The open field has that peaceful golden-hour glow in the early evening, and the playground is clean and well maintained -- perfect for siblings to burn off energy while practice is happening. As the sun started setting around 6:30, it became clear there are no field lights, and it gets dark quickly. Also worth noting -- once dusk hits, the mosquitos definitely come out. We were swatting quite a bit by the end of practice. Another important thing to know: there are no restrooms or porta potties onsite, so plan ahead if you're bringing kids or staying for a while. Helpful tip: this is a great daytime park with a lovely playground, but aim for earlier hours and bring bug spray if you're staying into the evening. Update: They now have one porta potty near the playground which is usually very clean.

The parking lot is currently under construction, as there apparently was a recent fire from what I was advised. The Staff inside of the Community Center was very friendly and helpful. Being from Sacramento I already knew what the neighborhood was before I showed up. let me just say there are numerous homeless individuals camping and sleeping on the sidewalk in front as well as in the currently very limited parking area. Also, several folks hanging out in their cars, for several hours.... meaning I parked got out, walked around, took a hour long class, and left with them still hanging around. I will say don't let appearances fool you, or potentially scare you just proceed being aware of your surroundings. The pool was very large in size, and one of the cleanest City pools around. The workout was great!

It was a way to move our bodies, social distancing, and support the local business. It was also an excuse to get out of the house and get some fresh air. The four square park features a play area, picnic facilities & a softball field with lots of trees and grass area. One circle around the park is about half a mile. A great park for the kids, dogs and family picnic/barbecue. While I love McKinley Park and William Land Park, East Portal Park is smaller with less car traffic. Easier to meet someone and walk your dogs.

Not many people know about this "public" park, because although it is City property, there is a locked gate at the end of Seamas blocking public access to the park. The only people who have keys to this gate are the people in the lovely Little Pocket neighborhood adjoining the park. So if you are lucky enough to live in Little Pocket, you can have this beautiful 10-acre park and beach almost to yourself. Picnic, let your kids and dogs run around, and enjoy the nature area without being disturbed by us lowly commoners. If you live in the rest of the city, you are out of luck. You get to pay taxes to support the Department of Parks and Rec, but you don't get to access this park. It's only for the special people. If you think this is not quite fair, you could call Parks and Rec at 808-6060 and let them know that Little Pocket residents don't own the city, we all do. It says there is technically public access from the river, but not the levee... If this is city owned, how can it just be fenced off and open to a select few homeowners who happen to live near the public land? It took me an hour to get back home. This park back then was nicer it had more trees which it had way more shade. The pond they had always had water and they would stock it with fish. They redesigned the park and the pond now just looks like a puddle its a big pond but it has very little water. The playground they have now is way bigger than before. I would normally come her at night wit my dogs, because I stay lurking in the dark ;) they made the field bigger and added another field on the other side which before it was just dead grass with shrubs so they did it make it way bigger. They have a little community center next to it where before they would do aerobic classes and I think its also a library, I could be wrong tho. Come out here and check it out its nice but it was nicer before they have picnic tables and a gazebo and lots of room to run and play for the lil ones or if u want to get ur work out on.

This park has a HUGE field to play sports, 2 play structures both for older and younger children and is right next to the recreation center that holds parties and more. They also have a large parking lot and water fountains to quench their thirst after playing, awesome! I would highly recommend checking out this park here in Sacramento, to discover all it has to offer! My toddler as well as the twins who held their party here had a blast from going down the various slides, spinning the wheel, seeing the flowers in the Butterfly Garden and more! Another big plus, the park was well kept, which shows it's cleaned and maintained regularly, we'll be back!

It's not the largest or the fanciest, but it has everything a neighborhood park would need and more and is the preferred go-to for my son because of its play structures. We've stopped in time and again to enjoy the playground, which is filled with local kids on weekends, or eat lunch on a neighboring park bench in the shade beneath some lovely old trees. There's a huge grassy field for running around until you fall, there's a basketball court that is usually occupied by at least one lone future all-star and there is a wading pool that I have yet to see open but is in good functioning order. For those who live nearby, I dare say they are foolish not to take advantage of this resource on a regular basis. I don't live nearby and still do. Bertha, whoever you are, my hat is off to you.

Most of the children are under the age of four, little tots. I'm thankful for the restaurant that didn't have but one table under an umbrella to sit at. We took our lunch and did a search for parks by us on our google maps. And... so happy this little park was close by with plenty of shade, two picnic tables and four benches all in the shade. We arrived around 11:30am and it was mostly empty - I think due to the weather. We brought our dog along as well and she was able to be off leash and explore. This park has tennis courts, a pool, a basketball hoop, a baseball diamond and a big playground area with slides, swings and multiple giant animal figures to climb on. I had to drag my daughter home yesterday because she was having too much fun! It's big and spacious and usually packed during the warmer weather with BBQ's and birthday parties. There is street parking which can be a bit hectic depending on which time you go, they also have a small parking lot next to the swimming pool as well. It's a good neighborhood park and we always enjoy our time when we go!

North Natomas COMMUNITY Park is near Club Center Dr right off Crest Dr and Cagney Way. Address is 1839 North Bend Dr. According to the City of Sacramento's website, this park is over 39 acres big and has 2 baseball fields, a bike trail, 2 kids playgrounds with sand areas, 2 lighted tennis courts, lots of open grass fields for free play (bring your own sports equipment), a natural area, 2 gazebos/covered shaded areas with over 6 tables in each area, 4 soccer fields, 4 volleyball courts, and 1 set of bathrooms. In short, this park has everything you need and more. Our kids had great fun celebrating their friend's birthday with other friends and they even had relay games, a pinata, and of course they played soccer since these boys love soccer. North Natomas Community Park is a nice neighborhood park that's bigger than the typical kids playground parks, as it's got a lot more here, but it's still not too big where it'd be hard to find your party without a pin drop on a map. All in all, this is a good park that's big, but not crazy huge and it's easier to find and more cozy for a smaller gathering of 15-30 people vs the regional park is probably more for community events for all of Natomas, but we've also been there and that one is very nice too. One star taken off as the bathroom was not in good shape and the wife says it wouldn't flush and only 1 of the 2 gender free bathrooms was even opened.
