The inn is clean, modern, friendly staff. The restaurant and deli as well as the gift shop are not to be missed. The Gelato here is by far, one of the absolute best tasting outside of Rome Italy! (Gelato at " Tre Scalini at Piazza Navona in Rome is listed as world's #1). There are many flavors here at Granzella's, but my favorite, (and as good as the one in Rome) Italy is their chocolate! If you love chocolate you won't be disappointed. The restaurant food is delicious, some menu items offer authentic Italian, and generous portioned. Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable. An absolute must stay. Quiet, VERY clean, everything is better than a motel. I even noticed the new door hardware, ceiling fan over the beds, giant TVs, fresh-baked cookies in the lobby daily, along with lemonade and iced tea, and the breakfast area is A+. The pool and spa area are so clean. The restaurant, the sports bar, and the Italian deli are in the same parking lot. Even charging stations for your electric cars. Indoor corridor, safe! No mention when looking online that there are no elevators to get up to the second floor with luggage if that is where your room is. Pretty standard room. Bathroom has awkward layout and small. Stopped here on our way back to Portland and again they did not fail! Staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, a great rest while on the road! We travel with our dogs and it's tuff to find decently priced, well kept places to stay that allow pets. We were looking at pet friendly hotels in the Sacramento area on our way there. While Steff was booking the app indicated the room was no longer available. We were at the Williams exit and I went over to Granzella's to see if they had a pet friendly room available and they did. When I found the room price was only about $15.00 more than the other hotel I was pleasantly surprised and booked immediately. The hostess was very nice and helpful and we love the room! I usually stay at name brand places however I was pulling a uHaul and a trailer and saw this place had RV parking! Indeed there was lots of parking and it looked safe and secure. Didn't have a reservation, but the counter person found me a nice room at a AAA rate. The room was nice and clean. TV worked well. Even had some cold water in the mini fridge. The inn was clean, staff polite, and had adequate dog walking areas. I thought breakfast could have been better; it was all prepackaged but did have fresh fruit. Bed was too firm for my tired body but we did sleep. It was quiet at night. My only major complaint and maybe a deal breaker for me returning was the mosquitoes! stayed one night January 2024 and I was very impressed with this little place. staff was friendly and they had coffee and a fruit basket in the entry way. the room had all the amenities you could need and they still have a breakfast room. typical stuff: hardboiled eggs, yogurt, string cheese, cereal, toast, bagels, waffles, juice and good coffee. (i can't remember everything there). for dinner all you have to do is walk across the parking lot and you're at the restaurant! We enjoyed a great dinner there too. We needed a place for an overnight stop and Granzella's in Williams came up as alternative to the Holiday Inn Express (HIE) in Willows. We chose Granzella's for three reasons: the price was right ($80/night for our stay), the convenience of having a restaurant / deli owned by them across the parking lot for dinner after a long driving day and Yelp reviews were good. There were some hits and misses here. Bottom line is for this low price and for a one night stay we'd recommend it to others. This is owner operated place with pride of ownership evident. But enough awkward elements as misses that next time we'd choose the HIE instead. Here are the details: ROOMS: Clean, small rooms and comfortable beds, although the bathroom was awkward with a door that barely cleared the commode. Which my husband pointed out was a small, round front commode. (Guys notice these things. ;-) ). STAFF: The people at the Inn are friendly, although you may find yourself placed on hold for very long periods when you make reservations as they seem to have but one person answering phones and checking in customers. NO ELEVATOR: Here's an important note for folks who cannot navigate stairs,this property, although relatively new and with majority of rooms upstairs, does not have an elevator. The best rooms for privacy and quiet are on the second floor, so be prepared to lug luggage upstairs if you can climb stairs. There are about 18 stairs in total. If there is a good news about this, the stairs are inside not outdoors. BE VIGILANT ABOUT FIRST FLOOR RESERVATIONS IF YOU CAN'T CLIMB STAIRS: When I made reservations, over a month in advance of our trip, I was specific that I could not navigate stairs. I said I didn't need an ADA accessible room (they have just 1 of them I am told), I just cannot walk up more than a couple of stairs due to MS related mobility issues. I was told the hotel policy is they do not guarantee first floor rooms given they are apparently in high demand and short supply (seems few want to haul luggage or navigate small children up all those stairs) but they would be certain one was assigned for us given the reason. I thanked them and said were they not able to guarantee first floor I would stay at the Holiday Inn Express where elevator was available. No problem, I was assured. To be absolutely certain this happened, the day before our arrival my husband called to ensure we had a first floor room assigned. He was assured we did. On check in, when it was pretty clear as I walked up to the front desk that hiking up a flight of stairs wasn't going to happen, the woman at the desk said she was surprised to find (as were we) that we had been put in a second floor room. Hmmm. Or arrrrggghhh. Then she did the work of scrambling things up to find us a first floor room for the night...while the phone rang off the hook and she had to ignore it as she was the only staff on duty. I share this to reinforce for folks who MUST have first floor rooms, you'll need to be vigilant about that assignment here. And for people trying to call for reservations, if you don't get an answer this kind of minimal staffing issue is why. RESTAURANT ACROSS PARKING LOT: We received a discount coupon for food at their restaurant or deli when we checked in. You can eat well enough there if you choose carefully. We'd recommend eating in the bar for friendlier service as long as the abundant taxidermy on walls and standing about doesn't trouble you. The deli is good and the convenience store has a host of options for take out if you'd rather do that. Try the gelateria in the deli - good gelato! CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST: Considering the restaurant across the parking lot, I was surprised they offered a continental breakfast on prem. The breakfast room is impossibly cramped, so not a pleasant place. We're pretty happy with a banana and yogurt in the morning, so that worked for us to grab and go. But I was tempted to make a second visit to deli's gelato bar for breakfast take away. Seriously. read more

There are so many things I dislike about this hotel. First off the staff is so extremely rude. The lady with short dark hair that wears a mask at the front desk is raging mad. She made me so uncomfortable with the way she was talking to customers. But after reading the other reviews, I can see that I am not the only other one who thinks that the staff is so rude. Our room was upstairs, we had a ton of luggage and guess what, no elevator. The room looked clean besides the curtains which had stuff splattered all over them. The air conditioning hardly works and the air it pushes in smells so mildewy. The hotel is older. It is what it is. Won't be staying here again. read more

Being 102 degrees outside we stayed in our room for the afternoon noticing how loud the air conditioner was. Upon retiring to bed we realized that the air conditioner was going to keep us awake and it did. ALL NIGHT! Constantly cycling and in the last cycle it sounds like a B-52 Jet Engine in your room!! Too bad this place has gone so far downhill. We'd stayed here a few years ago because they had a good pet policy so we booked it again in January. Mistake. To start things off, the young woman at the front desk had a piss-poor attitude and refused to wear her mask properly. Strike one. The condition of the room was also shockingly bad. The AC unit didn't function properly so we couldn't get the temp right as it kept shutting off. The room also had worn out sheets, a dirty toilet seat, a cracked sink, bad shower caulking, and pubic hair stuck to the shower tile. Strike two. To top it all off, the water was lukewarm, so no hot water the night we checked in nor the morning of departure. Nothing like a lukewarm shower on a freezing January day. Strike three. I booked a double king room for the night of the Lantern festival. Unfortunately the festival has been postponed with no new date. I called about cancelling and since I did it through an app they couldn't do the refund it was entirely up to Granzellas. Well they immediately refunded my room. I was very impressed and called them directly to thank them. I will for sure book this room again when the festival happens. Recommend based entirely on customer service. What wonderful service from Sandi!! I was rolling through here to meet my gf before heading out to Ukiah. My sister called ahead and asked Sandi where we could park the car for a few days in Williams, and Sandi took over immediately. She took the proper steps to make me feel safe and attended for, and offered up plenty of helpful resources and took down my Information. Next time I'm coming through, we would stay at granzella's inn hands down :) We also went across to the restaurant who had delicious potato skins and a nice beer while I waited for my Gf. We stayed the night, before the hubs went to a training at Thunderhill Raceway. The room was great! Our Golden was welcomed right away and he was the first to test out the bed (of course). They have great patches of grass for the doggie bathroom needs and even provided waste bags by the front door. My favorite feature was the ceiling fan! First hotel I've stayed at that had one- it was lovely for the downtime's in the ac cycle. Our room was clean, lots of fresh towels, and yummy papaya soap and shampoos. The bagged continental breaky was a bit lackluster. (They also offered yogurt and coffee, which I skipped). Breaky options: coffee, juice box, banana or orange, yogurt, and a granola bar. But I do appreciate the struggle of this Covid world, and was happy they had some offerings. Staff wore masks and at the front desk there is a plexiglass barrier. Masks are required in hotel common areas. Lots of parking. Great overnight stay overall! read more

Mini king suite with AAA discount 129.00 on a Friday. Plus they give you discounts to the restaurant and gift shop. The room was very clean and spacious. Guests are directed to a side entrance to check-in or access the building in general. Construction in the reception area was happening. A makeshift reception is set up. The temperature of the building was awful: muggy, hot. The side door was propped open for the entirety of my stay. The temperature outside was 90F+, likely the reason the temp of the hallways was terrible. Reception told guests that construction should have finished last week. Not helpful. The room was OK. First impression is it was clean: beds and pillows were comfortable; towels were a bit stiff/scratchy but clean. I was walking around my room with no shoes on and I kept stepping on what seemed at first to be little rocks. Turns out there was kibble throughout the room. The pool area was clean, but it had gravel on the bottom. I never ended up going in the pool. The second afternoon, my key did not work. Reception tried to "charge" the keypad and that didn't do anything. I was informed that they had no way to make keys, so anytime I wanted to access my room, I had to go to reception and have them unlock my door. This is terrible. I generally leave my room frequently: to vape, eat, shop etc. This made me feel awful to have to ask to have my door unlocked and many times reception was busy with other guests. I finally received a new key around 830PM. Again, not helpful because I was about to turn in for the night. Paying for a room and not having access for 6 hours of my stay is just ridiculous. The only reason the review got higher than a zero was because of the friendly and apologetic staff member. read more

It looks nice enough to start, but isn't really very clean. The carpet in our room looked okay, but felt crusty under bare feet. We found an item left by a previous guest. We spilled water on the bathroom floor, so mopped it up with a white towel, which was decidedly not white after. The spa pool was broken. The exercise room has only a bike and an elliptical. We were in the area for the Woodland Celtic Games & Festival. My sister booked the hotel for us after seeing pictures online of the pool and hot tub area. It cost us about $300 total between our two rooms for the night which for a higher-end hotel isn't bad, it just shocked us as we are used to Motel 6. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a lot of dead animals on the walls. The bear on the balcony was pretty cool to be honest, but most of the animals just seemed out of place. If it had been a hunting lodge theme or something it would have been okay but it felt like someone saw an empty space on the wall and decided to stick them there. While my dad was checking us in, we enjoyed some ice cold pink lemonade from a very cute refreshment table. They also had some sort of orange tea concoction but it wasn't very sweet. The pink lemonade was to die for though and they had cookies too. We got to our rooms and we're pretty impressed. The lamp had USB ports in them for charging our phones, so that was pretty cool. We changed and headed down to the pool almost immediately. This is where the place loses a star. Luckily my niece's boyfriend trailed behind a bit. We'd left our room keys with my dad and when we went to the pool, the door shut behind us and my niece realized you need a room key to get back in. That made no sense to us. It seemed a little silly that you don't need a key to get into the pool but you do to get back into the hotel?! We went back upstairs and got a key, then returned to the pool. It wasn't heated at all, it was ice cold. When we finally got the courage to jump in, we could see the clouds of dirt swooshing away each time either of us took a step. Gross. There was so much dirt on the bottom of the pool, we decided to check out the hot tub instead. It was almost as dirty as the pool so we got out pretty quickly. My niece and I dragged over a couple of lawn chairs to take selfies by the pool (yes, we are just that extra) and had to brush off the mouse droppings first. We enjoyed the rest of our evening in our rooms, aside from having dinner at the Granzella's Restaurant. The bath tub was pretty nice. I forgot my shampoo and conditioner at home, but the ones provided by the hotel were surprisingly nice. The breakfast was pretty awesome. The only disappointment was that they didn't have a waffle iron. Even Days Inn usually has one! I had a massive breakfast consisting of a banana, Honey Nut Cheerios, a pastry, a yogurt, a hard-boiled egg, some coffee and a glass of orange juice. I definitely want to go back at some point, but hopefully next time they'll have cleaned the pool. It was THE thing that made us book our rooms there. TL;DR Hotel was beautiful. Yummy breakfast. Great place, quiet and clean. The beds were alittle hard but surprisingly I slept really great especially with the plush pillows. Spacious rooms. #1 favorite was the shower pressure!!
