The 188 mile road goes all the way across Vermont and we were riding it north to south. We mainly went because we collect poker chips. They sell theirs for $5 each which is a bit on the high side. The design is unique in that it seems to be made up of real phots instead of artwork. They have covered parking and a big one way lot that requires you to loop around the back. You enter through the sales floor and they have a small number of bikes. Seems like most are kept outside, at least the used ones. Motor clothes takes up two areas. They only have 3 restrooms so not a great spot for a large group to stop. The entire 20 minutes we were there someone was in the mens room the entire time and after asking for a second restroom someone showed me one in the back of the store. Staff was very friendly and polite.

Come to find out, the engine was dangerously low on oil. I offered to pay and he wouldn't accept. Good samaritans, extremely helpful to a guy in need. Should I need anything motorcycle-related in the future, they'll get my business first. Thanks.

Back in the spring, it was already a struggle just to get someone to return a call. I gave them the benefit of the doubt--this is a busy time of year for motorcycle shops--but that should've been my first warning sign. When I finally brought my bike in for a routine inspection, oil change, and tune-up, the service went from mildly frustrating to completely unacceptable. Communication was practically nonexistent. Getting a simple status update felt like pulling teeth--calls went unanswered, and when I did get through, I was given vague or noncommittal answers. The worst part? The cost. I was given a quote, reviewed it, and approved the work based on that number. Two weeks later--after zero proactive updates--I went to pick up my bike and was handed a bill that was double the quoted price. Not slightly higher. Not due to a quick phone call to explain additional issues. Double. And at no point did anyone contact me to explain, get approval, or even give a heads-up that costs were increasing. That's not just poor customer service--that's a complete breakdown of basic business practices and trust. It's incredibly frustrating to see a shop that used to be reliable drop the ball so hard on communication, transparency, and accountability. Between the lack of responsiveness and the surprise charges, this experience has been enough to make me seriously reconsider ever coming back.

Mason Racing was a nice little shop. It's small, but has all of the basics and then some that you would need for biking. The staff was friendly and attentive. There were two guys working in the shop and they talked to us about where we were visiting from, B's bike, and the local trails he should check out if he got a chance to ride in the area. They both seemed extremely knowledgeable and interested, and they were very friendly. There was also an absolutely beautiful view from the shop. I'm not really a biker, but I definitely enjoyed stopping at this shop just for the view. If you're in the area and need something for your bike, you can likely find it at Mason Racing. If not, I'm sure the staff could point you in the right direction.
