Examples: a chandelier over the tub was mounted to a plastic box sitting directly on ceiling drywall with the cable unsecured along the attic floor; several items required rework, including a custom vanity with an off-center sink cabinet, unlevel countertops, and visibly slanted shelves; the plumbing work had multiple problems and the plumber and his sister were fired. Ther are many, many other things I could mention. The project took over eight months instead of the four promised, with work gaps of days and sometimes weeks. I met with the PM three times to create a timeline, but they fell behind every time. The only reason he gave was schedule conflicts with other jobs. One positive: Guillermo and Jose were responsive and fully guaranteed their work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end product before ending the project.

In summary, Cory outsourced the entire project to CMS Construction - Sixto Mondragon - who did an absolutely TERRIBLE job - and did not even finish the project. The concrete they poured was unevenly finished and inconsistent. Their framers are also their trim carpenters - among other duties - none of which they seem to be very skilled at. They did not install proper concrete footers for the patio extension - didn't add any base before pouring concrete on the new driveway - installed tongue and groove without staggered spacing (meaning all boards started and stopped at the same place) - installed an awning with nearly no slope and put shingles on its roof and that is just a part of the mistakes. During the project, the subcontractor was telling us he didn't have money to continue with the project while Cory was saying that we had to work it out with the subcontractor. It was a complete mess. Cory only came to the jobsite twice - during two months. Cory sent a text terminating the contract. We had to tear out all of the concrete they poured (which was three full truckloads) - remove most of the cedar tongue and groove they had improperly installed - tear out all of the stone fireplace they improperly installed - replace about 25% of the brick they had laid - and add footers to the concrete patio extension to prevent the slab from cracking. Please - don't do business with this company. It's the luck of the draw - since they sub out all / most of their work - whether you get a good sub that will do a good job or not. And you definitely cannot count on Cory to be there to manage or warranty their work. Just look at the attached pics of the "quality" of work that was performed by Ultimate Choice. From the very beginning they rush you, make you sign something to only work with them (sketchy, red flag) and then they do mediocre work. They're going to take advantage of you and your home when you're in an emergency type situation. As immoral as they come. They messed up my bathroom tile, then made me feel bad when I asked them to do it right. As if I was asking too much when they didn't do it right in the first place? They also installed a random circular silver drain in the shower, when I asked for and ordered a square gold drain. Hello? The owner, Michael, simply chalked it up to "hiring workers that don't speak English." If that doesn't tell you all you need to know... The attention to detail and doing a decent, not even good, job is just not there. They didn't finish caulking behind the toilet or on top of the counter. They scratched the paint off of 3 doors, and refused to compensate or correct. They got dirt all over the walls and even got paint on my front door and hallway tile. They littered cigarette butts and a giant sponge (???) in my front yard. They left an entire garbage can of trash in my front yard. They even messed up my garage door, when that is an area of the house they were NOT authorized to do ANY work in. Who knows where else they were messing around while I wasn't home? When I asked them to remove the master toilet, I specifically and repeatedly asked them to cover the hole in the ground. When I arrived home two days later, I walked in to find the sewage hole completely gaping open, releasing toxic sewage fumes into my home and bedroom. Unbelievably thoughtless, careless, and downright hazardous/dangerous. They started trying to charge us hundreds of dollars at the end for things we already discussed, and then when we tried to talk to the owner, he basically said he'd just hand us over to his lawyer. He knows he is taking advantage of us, so he didn't want to discuss the money details with us. You can see in the attached videos/photos that they also threaten to take legal action against us, should we post an honest review. They don't have any basis to do so, but just want to scare customers into silence. That's why they don't have any other bad reviews on here. It's too late for me, but please, save yourself. Find another company.

We just wrapped up (last week) having our kitchen completely redone as well as our laminate &…read morecarpet flooring replaced (the bathrooms already have tile). The project took 4 1/2 weeks from the day they started the kitchen demo. Note in the before photos that we had fur downs & square recessed lights both of which they removed giving us taller upper cabinets & adjustable brightness LED canned lights. We also had them replaced the square lights in our living room & swap the floodlights in our family room's canned lights for the same adjustable LEDs. The general contractor did a really great job of managing the project & has several great subs that he has worked with long term (cabinets, countertops, & tile/backsplash) for work that his own staff doesn't focus on (1/2 of whom are his family). Very high quality work with an attention to detail including bringing any issues to our attention so that they can be addressed (e.g., leaking faucet in the laundry room). Very reasonable pricing & they were agreeable to us adding on extra things like replacing the switches & outlets outside of the kitchen area with the same square modern ones that were put in our "new" kitchen. We are also having them paint the paneling in our family room as a separate project that they will do this week. We will absolutely call them first for any future projects.
