I wanted to be sure that after just a few short years, our lawn would not look like some in the neighborhood, deflated, crunchy, cheap, like off the roll at your local hardware store. We felt totally comfortable after speaking to Michelle that the job was going to be handled competently and the lawn was going to look great. Michelle got us on the schedule right away and in one short work day, it was installed and done. The job was clean and done with care, no extra clean up for me or anything! I has a bit hesitant about contacting her a second time because the revised job was much smaller than the first; she treated this request as she did the first one, timely and made no remarks about the smallness of the job (some company people do that because they only want the big jobs!). Usually regulars will tie extra poop bags to the fence and bring bottles of water. Because this park is a sump, garbage can sometimes wind up at the bottom of the park, but it's maintained weekly and is usually pretty clean for a dog park. The one thing this place NEEDS desperately is more signage about the rules. Last Sunday, July 11, 2021 we arrived around 8am and found a group of about 20 boys and 4 coaches having football practice. Usually I wouldn't mind this type of thing and welcome the socialization for the dogs, but the kids were not properly talked to about respecting the dog park. One of the boys opened the fence gate and let both of my dogs out, who of course then bolted out into the busy street. I feel that this could have been avoided if there were proper signs about closing the fence and being mindful of the dogs. Especially because this dog park is just the small fenced in area of a larger park, I feel like they could play anywhere and dogs really just have this one spot.

It wouldn't be my first choice to have a picnic and relax with family. It is well kept up and plenty of seating for a party. It has a couple bbq's, and a half basketball court. The jungle gym is small and there are no swings. It does have some nice shade trees and lots of grass to play catch or just lay out a blanket to relax and watch your kids play.

There's no public restroom (or at least I didn't spot one on my last visit a few months back). It's super tiny and quaint and beautifully landscaped. It's a perfect addition to the area. There's a half court for shooting hoops. Don't count on playing a full game here. Just practice your free throws! There are about half a dozen picnic benches and a nice kids play area with new equipment that includes a small rock wall for the kids. This is a great addition to this residential area in downtown Tehachapi!

Yes, you still have to deal with the stereotypical annoying gym people. The guy with the hoodie on who looks like batman slamming weights, the girls doing "leg" exercises snapchatting the entire time, and even the guy doing speed rope in the dumbbell area. Oh that's right, don't forget the guy with headphones on rapping louder than he should. Besides that, staff is hit or miss. Some have an inflated sense of self while others are very helpful. But the shining stars are the rock wall staff! They'll help you strap up, coach you, and help you conquer your fears! You go rock wall staff! Best gym in Bakersfield!

It was great to see it a buzz with a large family gathering bumping good tunes, individuals escaping the heat in a similar fashion to myself, and folks taking pictures. Yes, there are 2! One side is for smaller kids and the other bigger ones 5-up. If you have people that want to play basketball there's a court for that too. When Silver-creek would be full we would come over here and have a nice quiet game. This park's dog park used to be in the front where the water pump things are. I was said when I saw the city putting them in and digging up the dog run. However, I was happy again after noticing that they moved it back some and kept this place a nice dog park.
