Two experiences here, one as expected, the other terrible, horrible even. And it cost me over $1000.00 because I'd traveled from Las Vegas to Murray, Utah to have the work performed. My first experience was good, mostly because of a dental assistant named "Francis" who was kind, understood my phobia for needles and dentists. She even sang while prepping me for the root canal, kept one hand on my shoulder for reassurance. Dr. Facer himself was good. It's a shame his staff and office aren't reflective of Francis and Dr. Facer. There are other, more consistent dental experiences to be had in SLC than this one. I had a really good experience at this office. Everyone was very nice and professional, and I really had no issues at all. The front desk was also very helpful with my insurance. I've had problems with insurance at other places in the past, but they were quick to check everything and let me know if I had coverage, which I really appreciated. I also want to mention Dr. Facer. I know he is a busy guy, but he still took the time to see me, and I really appreciated that. He didn't have to make the time, but he did, and that meant a lot. read more

However, the reason for my dedication in rating is due to the missed information I was told by their staff. I asked to make sure they were in my network and they said yes my insurance would cover %%. I don't often write reviews, and even less often 5 star reviews, but I've interacted w/ the front desk/phone staff many times and have received treatment on at least two occasions at Greater Endodontics (root canal and tooth extraction), and have had nothing but positive experiences. Dr Madsen does an excellent job of explaining X-rays, diagnoses, and treatments, and displays genuine caring and concern throughout procedures, and has even gone out of his way to call and check on me after one of my procedures. The facility is modern, high tech, extremely clean, and as warm as a medical/dental environment can be. The staff is extremely accommodating and genuinely polite and helpful. From the front desk to the financial person to the assistants at chair side, I have never had less than compassionate, professional interaction. Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised that they are able to find, employ, and train an entire staff to be so consistently professional and kind. Whoever is doing the hiring and training deserves acknowledgement and perhaps a raise :). I keep expecting to have someone on the phone be short w/ me or impatient after multiple questions, but it has never happened. I've never had any root canals that were pain free! These guys are the very best! They have a new technology called the Gentle Wave that helps clean out the tooth better. It's awesome! After going to my family dentist, he recommended going to an Endodontists who specializes in root canals and has the appropriate equipment. So I checked out who was on my insurance. They were very professional and had the right equipment to diagnose which tooth and root was giving me problems. After talking it over with the Dr Madsen we proceeded with the root canal.
