The reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is they sell a lot of Doughboy pool parts. And while Doughboy is great quality, their parts are over priced in my opinion. Also, I recently bought a new Doughboy liner from them and while the price was ok I guess, I was very limited on the liner selection. Doughboy needs to offer a far greater liner design selection in different thickness options.

The team sent a repair crew who expertly trouble shot and fixed tub and they educated us further. Terrible experience with Randall at Sierra Valley Pool Service. He installed my pump without a GFCI…read morebreaker, as required for safety, and failed to install the proper suction valve -- instead forcing in a nut that damaged the threads. The filter valve leaks and the entire area under the filter is wet due to this poor installation. and he sold me an oversized 2.7 HP pump completely unnecessary for my 1.5-inch plumbing, showing poor judgment and lack of expertise. To make things worse, he left my pool without chlorine, allowing algae to start growing. On top of all that, he overcharged me thousands of dollars for pool cleaning and didn't even use the right chemicals to treat the water. Dishonest, sloppy, and costly -- avoid this company at all costs.

Both locations are always very helpful. If they don't have what I need, they can usually get it within at least a day or two, or, at most, a reasonable amount of time. On those rare occasions that I don't know what it is I need or how to solve a problem, they are always glad to help identify a part or suggest a solution. If I am too vague about what I want or I have omitted information about what I need, they always ask questions to make sure I get the right part. Both locations are very convenient for me because I do most of my work in the Chico-Oroville-Paradise area.

On an earlier visit, at the Chico location: A different story there. The guy at the counter was great, very helpful, I bought a ton of stuff there. 5 stars for the Chico location and 2 stars for the Oroville location. Oroville seemed to have a lot items and if you know exactly what you want, or you're an electrical contractor you may not notice the customer service. If you're looking for good customer service: I didn't find it at the Oroville location, so 2 stars. I've also had very good customer service from Ozzie at Lowe's electrical dept. in Chico.
