I cannot say enough good things about VIP Tires in Barre, VT. I drive all the way from Thetford…read morebecause this location is, hands down, the absolute best around--and completely worth the trip. Nick is a superb manager who clearly treats his staff with respect and care, and that culture shows in every interaction with customers. You can feel the thoughtfulness, professionalism, and integrity the moment you walk in. Addie was incredibly attentive and supportive when I had questions and asked about additional work on my car. Her attention to detail and clear communication made me feel genuinely cared for, not rushed or upsold. Aiden did an amazing job--fast, efficient, and thorough--and went the extra mile by offering helpful advice on maintaining my windshield wiper blades. That kind of guidance may seem small, but it speaks volumes about the pride and care he brings to his work. I've already told family and friends, and I truly wouldn't trust my car with anyone else. I brought my car in for winter tires and specifically requested studded winter tires when I booked…read morethe appointment. I'm new to the area and openly told them I'm unfamiliar with winter tires and was relying on their expertise to guide me. I later learned that not all winter tires come with studs pre-installed -- they must be added separately, even if the tire is designed for studs. That would've been fine, had this been clearly explained. Instead, no one asked me to confirm whether I wanted studs installed, even though I had requested "winter tires with studs" in my original phone conversation. The tires they ordered were indeed studdable tires, which means I would never have declined studs on a tire specifically made for studs -- especially after asking for them. When I picked up my car, I noticed the studs weren't installed. I called to clarify and was met with rude and dismissive responses. I was told that I had declined studs, which is simply untrue and was never discussed at any point during the appointment. They refused to acknowledge any miscommunication on their end. I drove back so they could add the studs. While there, I was spoken to disrespectfully, my old tires were called "crap," and when I returned to pick up my car, I was told that although they normally don't charge for studs, they were charging me the full amount because installing them was an "inconvenience" to them. Update: I reached out to Monro about the issue and received no additional help. Overall, a really disappointing experience. The one-star reviews are legit--save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else for tire service.

May 1, 2025 (The Red…read moreBalloon) This is NOT some one-off review... it merely follows and confirms the review I gave this business in October... Cliff, Dominic, Jacob... and the gentleman hidden beneath my vehicle handling the oil drop... In a word: Superlative... In late October... I had mentioned to Jacob about distributing helium balloons to the kids while they waited patiently for the vehicle service in mom/dad's car... it was just a suggestion... I did not think he would take me literally... But he went further... I was the destination of the idea he ran with... After a 5-minute wait, I received an oil change today in addition to a safety check... tire pressure check... vehicle lights... and car wash... (the high center brake light assembly was also changed!) With humor... aplomb, dignity... and professional assessments of my truck... And... Jacob handed me a coveted red helium balloon... Perhaps it is just symbolism... but this gesture is far-reaching... this cements my go-to place for service... Not just a simple symbol... but an assurance of consistency in service standards... I am carrying the spouse in my truck... others are carrying kids... Truly... they are most important cargo of all... Thank you for such great service! Tom Baker

If I had known the truck would fail inspection, then why would I spend over $300 on the old change and air filters? The order in which the two services occurred is DELIBERATELY DESIGNED so that the company can MAKE MONEY before failing your inspection. THIS IS SURELY NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE. BUYERS BEWARE. AT THE VERY LEAST, BE SURE TO INSIST THAT THEY PERFORM THE INSPECTION FIRST. DON'T BE HOODWINKED.

He guided me in my effort to get a tire adjustment on our previous tires because they had weather checking and normally that company will offer some assistance. For a couple of reasons the company wouldn't help. Bruce made an effort via a different path but came up with the same results. We did discuss what tires would work for us and he immediately located 6 of them for us. We scheduled about 3 weeks out. The weather on that day was calling for snow and our trip was 50 miles. I asked if the weather was bad enough, could we cancel and reschedule. They were very agreeable to that. We made it and after an hour and 45 minutes we were on our way. Because they do some business very close to us they agreed to come by our house and retorque the lugs. Tough finding anyone who would do that.
