If my grandmother actually cooked, I would like to think it would be as good as this. This was our first time here and will come back soon. They were short-staffed, but the food was worth the wait. We highly recommend the wings. The honey barbecue sauce was amazing.

This soul food restaurant opened 3 months ago. I did a phone order and picked it up at LUNCHTIME. I ordered the fried catfish with string beans and yellow rice. I wish they sold sandwiches because the "dinner" only menu is a bit much if you have to return back to work. All meat dishes come with 2 sides. I also ordered a "flop" which is sweet iced tea and lemonade. When I walked in I was greeted and told I was right on time because it had just came out the kitchen. I was happy about that. The establishment has about 4 or 5 tables inside that you can eat at. They weren't crowded, as only 1 couple were occupying a table. Ok as for the good it was ehhhh, OK. Yea just ok. The catfish meal is $15.95, pricey, and you get a fish cut up into 4 pieces and tasted like cornmeal only, no seasoning. The yellow rice was EXTREMELY SALTY. As we know yellow rice has its own seasonings in it so there no reason to add additional salt. I couldn't eat it. The string/green beans are out of the can and has smoked turkey added w/ a lemon garlic seasoning. They were actually good but hate that they were out of the can. I want to go back and try different sides and meat but I'm skeptical. They're PRICEY and just OK.

This place is amazing... I got the fried snapper with the max and cheese/greens My girl got the big daddy platter and the fried Porkchops were amazing I legit have nothing negative to say SENSATIONAL! But the atmosphere and customer service was the star of it all

    Chicken strips and yams

Second time ordering from them and long story short I'm good from now on. Because what is this. The strips are tasty but terrible at the same time. The yams are out the can. I know the brand. However, the fried ribs are tasty.

This place started off strong but lately I've been having too many issues with my orders. Instructions are useless because they never follow them. Today I received very bloody ribs. Lost my appetite. I hope they really start taking their time with these orders because they may lose loyal customers.

Craving soul food? Take your behind over to Grandma's Kitchen. The husband and I went on Sunday afternoon and were not disappointed at all. The lobby had a nice amount of people inside with people also seated. The gentleman in the front (who also happened to be the owner) was so sweet and let us know right away that the wait for food would be about an hour, which we happily waited. We got there around 3ish and at that point they'd run out of a few items which was a bummer. Anyways, I ordered the pork chop sandwich with Carolina sauce. The thought of it brings hearts to my eyes. Hubs ordered the fried ribs with honey bbq sauce. His exact words were "them thangs goooooooooood!" . As sides we had the Mac and cheese (it was okay), the collard greens (a little salty but still bomb!), candied yams (more heart eyes), baked beans (even more heart eyes)! We will 1000000% be back!

I went here because of the hype. Let me address something real fast there was a stench when you walk in this establishment. So I briefly waited for my food outside. When I finally got my food I ordered a catfish dinner with collard greens, Mac n cheese, and corn bread. For one it's over priced and secondly the Mac n cheese was separating not my thing. I've been around some soul food cooking folks and I've never tasted anything like this. So I'll pass on.

Grandmas Kitchen is my new favorite soul food spot! Close to Coral Springs ! Nothing remotely like this west of I -95. Customer service was classic southern hospitality. Fresh food and menu has its pros and cons. When they out of the good stuff. They are out. I had the catfish , macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Without a doubt the best soul food I have had! Seemed like someone's grandma was literally in the kitchen. I'll be back!

Grandma's, the new soul food takeout in Coconut Creek. 4570 Lyons Road, the same plaza as Fish Joint. The food is delicious and super legit, but despite the menu, they only have what they have -- today, they had fried ribs, fried pork chops, wings, and catfish. The collards and green beans are the real deal with smoked turkey. Mac and cheese are tasty, but the clumpy kind and the cornbread is on the sweet side. They bake chocolate chip cookies, 2 for $1. This Sunday they are doing smoked chicken and a shredded turkey over white rice with gravy and a cornbread dressing, as well as baked ham.

Visited here with my husband and ordered take out. Staff was helpful and polite and I always love great service. They didn't have everything available on the menu but they did have a good selection available. So let's jump into the food! The portions are really good for the price. We received plenty of food! My husband had fish, candy yams and greens. His fish was great! It was Swai rather than the catfish as posted on the website, but it was very good. The candy yams were also really good, while the greens were just ok. I had the lemon pepper chicken wings, Mac and cheese and string beans. The string beans were seasoned very well, while the other two items were just ok. Looking forward to trying a few more things to see what their specialty, home run dish may be.

I just ordered wings for me and someone else and they are trash to the 10th power.....they look good but they are mad rubbery literally trash n on top of that we ordered all flats n we got legs anyway ...lol call customer service trash...n get mad because his wings are trash...you should definitely past this place up don't waste your money please just go to the wing stop right next door ...just spend the extra money n eat there and get better quality wings or food period at the wing stop right next door ....seriously do not go here I'm warning you ...DO NOT EAT HERE

Picture doesn't do it justice .I wanted greens but didn't feel like cooking.Plate took me back to childhood Sundays. Xoxo!

Service comes with a smile and they actually ask you to look at your order before you leave to make sure everything is to your liking. Ambience is clean welcoming with the option to dine in. Food- Finally some country soul food.I had smothered chicken, candy yams, string beans,Collard greens, cornbread, potatoes salad. It tool me back to the meals grandma used to cook after church on Sunday. The only thing I would suggest is a pinch less salt, just a pinch. Otherwise everything was seasoned to perfection. Made me wanna take my shoes off and enjoy! I wish Jarvis so much success. His smile and kindness of his staff and the GREAT FOOD will keep you coming back. So many people came in asking for the catfish while I was waiting. Remember the proteins are cooked to order so come and be patient or call your order in. If you want to feel like you got a plate from your Grandma house or a Deep South comfort plate ,this is the place!

Nothing like the photos submitted by others. The fish does not appear to be catfish and the wings were fried in old oil. Throwing the entire order in the trash! Unfortunately, it was ordered via Uber Eats for my grandmother while I was at work. PITIFUL!

So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!

There were two large slices of smoked meatloaf. The collards had the right texture and flavor with bits of smoked meats bathing in a wonderful pot liquor. The texture had that perfect balance of crispy edges and tender bite, with a deep smoky flavor that actually holds up like real BBQ should. You can tell these weren't treated like an afterthought menu item. They were rich, flavorful, caramelized perfectly, and absolutely loaded with BBQ flavor. The fried okra was also ridiculously good. Crispy, well seasoned, not greasy at all, and impossible to stop eating. The corn salad added the perfect fresh, slightly sweet contrast to the smoky and savory burnt ends. What really tied everything together though was the sauce setup on the table. The BBQ sauce was smoky and balanced, the hot sauce brought legit heat without overpowering the food, and the mustard sauce added that tangy Carolina-style kick that worked surprisingly well with the vegan burnt ends and okra. On top of the food, the whole experience was easy from start to finish. Ordering was simple, the staff was friendly and welcoming, service moved quickly, and there was plenty of free parking which honestly makes a difference at busy spots like this.
