours can always be a little daunting but our experience was 10 stars throughout the entirety. We actually wished there was more time! We toured 2 wineries & went to an olive oil/lavender farm where we were able to munch on some snacks. We even made custom charm necklaces at this stop! There was something for everyone on this tour. Expect scenic views, great wines, & a beautiful experience through and through. Rick offered a flexible pickup, was kind, and extremely knowledgeable about wines and the surrounding areas of Santa Ynez without being pushy at all. As a group of 3 girls we felt totally safe and I would 1000% recommend this tour to friends & family!! Thank you Rick for the great time & memories of a lifetime! read more

I reviewed Wine Canyon Tours back in 2017 and have since used their services four additional times. I'm coming back to double down on my five-star review! They continue to provide an excellent service and they have consistently created wonderful memories for my friends and family. In fact, on my most recent tour, my significant other (unbeknownst to me) worked behind-the-scenes with the owner Rick for an extra special surprise... a marriage proposal. It. Was. Perfect. Rick helped to curate the most amazing experience both scenery and wine wise! He even helped my partner book a local photographer to capture the moment. It was amazing. Thank you so much Rick! Please book with this company! Oh and, PS: I said yes. ;-) read more

My sister found this company through a web search. We were a small party of 4 and had the luck of being the only tour group booked, none of us had ever been on a wine tour and we were so lucky to have chosen this company. Rick was on time to pick us up, was very friendly, super knowledgeable, and made sure we had a wonderful time. The lunch time picnic was delicious. We even had the opportunity to visit Los Robles olive company in addition Would highly recommend Wine Canyon Tours. Thank you so much Rick for making my birthday so amazing. read more

Professional, excellent and customized service! My bf and I had a wonderful time with Hawaiian Rick as our tour guide through the beautiful Santa Barbara wine country. The food was delicious and fresh. I loved his personalized touch with the tables settings! We had such a memorable and beautiful day together! We booked the wine tour for a family get together. We booked a day or two prior and Rick was able to get everything scheduled and ready for us. (I'd recommend booking directly with him and not through a third party to make it easier on both him and yourself.) regardless of the cumbersome third party booking site, the day went incredibly smoothly. We'd been to SB several times before so we had an idea of new places we wanted to see and Rick was so knowledgeable that we were able to visit wineries that were beautiful and new to us. He's great company and the lunch he ordered was delicious and fresh. read more

Looking for one of the best (if not THE best) wine tour in Santa Barbara, Wine Canyon Tours with Rick Reeves is it. With 3 incredible stops along the way, your taste buds will dabble in the fine collections of over a dozen different wines. Looking to spice things up? There is a olive oil tasting included, which includes my favorite - Jalapeño olive oil. The hours are roughly from about 10am-4pm, which gives plenty of time for each stop + time to learn about wine country in between with behind the scenes information from Rick himself. Rick is extremely accommodating, genuine and professional. This keeps it fun & what will keep us coming back. CHECK IT OUT :) read more

We had a great experience dealing with Rick! I am SO GLAD I chose Wine Canyon Tours to celebrate my 30th birthday! We had a private tour of three of the most beautiful wineries I've ever seen. It was great to not have to worry about planning or coordinating anything. Rick took care of absolutely everything. Rick was an amazing tour guide and was able to teach us about the region. We went during COVID and felt very safe. In the van, we all wore masks. All the tastings were done outside in the most beautiful places. Also, we didn't expect to enjoy the food as we did. There was a wide variety of options and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Every last detail of the tour was fantastic. I'm happy that I came home with some yummy olive oils and wine to remind me of our tour! I would absolutely do this again! I highly recommend Wine Canyon Tours! read more

I work in the hospitality industry so I have very high standards when it comes to anything travel and leisure. Rick totally exceeded my expectations! He arrived exactly on time, in a beautiful and air conditioned buss. He was dressed professionally, super nice, accommodating and friendly. He went above and beyond every step of the way. He took us to a gorgeous lake which is pictured below, then we went to three beautiful wineries and an olive oil tasting. For lunch you get to pick anything off the menu and Rick goes to pick it up during the tasting so it's nice and fresh. He then comes prepared with plates, napkins, placemats, chips and waters. He even surprised us with an extra special treat. We felt like VIP's at the wineries because rick takes care of everything for us. Rick is very knowledgeable about wine and very friendly. We had an excellent time with him and I would highly recommend him for any type of group tasting. read more

If searching for a wine tour company, go with this one. All the positive reviews about Rick as a tour guide are pretty accurate. We went on a recent wine tour for my girl friend's birthday and had a great time. He was everything you could want in a guide: punctual, informative, fun, easy-going, accommodating and an overall great host. He was flexible and helped us change our plans when we decided we wanted to learn more about the process behind making wine. Along with our tour, we learned more about the area, were able to take some pictures in front of some beautiful sites and listen to our own tunes during the tour. I would definitely book with Rick again and recommend him if ever I needed to go on a wine tour throughout the Santa Ynez Valley. read more

Rick was a fantastic tour host. These wine tours were unlike any other we had been on, particularly because they had a more personal touch. Rick was engaging throughout the tours and also had us tasting at a winery where we talked to the owner the entire time. He even took us to an olive shop at the end, completely unrelated to the original tour, and helped us retrieve a phone that one of us had drunkenly left at a restaurant the night prior. read more

Rick was amazing!! We went to 3 wineries and had lunch in between and the service was awesome. Will definitely do again!

Hawaiian Rick was the perfect guide into Santa Barbara wine country. He was very informative about the vineyards as well as the community. The tour was top notch from the very beginning. Hotel pickup and custom designed tours are something they specialize in. Every single winery was stunning, delicious and private. I will absolutely be back and request Hawaiian Rick! I have had the privilege of taking four wine tours with Wine Canyon Tours, and eagerly look forward to the next trip. My friend and I try to take a girls trip to Santa Barbara at least every few years and wine tasting is always at the top of the list (just behind staying at the Biltmore). In 2011, we found WCT online and liked that the website showed a photo of Rick (the owner) and his dog; it felt personal and like a nice vibe. We chose wisely, as Rick showed us a great time. He was super friendly, but laid back, knowledgeable about wine, but not in an over-the-top kind of way, had a comfortable ride and made sure we were well taken care of. We toured with Rick twice on that trip. On our last trip out west in 2016, we also toured with WCT twice. Rick's company had grown in those few years and our great experience got even better; the vehicles were upgraded, comfy as can be, and plenty of room for our cases of wine in the back. On our first outing, we went with Rick and he gave us an amazing VIP tour, visiting ranches and tasting rooms that you would never see on your average tour. Rick is very well connected and respected in the industry, which I'm sure aids in these 'special visits'. My friend and I are very interested in wine (snobs, if you will) and after learning what we liked, Rick tailored our trip to meet our tastes and interests. The second tour of that trip we toured with Dave, who is also awesome. As soon as I stepped foot into the vehicle and heard Scarlett Begonia's playing, I knew he was a good fit. Musical tastes aside, Dave is an absolute wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about local history, the Chumash people, Channel Islands and more. We had selected a few tasting rooms that we wanted to visit that day, and Dave filled in the gaps beautifully, taking us to wineries that we were not yet familiar with, yet became instant fans. Lunch on the dock at Pence, watching the grebes swimming and red winged back birds dive into the reeds is a particularly fond memory. I should have written this review some time ago, but as I prepare to visit SBC wine country again, I am reminded of our incredible past trips. I would never consider touring with another company, and neither should you. read more

Words cannot describe the customized, amazing experience we had today. Rick had a knack of listening and customizing our experience down to every detail and made the day one to remember. He has a way of connecting with his customers and taking the time to tailor the entire day based on preferences, even the tough ones. He's very well versed in the region and was able to meet our specific tastes. We cannot wait to come back and won't look any further than Rick and Wine Canyon Tours. read more

I booked my wine tasting adventure with Wine Canyon Tours so my friends and I could enjoy a day of wine tasting and celebrate my birthday without worrying about driving or which winery we should go to. I left the rest to Rick Reeves, and he did not disappoint. With over 25 years of Santa Barbara County wine industry experience, Wine Canyon Tours gives you an informative and adventurous, yet casual exploration of Santa Barbara wine country. We spent the weekend in Santa Barbara to celebrate my husband's birthday. This was our first getaway since covid. I contacted Rick and told him what I was looking for and the types of wine we liked. Rick booked everything for us. He picked us up on time and took us to some beautiful wineries. My favorite wineries were Pence and Bella Cavalli. Rick also offered to pick up a cupcake for my husband which was really sweet of him to offer. We had a fantastic day and I will definitely use Rick again the next time we're in Santa Barbara. read more

From the minute Tony picked us up, to the time he left us, he was the consummate tour guide and gentleman.

Rick was the best!! We booked a private tour for 2 and learned so much about the Santa Barbara wine region, the history of the wineries we visited, and Rick made it all a lot of fun. Rick coached us up on the 5S's (Sight, Swirl, Smell, Swoosh, Savor) and created the perfect environment. He even got us bonus tastings at the wineries! Thanks again, Rick, and we can't wait to tour again. read more

Our experience with wine canyon tours was literally the most phenomenal thing ever! Rick Reeves-- owner really outdid himself for us. It was by chance that nobody else signed up for the tour so it was just our group but Rick even let us pick our wineries and got us into a beautiful private winery when one of our options waisn't available. Our driver, Hawaiian Rick, was early, super fun, friendly and knowledgeable. He had us laughing the entire time, took all the pictures we asked for and let us really take our time. If you're torn between this tour and another, choose this one!! You won't regret it's they're so nice and ultra professional, you are garanranteed an amazing time. We were wanting to do wine tasting in Santa Barbara but due to Covid private tours were only available. We ended up going with Wine Canyon Tours and couldn't have chosen better! We started off the morning by getting picked up by the owner Rick and headed to a first winery called Bella Cavalli. All I can say is WOW. It was by far the most peaceful wine tasting I ever had and the grounds were beautiful. We had the pleasure of tasting wines alongside the winery owner. We were so impressed by his hospitality and such fine wines, we ended up purchasing a wine membership there. Rick then took us to two other amazing wineries with our own private tables and provided a delicious lunch for us. Rick was very knowledgeable in taking us to wineries that had wines up our alley. He was so kind to capture photos of us along the way with such scenic backdrops, so we have these memories to remember forever. You're in good hands with Rick because he definitely knows the wine region and makes sure you have a fantastic time. Thank you Rick!! We hope you don't retire soon because we will be back! read more

I went with three of my girlfriends to the Wine Canyon Tours and we were lucky enough to have Rick give us our tour! It was all of our first time in Santa Barbara and from the moment Rick picked us up at our Airbnb he gave us so much excellent information and historic facts of the area throughout the trip. We went to three wineries and found them all to be extremely clean and fun. The sprinter van we were in was clean and sanitary. It was a perfect variety, each unique! Rick clearly has a great relationship with each winery because he knew everyone there. We felt like VIPs in this experience with the best tables and service! At the second winery he set up a lovely lunch and we received out pre-ordered sandwiches plus chips, cookies, and water bottles. He also took us to a Olive Oil Tasting with the cutest dog. We got some amazing tasting olive oils that I've never heard of before. I would highly suggest this tour because of the knowledge, easy, and already planned out fun for us to enjoy. This was a great service from start to finish. Our tour guide knew wine and the local wineries very well, and was very friendly and helpful. I have done a few wine tours in the Santa Barbara area, and this by far was the best experience of them all. We took the train from LA to Santa Barbara, and our driver Rick picked us up straight from the train station right on time. He drove us to three amazing wineries based on our taste preferences - all were great but my favorite was the first one called Beckman. Wine was outstanding and they gave huge pours! The second winery called Vincent was fun too as we got a tour of all the wine barrels and got to taste straight from the barrel! Rick was so knowledgable and friendly- he truly made an effort to get to know us and chat with us the entire way. He even included an olive oil tasting for us and a Starbucks stop on the way back to the train station. This was such an amazing day out for my girlfriends and I, mainly due to Rick and how he took such good care of us. Can't wait to take a tour again with Wine Canyon Tours! read more
