I needed all-day assistance for my five young children during my husband's company retreat to Lost Pines. Liz listened to my needs, which included both mother's helper tasks at the water park and traditional in-room babysitting for my toddlers during a formal dinner. We were matched with two perfect "grandparents" within twenty four hours of my call. Brenda and Beth arrived on time and brought toys and activities with them. The ladies were very experienced and capable, and my whole family was able to have an enjoyable trip. Brenda kept up with my 3, 7, and 9 year-olds at the pool. Beth did playdoh experiments with my 2-year-old, and then came fishing at the lake with us, and kept him from wandering into the lake. What an incredible service for events! We used Grandparents Unlimited for a wedding. Liz was easy to communicate with via email and text. Paula and Halina arrived to the bridal suite at 4:30 (with books, toys, and expert care) and stayed through 11:00. The five kiddos (aged 2-4) settled in well, and it was so nice as a parent to have my daughter on-site but tucked away. Especially because we came from out-of-town, so finding a trusted sitter is tough! Ended up being less than $100 per child which is more than reasonable (and less than other quotes we got). Within an hour of my email, Kathleen called me back and spent time taking details of what type of sitter we needed. My son is autistic and we needed someone to watch him and his cousin while we attended a wedding. We had not left either of them with a sitter in over 2 years and we were so nervous. Kathleen paired us with Sheryl, a special education teacher, who was an absolute perfect fit for our children. She talked to me before she met the kids to have a good understanding of their needs/challenges, she showed up early with activities for them to do and instantly my son took to her. Both kids talked the next day about how much they liked her which is is very unusual for these two kiddos. She had them calm, happy and quiet when we returned (we told her she didn't have to put them to bed as that would exacerbate separation anxiety) when we were expecting tantrums and tears since it was way past their bed time. We had the best experience with Grandparents Unlimited this weekend as out of town visitors. We were in for the weekend from Houston and needed a sitter in very short notice. Liz, the owner, was so helpful and promptly arranged for a sitter for us. The sitter contacted me beforehand to introduce herself and hear about my kids. She was so friendly and warm. Our wedding celebration was adults only, but we had a few close friends who had young babies/toddlers, so we hired a sitting service for the kiddos to be looked after while the parents got to celebrate with us well into the evening. We were stuck in Austin due to the hurricane in Naples and after days of just us and our six year old we needed a break to get work done. Not knowing anyone in Austin this was not an easy task. Four seasons suggested we call Liz here and it was the best decision ever. She called back right away and set us up with Kim Brown. My younger son uses a nebulizer and she was able to administer his breathing treatment, give him a bottle, and put him to bed. Then she helped my older son with dinner. Our family was on vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday and we used Grandparents Unlimited as the recommended service to watch our 20 month old son. We were fortunate enough to have Glenda for all 3 nights as she was the epitome of what we could ask for in a sitter. Glenda was extremely caring, confident, and considerate in working with us and providing suggestions of how to ensure our son had a great experience. Our son, who is normally shy around stangers, took to her immediately and was laughing and playing within minutes. Moreover, as we were leaving the venue we spotting him happily holding her hand and walking to a play area, which melted our hearts and made us feel even more comfortable leaving. At the end of each night our son was always in good spirits or sound asleep, and with each new visit from Glenda he never skipped a beat in welcoming her. Fantastic babysitting service in Austin. My wife and I came in to Austin for a long weekend with our 3 month old baby. This service was recommend by our hotel as we were interested in exploring the Austing nightlife but very skeptical about having a complete stranger watch our little man. My wife called the company and got some background. It was started by ex FBI - every sitter is screened, background check, CPR and First Aid certified, etc. After looking up various review sites we felt like we should call back. My wife called back and the owner answered. The owner said oh I heard about you and the new baby. I promise you this and that, etc, etc. I listened to most of the conversation between the two of them and them more the owner spoke, the more comfortable I became. The owner said I have the perfect sitter for you. She watched my children, she's an amazing friend, in our 20+ years in business we've never had 1 complaint. So she called her friend and then called us back to confirm. When she called us back she said "Toni will be watching your baby, if you dont like her or the experience you dont have to pay." At this point I was blown away by her offer and confidence I didnt think twice about it. Toni then called to introduce herself. VERY PROFESSIONAL and this says a lot already about this organization. Toni arrived as scheduled. Did I mention we set this all up in 24 hours before we needed the sitter. We introduced her to our baby and she took it from there. She literally held Robert for 5 straight hours and let him sleep in her arms the whole time! I dont even do this as his father. Toni was a dream, so pleasant, amazing demeanor, polite, thoughtful and calm, so reassuring. She was a true pleasure! We couldn't have been happier with Grandparents Unlimited. Its $20 a hour for 1 kid + $10 travel fee and it was worth every penny. I cant wait to go back to Austin just to use them again. I wish this company was franchised and available out here in CA so we could use them more. I highly recommend this company for your sitter in a pinch needs or for any needs you may have. I hired Grandparents Unlimited for my wedding with about a month to go before the big day, on the recommendation of the venue and my wedding coordinator. We discussed the number of children we planned to have at the wedding, and approximate age ranges (given that not even my husband knew how old his coworker's kids were, exactly). I tried to email them to have something like a contract in writing, but they have no working email address. And thus the nightmare began. The owner left about 2 messages asking to confirm the contract. My wedding was the weekend after Thanskgiving, and I work for a startup, so I missed the calls, but her assistant successfully reached me about a week before the wedding. We confirmed the plan over the phone (again, no working email). On the Thursday before my Saturday wedding, I get a frantic call from the owner wondering why I haven't returned any of her phone calls, and that "speaking to my assistant is not the same as speaking to me, it's not sufficient." Uh, then why do you have your assistant making confirmation calls? So she says that the plan I confirmed with her assistant does not allow for sufficient childcare coverage, and that I have to double her contract, right then, immediately. That meant we'd go from 2 sitters to 4 sitters, at a rate of $22 per hour, plus a $10 travel fee per sitter. That's almost $500 in total, not counting their dinners provided by my caterer. She said we must make the choice immediately or she'd cancel all of the coverage we'd previously agreed on. Just so we're crystal clear, 48 hours before my wedding, this business owner is insisting on doubling the contract or I have zero babysitters, during the holiday season, when I can't get any replacements. With nothing in writing, so I had no legal redress, no breach of contract proof. It felt like extortion. So what choice did I have? I confirmed 4 sitters for the 5 hours of my cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. 2 were supposed to be with the infants in the room next to the bridal dressing area, and 2 were supposed to be on either end of a large lawn with the older kids (pre-school up to late elementary age), to make sure no one ran away, into the parking lot, fell in one of the 3 water features on the property, ate the poisonous berries onsite, etc. During the wedding, the sitters - all 4 of them - sat with the infants. Not one was out in the lawn area. The whole concern, the whole impetus to hiring 4 of them was that 2 sitters couldn't watch infants in one area and older children in another. Some were knitting at least part of the time. I know because as I mentioned, the infants' room was right next to the bridal room, and I walked by it multiple times. I would be happy to speak with anyone about the poor quality, extortion-like tactics and terrible business practices of this company. Don't waste your money - don't hire Grandparents Unlimited. read more

I was visiting Austin for a wedding & The Four Seasons hotel recommended this agency. The agency far surpassed my expectations! The agency, Liz (owner), & Glenda (the nanny) were so amazing. Preciously, I had never left my 9 month old daughter with anyone except my mom & mother-in-law. But I was attending a wedding and needed help with my daughter. Glenda came to the wedding venue and was beyond amazing!! She had everything under control & was the nicest British lady. I was able to relax, have fun & enjoy the wedding without worrying about my daughter. I ended up using her twice more in Austin before we left so my husband & I could go out to dinner. Generally, I am very skeptical about leaving my daughter with anyone & it takes me a long time to trust/get comfortable with people. I instantly felt comfortable with Glenda when she came. I could tell she loves babies, was trustworthy, very capable, & so kind. She truly is a baby whisperer. I wish this agency was in Los Angeles, I would use them all the time for nights out with my husband & friends. The rate was reasonable too! My daughter recently got married in Austin at the Driskill hotel. We had relatives with small children attending the wedding and hired Grandparents Unlimited to provide a children's area during the ceremony and dinner. The kids were invited to join the reception for the party and dancing. Not one of the kids wanted to leave the children's area. Parents went and got their kids who then begged to go back to the children's area. These sitters are phenomenal! Engaged the children with age appropriate activities, fed them dinner and snacks, and put the little ones to sleep as needed. I cannot say enough good things about these ladies. And as a side note, we had several babysitting needs for events leading up to the wedding and they were able to get me a sitter on fairly short notice who came to my home to take care of my great-nieces/nephews. And if I need someone in a pinch, Liz busts her caboose to make it happen. When my toddler got sick at school at 10am, they had an amazing person at my door by 11am, ready to take care of my child so I could go back to work. Date nights, daytime, anytime, they are incredibly responsive, reliable, consistent, and the quality of their sitters is terrific. Our toddler is excited to see either of the sitters we request. Things quickly became difficult with adding a fourth child at our home. I heard about Grandparents Unlimited and called them for help. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review because we used this service exclusively for a year and every sitter we had was wonderful. Some better than others, but I never worried about the care of my child. We even recommended it to family and friends who have used the service. Unfortunately, there was a turn of events that happened with the owner/scheduler of sitters and she handled the situation very unprofessionally. While I will admit, I was high with emotions as I am pregnant, I was never rude or disrespectful, just blunt about my feelings and our needs, since technically she provides a service for us. We tried to put the past in the past and move forward and then she continued to try to belittle me as a customer... THE PAYER for the service.
