Just got here and off to a good start.

Great diner grub, eggs over was perfect. Lots of scoops of wonderful salted butter, good hash browns, pancakes (didn't try the syrup), oj tasty. Service was excellent! There were 3 people taking care of the customers and they all did great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The folding chairs were quite comfortable, advertising on the tables added charm (especially loved Hauling AZ).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside speaks nothing on what's going on inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you are in the neighborhood for breakfast, make sure that you stop in, you won't regret it.

This is the real deal for breakfast. Drove 10 minutes off the freeway to try this place. Country fried steak was huge. Hash browns are plentiful and perfectly cooked as were the eggs. Glad I stopped.

I really wanted to find a good breakfast restaurant in Kingman. Sadly, this was not the place. The sign out front says they're celebrating 30 years of business. You would think after that long they would've perfected a simple breakfast. While the coffee was OK, that's where it ended. I ordered corned beef hash, two eggs scrambled, country potatoes, and sourdough toast. The corned beef hash came out cold and uncooked, the country potatoes were chunks of undercooked potato with raw onions and bell peppers, and the sourdough toast was warmed bread soaked in butter. The eggs were scrambled, kind of. Even when they picked up my breakfast plate with only the eggs gone, they never asked if everything was OK, just did I want me to go box. No thank you. This is a cute restaurant, and I really wanted it to be successful in being my new go to breakfast place. Oh well, I'm still on the search for a good old fashioned coffee shop with a nice breakfast and good cup of coffee. This sure wasn't it!

I've thought about the hash brown casserole for years and looked forward to satisfying my hunger for the potato casserole. I was extremely disappointed when I saw the "casserole" come to the table. Shredded potatoes?? What the heck? The waitress confirmed the recipe had changed. They were dry and unappealing. The waitress saw the displeasure on my face and asked several times if I wanted to replace them. I declined. I was really looking forward to the potato casserole. The restaurant ambience was as remembered and the staff were all very nice and friendly. My son enjoyed his food as he had the 4 piece fried chicken dinner with three sides. Note the sides are much smaller as I remembered them to be. Mac n cheese was good but not the same. I guess costs and overhead are cutting into food quality. Sadly I won't be returning to any Cracker Barrel in any state, unless the original casserole recipe is brought back. But I'm one person and don't think the casserole will return.

After waiting for a while, the server returned but didn't ask whether we had a seating preference. When I asked, "Aren't you going to ask where we'd like to sit?" the response was, "I do the seating. You'll be sitting here." The interaction came across as dismissive rather than welcoming. The service continued in the same manner. The soup bowls were carried by the rim and placed on the table rather carelessly, leaving the table messy (see attached photos). Small details like these affect the overall dining experience. On the positive side, we ordered the strip steak, and it was excellent, cooked well and full of flavor. The kitchen earned this restaurant its third star. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. I hope management addresses the staff's customer service and hospitality, because the food deserves better.
