In short, read the other reviews. They are crooks and will (in my opinion and the opinion of two dentists I asked) over treat and over charge you. I would stay away or at the very least I would take their treatment plan to another dentist for a second opinion before consenting to any treatment. My longer review: Dr. Ellingson and his staff are very friendly people, and their office is clean and lovely. I'm even sure that the work that they do is high quality. However, I would urge you to read the reviews before you go here. I showed up with a tooth that needed a root canal. On my initial exam I was told that I needed somewhere around 12 other fillings. That set off some alarm bells as I'd been having (at minimum) yearly checkups by reputable dentists in San Francisco and Chicago over my entire adult life. I have never had any dentist tell me I needed this much work done. But I went and got the root canal and then was convinced/tricked to get a few fillings done "while they were in that quadrant". Long story short, I took their treatment plan to two different dentists. Neither agreed with their plan, both thought it was over-treating. One was apoplectic, asked for the name of the practice so that she could call them herself. Her words were that they were "bandits" and that "god will judge them for stealing from people who need help". Anyways, I would recommend all clients go get a second opinion prior to authorizing any work. I won't mention that they (I assume they are well versed in insurance) told me that my max benefit was 1500 when it was 1000 and then proceeded to milk every cent from that that they could and then foist the rest onto me. I'm no expert (or fan) of my insurance so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Did not enjoy my visit with Mr. Will Ellingson. First off I told them I didn't want to do business with them if I had to pay anything out of pocket. They assured me I didn't have to. When I got there the staff was very pushy and wanted to get me in right away. I sat down and 5 minutes later the doctor came in telling me he couldn't help me because my teeth were too bad. That I needed tons of work done and referred me to his friend. He also told me I wouldn't have any of my teeth within a year. Well, I have all my teeth, went to another dentist and had a great time. The problem I had was customer service, honestly, taking time to actually evaluate what was going on, and being over charged. I didn't get anything out of this service and my insurance was charged and I was charged. Very very disappointed to say the least. read more

If i could give this place zero stars, I would. I have been going here for 28 years and they usually have been pretty great to work with, but my family fell on some hard times due to some unforeseen medical bills that arose with the birth of our son and my wife needed a root canal shortly after paying out way too much money in medical bills. They first sent me a quote that was outdated (from 2020) and then when I questioned them on it, they told me "Well, metlife is just a pain to call and their website is down. So we went off of the 2020 quote". After insisting they call my insurance they sent me a second quote and then admitted that they never got a hold of my insurance company and they were going off of what they thought. I then asked about payment options because we were short on money and needed some time. They told us that all they could do was charge us half at the time of service and half a month later. They wouldn't even let us wait to see what my insurance would cover (not to mention the fact that they didn't even send the whole bill to my insurance. They only sent what they determined they wanted to send or in their words "what we know the insurance will pay. If we don't think they will pay it we don't send it") All in all, after 28 years we have decided to find a new dentist because the front staff is absolutely atrocious. I will miss Gina, but Gina isn't worth the front staff and how absolutely awful and uncaring they are. read more

My opinion is that this dental practice is focused on $$ PROFIT $$ and not focused on patient outcomes. Stay away from Dr. Ellingson and Granite View Dental! I would give zero stars. I have been to Dr. Ellingson's dental practice (Granite View Dental) many times. In all of my encounters, Dr. Ellingson has only been in the room for less than 3 minutes, TOTAL. His practice recommended expensive (and in my opinion unnecessary) deep cleaning for which I, and my insurance, paid amounting to THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. There seemed to be no end in sight and I came back multiple times and was charged more and more. As a final example of this apparent greed, his office informed me that I had a substantial credit balance on my account that would be used for my future deep cleaning visits. I requested a detailed ledger of my account and saw that I was carrying this balance for several months. I decided to terminate my deep cleaning and asked for a refund of the credit balance. After many calls to their office, I was provided with a complex answer which amounts to they are reallocating that money and increasing previous charges so they won't be repaying me. I have to say that I am not surprised by their answer simply because I have felt their greed at every appointment. Even for covered annual cleanings, they provided additional (and in my opinion, unnecessary) services, without my permission, and which were not covered by insurance. So I had to make additional payments out of pocket for annual cleanings which should have been 100% covered by insurance. Stay away from Dr. Ellingson and Granite View Dental! They will drain your finances and when you figure it out they will find a way to take even more of your money before you drop them. read more

***CROOKS***STAY AWAY*** We are a family of 4. We all had cleanings, xrays, and my kids had a few cavities to fill. No big deal right? I keep receiving bills 7 months later which I thought was unusual so I called my insurance. They informed me my out-of-pocket to date for all claims submitted is $197.60. This office has charged me $574 so far and apparently they're not done billing me because I just received another $70 bill. And there's a date of service from November 2022 that my insurance has not yet received. Some other discrepancies I've uncovered so far: I was told x-rays for my son were not covered so I was billed out of pocket for that which I paid. My insurance just told me the x-rays taken were covered by my insurance 100%. I am being billed for anesthesia they claim to have given my son during a filling. My son confirmed he never received anesthesia. He's a minor so I would assume I would have to authorize that which I did NOT. My kids were both diagnosed with several cavities. I thought that was unusual because neither of them have ever had that many all at once. I just read another review that confirmed he was told he had more cavities than he actually had. I feel confused by the negative reviews. I have been going to Dr Ellingson for probably 10+ years. He has always done great work on myself and my kids. We have never been told we had any cavities we don't have, in fact we usually don't have any. Insurance billing has always gone smoothly and I've not been billed for extra costs. If I have questions about a bill they are happy to talk it through with me. Staff is friendly and care has been good. I think this is a great dental office. I would recommend them. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I have been so disappointed in the front office staff, I had to speak up. I was in tremendous pain and needed a root canal, but had to wait over a week for the soonest appointment to get some relief. I then had to pay $150 just to reserve the appointment time. On top of it all, they charge an extra fee for using a credit card instead of a check. While my actual appointment went well and I didn't have any problems, the real issue came with billing. They sent multiple outdated estimates and were inconsistent with what they decided to bill my insurance. When I compared their bill to my explanation of benefits and previous statements, they were trying to charge me over $200 more than what I actually needed to pay. I have lost all trust with their billing/accounting admins and the way they treated me and my family when asking about the discrepancies was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. While the dental staff are great, the front office and billing issues are leaving me in need of a new dentist. read more

I found them on Google and called to ask about their teeth whitening and what they use. I found out they use Boost instead of zoom and boost is a better product. They had the best price around! Not only that is I felt so comfortable from the second I walked in the door to the second I walked out. Madison did the procedure so good. She made sure I was comfortable at all times. I have actually never left a review of any company. And I hesitate to do so now. But our experience may help the next who walk in the doors. The receptionist messed up our bill and billed us in a way that cost me more and paid them more. Then while we were trying to negotiate it with our insurance she continually called us for payment in a rude way. My husband had 7 cavities fixed. He was told he had 12 (I know, shame!). We have since started going to another dentist who had to REDO 5 of those cavities because they had not been cleanly done and were causing discomfort and tooth decay underneath. The new dentist also told my husband the rest of the "cavities" were not actually a problem and did not need any work done on them at this time. That was 1 1/2 years after having work done at Granite. My daughter had a root canal done at Granite 1 1/2 years ago and has had a tooth ache ever sense with that tooth. We went back to Granite twice to check on it and "everything looks fine" however she still has tooth sensitivity and discomfort. Our new dentist said he would have to REDO the root canal and cap to cleanly get all the root....we are waiting on that one till she feels like it is necessary (more $$). They did fix 1 cavity in my son and it is doing well. And I had 1 cavity fixed and am doing well. However I did have to go back once and get it smoothed down some more. Overall, the hygienist are super nice and the doctor is really nice. The receptionist are blurry with the payment options and rude on the phone or if there is a question about something. One was nicer than the other. I believe it is the office manager/ bill person who is unkind quickly about things. I also heard her talking rudely about customers as I sat in the waiting area several times. That is unprofessional. The office is old, dirty, and run down looking. Overall, I would say stay clear. We have now had to pay for work done on our teeth twice because they did a poor job the first time. Hopefully they can do better in the future. read more

The people are what makes this office so great. Gina is the dental hygienist and is amazing. My brother and I have come to her for about 10 years now and it's always a great experience. She remembers us by name and always seems to remember our conversation from previous visits. Feels like visiting family when I come in for checkups...except this place is literally all up in my grill ;) Dr. Ellingson is always super friendly. I'm always comfortable asking him questions about my teeth and he never makes me feel dumb...always a plus! If you're looking for a great dentist and people you can trust with your teeth, this is the place. I won't be leaving anytime soon. read more

MONSTER! A horrible dentist. I had a root-canal and an extraction. I was not prescribed any antibiotics or anything for pain. Within a few days I went to another dentist and had an infection, My new dentist said that the extraction was brutal. I was quoted prices for unnecessary procedures. I figure that is because my church was going to help me pay. My insurance covers everything I needed to have done. I asked for Nitrous and as I was screaming in pain I realized they were not actually giving me any. read more

Will Ellingson is a great dentist. I have had the misfourtune of needing almost every dental proceedure in the book. I have had many dentists and Will has been the best. His hygenists are top notch and very friendly. The receptionists are also extremely helpful and curteous. This is a very good practice which I highly recommend if you are shopping around. read more

I have needed to see a dentist since we moved out of WI. I used to go every six months whether I needed it or not. We moved to FL and I quickly recognized not every place has as good medical and dental facilities as in WI. I found a good place here! Gina had her work cut out for her but she took the extra time and care to clean my teeth as if they hadn't been neglected all those years. Doc Ellingson thoroughly checked me for every health problem in and around my mouth. They didn't try to scare me into buying $8k worth of work (something I experienced in FL). They told me my dental health is good. I am so happy I found a great place to get my care at a very VERY reasonable price. Just call them and see how much it is. Don't be scurrd. read more

THE WORST DENTIST EVER!! My husband had a front tooth that fell out. The dentist fixed it and charged us, the tooth fell out again. The dentist didn't seem to know what he was doing but fixed it again, the tooth fell out, then it fell out again, and again and again and again. Each time he went, he was charged (8 times total). After the 8th time we decided to go somewhere else. The last visit was billed and we disputed it. The person on the phone did not have a clue about insurance or coverage. I knew exactly what the coverage was but she said different. We ended up getting an almost $1,000 credit on services because they never billed our insurance correctly. Then they put the credit toward the balance owed and billed us for close to 600 dollars more. Then sued us for the money. THEY ARE THE WORST OFFICE AND BILLING I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. THE DENTIST DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. DON'T GO!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION. SO SO UNFAIR. My husband loves his new dentist. I was a long time patient of the former dentist that Dr Ellingson purchased the practice from. My experience with his takeover was horrific! I had a toothache, and was told I needed a root canal. I thought I'd keep going there, the staff knew me, and they had all my records. The root canal itself took 3 LONG hours, as Dr E kept leaving me to see other patients. (Strike 1) Went back after a couple of weeks for my permanent crown, and the girl who placed it (after she needed much coaching from another assistant) admitted that she was an intern - a high school student in a dental training program (why did the doctor not place my crown - hes using interns for cheap labor to rake in more $$). (Strike 2) The desk girl in charge of billing didn't enter my payment information at the time of procedure correctly, so I later had to prove to them proof that I had paid my $600 co-pay for services. (Strike 3). Then, to add insult to injury - a few weeks later, the tooth was still painful, and heat sensitive. I ended up having to go to an endodontist who re-did the root canal (in an hour, mind you), because Dr E had COMPLETELY MISSED one of the roots, and it was infected!(YOU'RE OUT!!! You SUCK) I called to complain, and the staff didn't seem to care - no word from the Dr. What an awful experience!!!! only gave one star because zero stars isn't an option.
