First, the owner was able to create a key for a shed lock that I never had the key to. The lock was from a home depot shed, but home depot was unable to sell me a new lock without buying an entire new shed around it. After wasting much time with Home Depot, Codman Lock expertly took care of the problem, and I now have a locking shed. I also bought a new knob/lock for my basement door. The owner was very knowledgeable about everything in the store, and encouraged me to buy the cheapest lock he had based on the needs I described to him. Being downsold gets you points in my book for honesty and integrity. I have another lock that I don't have the key to and I am planning to take it to Codman Lock as well.

I pick up item and brought to Ace who I had some locks rekeyed while I waited. Well Ace calls me next day and tells me he was able to make a key from existing lock and all set in less than 24 hours...vs item sitting at other lock place for at least 6 months or more until I asked about and told me to pick it up.... Well staffed at Ace and stocked, know their stuff... I'll be doing all my business there in future.... Quick, reasonable and great staff.

I had Ace come to my home a couple of months ago to re-key two doorknobs. After they left, one of…read morethe doorknobs would catch occasionally and not open even though it wasn't locked. I lived with it for a while as it would open after jiggling it a little. Recently, it got worse, so I called Ace to come and look at it. When the tech got here, he said they "don't fix that" but he could replace it the doorknob. He was here for maybe a half hour total and installed a new $40 doorknob. I was charged $307 dollars. Apparently, I was charged $90 just for the guy to drive here and $175/hr (one our minimum). I found this to be absolutely outrageous, especially given the fact that I didn't have a problem until Ace re-keyed my locks. I will never use them again and I strongly suggest that you don't either. It's no wonder people can't afford to live when business screw people like this. Disgusting.

We just bought a house where the locks were really wonky and we had to carry around 4 different keys and try them on each lock because they weren't all the same. Some of the locks even had key locks on the interior of the doors--def not safe in case of emergency. Guess what? One key now, no wonky looks and in no time at all. Bill and his staff are very professional, and were able to fix the problem immediately. I hope there will not be a problem for a long time, but I would use them again, if needed, and highly recommend them because they know what they are doing and are reasonably priced.
