procedure itself was good, root canal was done well no complications but be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for it, they will charge you $900 for initial CT which won't even be submitted to insurance and most of the expenses afterwards will be paid out of packet so if you want to see Dr. Sonnenberg be prepared to pay couple of thousand out of your pocket even with dental insurance. read more

Dr. Sonnenberg and his team were great! I was able to get in just a few days after getting referred by my dentist. Mari, his assistant, was and absolute gem and so welcoming and kind. Dr. Sonnenberg took time to look at my tooth, confirm the diagnosis and get great images. He reviewed the plan with me and was extremely through and patient. You can tell he has done about a million root canals because I was comfortable the entire time. I was so nervous going in but the whole experience put me at ease. I went to Dr. Sonnenberg's practice through my doctors recommendation here in Park City. He helped me with a root canal, and I cannot thank him enough for the great work that he did. My one star review unfortunately is a product of the lies I was told by his front office. When I initially called to request an appointment and provided my insurance, at no time did they mention it was out of network, nor did they give me any indication of the cost of the root canal procedure. I was led to the office, went through the procedure, and at the time that I checked out, I was suddenly notified that I owed almost $1000 for the root canal procedure. when I questioned the amount and mentioned that I was at no point told that this was out of network, nor was I informed of an estimate, I was almost laughed at the office. The office manager went so far as to say because of my rudeness, no consideration was to be made and that I was to pay "immediately". The front office of this doctor is manipulative and deceitful so please double/ triple check before engaging. read more

Not only did the procedure not help at all, but I was hit with a statement asking me to pay 3 times the announced "estimate". Turns out his office didn't call my insurance when they said they did, and I'm the one having to pay for their negligence. Dr. Sonnenberg is fantastic! I can not recommend him enough. I was referred to him by my normal dentist after it was apparent I was going to need a few root canals. I was in an accident that damaged my 4 front teeth and over time the trauma to the teeth cause root problems that needed to be taken care of. The thought of getting 4 root canals was very terrifying however Mr. Sonnenberg and his staff was so accommodating and helpful during the process it made it a breeze! I was surprised by how quick, effective, and relatively painless the procedures were. If you need a root canal, I am sorry, but you NEED to go to this guy. He is the best around. read more

Dr. Sonnenberg is all business. When he gets to work there is no la-de-da, no conversation, he works hard and quickly and knows exactly what he is doing. He told me to stop wiggling my feet because it was disturbing my jaw (and his drilling.) He told me he was going to give me anti-biotics to quell the infection and I mentioned that I drinks a lot, he paused and said, "Moderatiion, all things in monderation." I got the message. Gosh, he was quick. I've heard, for decades, that root canal is the height of pain, in movies and the vernacular, but the only thing that hurt was the injection of pain killer. The root canal was over before I knew it had begun. After the root canal he put a temporary cap on top of his work because my regular dentist was going to finish the crown, so his cost to me was $800. Very reasonable. Dr. Sonnenberg studied at Loyola in Chicago, is there anywhere better than that? I seriously doubt that you could do better that Dr. Sonnenberg. read more

I had the privilege of working with Dr Sonnenberg for many, many years. He is amazing and the best endodontist I've ever seen. He has done 7 root canals on my husband (most were redos from root canals done elsewhere by other dentists) and all are still perfect. We no longer live in SLC but if my hubby needed another root canal or I needed my first, we wouldn't hesitate flying there to have Dr. Sonnenberg do it. He's THAT GOOD!! Don't let your general dentist do your root canal!! You have a far better option and You'll never regret your decision. Never!! They don't come any better than Dr. Sonnenberg. Do you go to your family doctor to treat cancer? of course not, you go to an oncologist. Are you still going to your dentist for a root canal? It is time to see a specialist. I had no idea a root canal could be done with such care and expertise. I've had root canals from regular dentists, and from a specialist, and the difference is night and day. After having 2 root canals done with Dr. Sonnenberg, I would prefer a root canal by him rather than a filling done by a normal dentist. He is extremely consultative and is genuinely concerned for you and your teeth. He is very nice, and very thorough throughout the entire process. I highly recommend him over any other Salt Lake City dentist. It took me three bad root canals before I realized I was not getting the best work done on my teeth. Don't make the same mistake I did. After several unsuccessful root canal procedures in the same tooth, I later went to Dr Sonnenberg because my pain had not been resolved after over a year.
