I just posted this on Google, but I'm doing it here because I want the company to know how disappointed I am. Windsor House provided us with candidates they had supposedly interviewed and verified to fit both our timeframe , expectations and pay level. Our caregiver showed up for her first shift, was friendly and did ok with our children. Day 2, she ghosted us. No phone call, no prior notice and no advance communication from Windsor House. If I could give no stars I would. Why pay for a service that "verifies" candidates, when that obviously end up not working. I see this is similar to other experiences that someone else has had. Seems like this isn't worth paying for WHN to help. read more

Terrible experience, lost thousands of dollars, and left feeling hurt and violated in our own home. Windsor does not guarantee their nannies, does not honor their terms of service agreement, and does minimal work (mostly copy and paste emails) to pair you with a pitifully low amount of nannies for whom you then compete with 10 other families. We started working with Windsor in order to find a high quality, professional nanny. After 2+. months of interviews - during which time they were only able to present us with 4 total candidates - we ended up losing $2000, had wasted countless hours interviewing other nannies, and, most significantly, were left feeling violated and hurt when our nanny unexpectedly quit without notice and did not show up for work the next day. Windsor was entirely unsympathetic to our situation. Though we cited there were multiple terms of our contract that the nanny broke in her first week, Windsor just continued to stand by their screening process - which is clearly a failure of a system. Their consolation? That they wouldn't be charging us an additional $2000. Never mind the fact that there was no notice given and that we were left without childcare 3 days before my wife returned to work full time. Our nanny - whose name I am only not saying because I am not certain of the legality issues surrounding privacy - did not show up to work, did not text us to say that she was not coming, and has still not even sent us an email to let us know why she quit without warning. I cannot emphasize enough how frustrating this experience was. We let her into our home, she cared our our only child, and we even cooked dinner for her one night - but she still didn't feel obligated to at least let us know she wasn't going to show up. It was a dehumanizing experience. Not even a text message to tell us she wasn't coming. We didn't know if she was in an accident or if she were sick. She just ghosted us completely. And that was probably the worst part - questioning your character after being treated so poorly by somebody who you invited into your home to watch your child. Considering our circumstances, we requested a refund for the first part of the placement charge totaling $2000 - a fee that they hardly earned considering they were only able to provide us with 4 suitable candidates in a 2 month period, and that the majority of their work involved copying and pasting emails and calendar invitations. You can find most of their nannies on public Facebook nanny groups, as we found the nanny who quit on us posting there less than 24 hours after her quitting without notifying us. The response from Rebecca - Windsor's CEO - was to double down on their screening process and tell us why we would not be receiving any refund. Her consolation was telling us that we would not be charged an additional $2000 fee. She completely ignored the fact that our nanny violated multiple terms of the hiring agreement within her first week, (1) showing up to work late, (2) not providing adequate notice when calling in sick to work (she texted us an hour before her start time the morning of to let us know she would not be coming in to work), and (3) quit WITHOUT warning, without any notice. . In summation, Windsor: 1) Did not abide by their terms of service. 2) Works with unprofessional nannies. 3) Has an ineffective screening process. 4) Does not guarantee their nannies. 5) Provides terrible value for their services. 6) Terrible customer service and a complete lack of empathy. Do not work with Windsor. You will have better luck on an Austin nanny facebook group, minus the $4000 fee they charge to place you with a nanny. (By the way, if your nanny ends up quitting after 2 weeks, you will be out $4000.) Terrible value. Extremely frustrating experiences that dragged on for months. And even worse that they're supposed to be helping that which you value the most - your family. read more

I have personally have had an awful experience with this company and would not recommend them. The nanny they placed for us repeatedly breached the employment agreement within a period of a month and a half. We were left with no option but to let her go. We have paid them 4,000 usd In fees for this placement. There was a big issue that came up regarding the 90 day guarantee and its contingencies. I was under the impression the 90 day guarantee was a given If the nanny was not performing her Job In a professional manner, It Is not. I should have read the fine print much better. They have been so thorough I can't express how that has led to us being so comfortable with entrusting them with our precious cargo. We I totally reached out via yelp ( based on fantastic reviews and a referral ) they got back to us immediately and setup an initial phone Q&A. They then scheduled an in home meeting with us where any and all additional questions were answered and we agreed upon the type of services that would be provided. Finally they sent over all documentation via Docusign promptly making payment and coordination with my spouse and I a breeze. Stay away from this unsupportive agency in this ever changing/growing city. Nearly a year has gone by since I was "dropped" after several long/committed years under them. They pitifully own their "chums" and cap nannies off financially without really giving care to many factors...experience/education/continuing education in field/knowledge/successful performance/family reviews/verifiable references/complexity of responsibilities/cost of living/demand/the pandemic, etc. Only out for themselves/the sale instead of encouraging growing the nanny industry as a whole and limits instead of leads. Undervalues nannies and rushes placement situations/agreements. You can hardly do anything to get ahead/gain. Promotes lowering nannies' standards which is detrimental to the industry. I need to be my best self as a nanny and I also need to look out for my own happiness rather than being held back. I had accepted an extension offer for a short term placement agreement in January 2021 and shortly after put my two weeks notice in to my employer which I take ownership of. I was having to go to bat for myself to even get a Covid clause put in to place in my contract. I had originally landed this short term position in the fall of 2020 which I ended up executing beautifully. My initial inquiry for this position had fallen through the cracks and after following up I was the last of several interviews. I was hired on the spot. I had a situation arise due to the pandemic and needed to back down from this part time short term position that was offered to begin 2021. My employers were very understanding and disclosed to me that the agency wanted to punish me and were mad that the family was wanting their retainer reimbursed. Imagine that! Windsor House Nannies showed no grace or mercy whatsoever. Neither one of the owners reached out to me and this was all handled by their staff which I felt to be harsh too. The family and I stayed in contact and they decided to end their relationship with this agency as well and ended up hiring an au pair for more hours and a longer term contract. I have continued to advance and empower myself in this career by continuing to advocate for what I and other nannies deserve because I take it seriously. I stayed strong/am growing and thriving on my own after stepping away from this agency. Very disheartening to be lowballed/treated poorly when you know your worth and when families are happy to pay my worth on top of showing years of giving and giving. Windsor House Nannies made it difficult for me to reach back out to two references of short term agreements I had recently fulfilled as I was starting to transition into the world of overnight newborn care specialist positions. I even invested in myself and attended a live training in February of 2020 that Windsor House Nannies hosted. The bottom line is being underappreciated as an employee to begin with then just tossed aside doesn't sit well. Set your standards high and you will achieve your goals. Walk away. Never discount your worth. I absolutely know my experience hits home with fellow nannies and they share this view as well as I've heard their personal stories. While I am grateful to Windsor House Nannies for years of representation I always had an "off" feeling and they could be doing a far better job/whole lot better if they actually listened to their nannies and gave rise to our unlimited potentials. I just wish they would treat their nannies right. This agency failed and misguided me over the years. I truly hope things have changed over the last year for the best after enough feedback from service minded domestic workers that would appreciate agencies better informing employers on basic standards in this booming industry/benefits/bonuses/travel guides, etc. Parents should expect to pay a premium when using an agency and having a nanny is a luxury...a nanny should not come at their own expense to parents. We were daunted by the idea of searching on our own, and let's face it, who has the energy or time to deal with that search (and offers, and contracts, and...) on top of being new parents. They met with us to understand our care-abouts and what we were looking for in a nanny. There were over 50 applicants, some of whom wouldn't respond to emails or weren't willing to deal with questions/the process. This agency is a mother's worst nightmare. The first nanny lasted a full week. She said that she could only do things for my baby, but never for me. It was very awkward because obviously my child and I share laundry meals home. She was so rude and made me feel so nervous that when Friday came, I said thank you but not a fit. The next nanny seemed very kind and I liked her very much. Returning home after a parenting class on her very first shift, I noticed that the food she had fed the baby smelled bad. I asked her if he had eaten it, and she happily said oh yes he ate a lot. I asked if she had had any and she said just a little. She left for the evening at about 9:30 pm. An hour later my child was vomiting. I changed him and cleaned up, but within 5 minutes he vomited again. Four times I changed him, until 3 in the morning when I called 911. He vomited again as they sat in the room with us, again in the ambulance. The ER gave him a half a pill and electrolytes and released us at 6 am. Okay so that's food poisoning. The agency assured me that that was rare and to give her another try. Several days later, for her next shift, she did not show up. After her shift would have been over I finally spoke with her and she persuaded me that she'd been too sick to call and to please let her come the following day. I agreed, but again she didn't show up and never contacted me again. This agency uses the (frankly fake-sounding) British accent to lull desperate single parents into paying their fees. If you feel uncomfortable with them, your instincts are good: your child is too precious to be left with these horrible "nannies." read more

I posted a job looking for a nannies on care.com, sittercity.com, and urbansitter.com. Some nannies applied for the job, and I contacted a few more, for a total of 87 nannies (yes, 87!). Of these, 12 followed-up with additional reliable communication and 75 never wrote back (or "disappeared" after writing to us a few times). Of the 12 that were reliable communicators, only 5 showed up at the scheduled appointments. Of those chosen, some worked fine, but as the months progressed, we kept getting last minute cancellations because they had an exam that day, or needed to turn in a paper, etc... That was extremely inconvenient, because we had to drop everything and go pick up our son from school, while missing scheduled work. We needed something more reliable. We looked into 3 sitter services and selected Windsor nannies. These ladies rock! Rebecca met us at our place and discussed our needs. She understood our needs PERFECTLY. She then searched for the perfect nanny and gave us a lot of information on what to ask for, what perks to give, how to communicate, etc... In the end, Rebecca crafted a great contract that covers all bases to make us and the nanny happy. We are so happy and glad we found this service! It is extremely reliable, and they have a pool of nannies for emergency contact if needed. We will no longer find ourselves having to drop everything because of nanny unreliability! read more
