We stopped in here for a pilgrimage to the local Harley-Davidson dealership! They have a fairly large selection of H-D motorcycles, clothing, accessories, parts, and more! I checked out the 2013 Heritage Softail Classic - it doesn't feel or look any different than my 2012 Heritage Softail Classic! I bought a few muscle shirts, one polo, a t-shirt, a Harley-Davidson street sign, and their H-D poker chip. Sammi from the Motor clothes department helped me out and was very cheerful and helpful. I had no room in my suitcase, so I had them ship the stuff back home to me. If you check in on Yelp - you get 10% off one item - I had them apply it to the H-D polo as it was the most expensive item. Ordered a seat thru them back in August. Supposed to be in within 7-10 days. At 12 days with no call I stopped in to which they claimed it was back ordered. Then was told September 20 it would be in. Once again no call so stopped in once again. Said they didn't know where it was and said he would call me back that day with what he found. You guessed it,no call back. Two days of calling before they finally found it. I understand shipping and backorder but no informing me of what was happening is unacceptable. Last time ordering anything thru them. read more

Stopped in today with a friend to look for some clothing. Was greeted by Joel D'Agistino warmly, asked us this was our first time in the store, it was, so he showed us around the place, upstairs, downstairs and in the shop. It was amazing to see all the bikes they have and get a complete picture of all they do there. I was able to get a couple cool pictures of unique bikes as well. My friend found a couple things we took off. Overall the staff there was great, very nice and helped us find what we were after. If I am in the area I will definitely stop back again. read more

i would not recommend buying a bike from them at all. i should have listened to people and went elsewhere. I bought a bike that was priced at $14,000. by the time papers were signed including a $5000 trade in it was $17000. just over a month later asked to trade up to a new bike ($27,000) they wanted another $3500 down payment. two weeks later I decided to make the deal and all of a sudden my bike was only worth $8500. I call bs. I was also warned that their mechanics are no good as well. needless to say the shirts I purchased there will now become grease rags! read more

I bought a used Harley here, with part of the deal being that they would put a different handlebar on the bike. After making several calls over the 2 1/2 weeks prior to the date they knew I would be picking up the bike, they "discovered" the day before that they didn't have the right parts and couldn't install the new handlebar. Unfortunately, I couldn't cancel the rental trailer to haul the bike in cold weather by that point, and they weren't bothered that I had a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there, either. I picked up a bike that wasn't what I had paid a premium for. Flash ahead three months. I wanted to order a couple of accessories, and make arrangements with Parts and Service to get the handlebar done. The parts guy who has my info either isn't there, or he's "too busy" to take calls. After spending a cumulative 7 days over 3 weeks trying to contact him or get him to return calls, I'm fed up and taking my business to more dependable places. GR H-D is all about selling the most expensive bikes and selling over-priced H-D-logo crap, and once they have made the sale, they don't give a hoot about their customers. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. Don't go there unless you love terrible customer service and premium prices. read more

I've had my Sportster in twice for service. Not cheap repairs, but about 2K invested. I accept that the 2 most expensive words in motorcycling is "Harley Davidson", but of all the bike shops I've been to over the years, GR Harley is simply sub par. On both occasions I had my bike there, the mechanic was off for 2 days while my bike just sat in mid-repair. What should have been a one or one and a half day service turned into 4 or 5 days. Jeez, this is how customers are treated? We get to pay prime labor dollar for crap service. Glad I bought a Harley. I've been told by more than a few Harley riders that Hod Rod Harley is the place to take your bike for service. Guess I'll try them next time. read more

For the first service of my ultra limited I chose Grand Rapids Harley because of feedback from other riders. I drove over an hour to drop it off. Got the call it was done cleared my day to go pick up my baby. MADE IT 10 MILES!!!! Half if my lights are out, she is shifting hard as hell, boom audio is all messed up, wont pair to my phone, RPMS are up at least 500 from what I am used to. This is how a 5k service works? But wait......"leave it here for another few days" we will look at it............... read more

The motorclothes department at GRHD is very helpful . They go out of yheir way to mske sure things are taken care of. They all are very energetic and I love that about them . Avoid having any service performed on your bike at this dealership. Broke down outside of GR and had my bike towed there. Tech claimed it was the ignition coil, yet bike still fired, and parts department suggested I contact other dealerships to find coil, given they had not one in stock. Normally, parts departments will check other dealerships under these circumstances and are typically happy to order aftermarket items if they cannot procure an HD part. Not so in this instance. Asked service to check crank sensor and phone me. They never honored the request and according to the tech, my ECM was reflashed (the service manager contradicted this). Obviously, repairing breakdowns can be challenging. My complaint is not with the inability to expediently find a solution. I understand that there is often a wait in such situations; however, I am mystified that some of the dealership personnel were so uniquely dedicated to not looking for required parts or proceeding with a diagnostic in a logical fashion. I had no choice but to tow the bike to another dealership after waiting in a motel for two and half days. To top it off, they charged me for a diagnostic that produced no results and refused to provide assistance loading the bike when the driver arrived. I knew the previous owner of the dealership. I am certain he would be displeased to learn that the place is not at all what it once was. read more

This year was my first year bringing in one of my bikes to dealership for work in hopes of peace of mind riding my bike this year. I will never recommend grand rapids Harley or return as a customer. I purchased 27,000 mile maintenance. They sold me a new set of tires, rear breaks for around 1,200$. well that 1,200 got me, over priced tires but you know I had it in for the maintenance not a big deal I'll pay the price for convenience. Then we come to the important part my maintenance. So not even a week later I had to bring my bike back because I had a primary leak that I specifically told them to fix and they did not. and on the follow up visit all they could tell me is their sorry their mechanic for got to write down the problem that was going on. why was he even writing it down I said to fix the problem!!!! So this problem that they didn't fix, didn't listen to their customer. they wanted to charge me full price without any reduction of price for the inconvenience of having to bring it back again. okay so strike 1, so then after going home unhappy, they did not tighten my front axle nut covers. So luckly I found it laying on the ground where I park at work. I look at the set screw and it's stripped. something again I'm sure they for got to "write down" so strike 2, and the biggest F*** you I got from GRHD is my bike is now making a noise every time I come to a slow stop. best thing they are willing to do is make me wait for an open serives date, keeping in mind this would be my third trip back there. open a new service ticket. No assistance, no care, nothing but shitty stealership willing to charge you to all hell and not stand by their work. read more

I bought a 2017 Iron 883 from them in july 24 2017. First thing I was signed up for the academy class that nite. I went yesterday to pay $349 for my class and said I was signed up. I was called today and told I'm not signed up for class.I took a weeks vacation off to take this class. Now I cant take class at another date. Along with that, my new bike had 200 miles on it,I went to change the spark plugs and the factory over tourqed the plugs in and they both broke off in heads. I had to take the bike back to them, because I wrenched on it , it was not covered under warranty. Cost my $711 dollars to get bike fixed, now the crap with my riding class, If I cant take riding class that I was signed up for, I will never be back as a customer, and Harley-Davidson will never have me again as a life long customer. read more

Bought my first HD here Feb 2013. My Husband bought his first HD in 2006 at this location. We love them. They always treat us as family!! I have purchased many items in motorcloths and parts. (Girls gotta have Bling!!) We have made riding a family tradition. Since my husband and I started riding in 2006, my sister and her husband have both bought brand new HD's at GRHD. We enjoy the many events the Harley Dealer puts on. (Usually food is always involved and thats always a plus with my Husband!!) Its amazing the amount of prizes they hand out at most events. My husband and I have been to GR HD several times, as we live a few short miles from them. Additionally we take a couple of trips a year on our bike and frequent HD shops along the way. We have made some purchases (touring seat, leather coat) at GR HD, but never a bike, because of their sales tatics. GR HD has the most arrogant "used car" salesman mentality of any of the HD shops from Upper to Lower Michigan, down to Florida that we have experienced. As I learned last week, apparently if you buy something from one HD shop, you can't return it to another. I purchased a retro look large HD logo thermometer ($30) at a northern MI HD shop. Unopened, receipt attached to the package, we went to GR HD to return the thermometer, as it was defective. We were told that they do not return items purchased at other HD shops, but they had one comparable that they sell. I asked if they would either exchange the defective thermometer for one in their shop, or give us a store crefit, but NOPE, not even an option! The week prior we thought maybe, just maybe the sales tactics might have changed and decided to give them another try and went to look seriously) at a used Ultra, possibly trading in our Road King. They were only interested in selling us a new bike with financing. Apparently they get a kickback, because they didn't want to talk a used cash deal...nope, nothing's changed except after shutting us down on the thermometer issue, we will NEVER buy so much as a handkerchief from them. Moreover after talking with our other rider friends, and at our local American Legions about "thermometer gate" there were are lot of other not so positives experiences regarding GR HD. After being in retail management for a major department store, HD hardline approach of not taking care of their "HD Family" with this not bought at our store, can't return it to our store policy, they are setting a sour precedence for maintains customer loyality. It's already pretty disgusting that the genesis of the HD motorcycle company was the USA, and yet all of the clothing, boots and accessories are Made In China. read more

We walked in the store an hour before close to look at a used bike. I was a brand new rider, and had no idea what size bike was right and a minimal idea of what I wanted. Matt immediately greeted us, and was more than eager to help. He was super patient walking us through a lot of bikes available, and when I changed my mind at the last minute, everyone was accommodating. I think we left at close to 9:00, after purchasing a bike I am now in love with. And then didn't ride it home. Matt came in the following day, his day off, and helped me/us celebrate. Bought my first bike from gr harley a few years and had an ok experience. New staff and new attitudes were promised by a salesman that had been trying to get me back in. I went in again with an open mind because i live right around the dealership, and didn't want to travel far to buy another bike. Long story short i traded in the bike i bought from them few years ago for a used bike. Bob, the manager was the most unprofessional person I've dealt with to date. Grand Rapids Harley Davidson is less than impressive... and that's being nice. I currently own two Harley Davidson Motorcycles and have purchased bikes (as gifts) for family members from several different dealerships across the state (six in total). I have shopped for bikes in almost every dealership in the state and Grand Rapids is the only one on my list that I refuse to purchase from. They treat buyers as though they are uninformed and incapable of math. On three different occessions, I have received prices from GRHD that include maintence fees, oil change fees, and unnecessary set-up fees. I understand most dealerships charge for freight and set-up for a new bike, but that should always be waived in negotiations (even at HD dealerships). Customers paying for this are suckers. Furthermore, a dealer should never charge extra for an oil change fee for used bikes. Safety inspections and new fluid maintence is standard practice and any used bike being traded in is discounted according to what the dealer must do to "prep" it for resale. Dealerships should not expect to charge this twice. In fact, they wanted to offer me 300 dollars less than fair market value on my trade-in (as a service charge) and then charge me for the same service on the bike I was interested in purchasing. Pick one... customers are not that stupid. Furthermore, GRHD math does not typically add up. After paper work fees, set-up fees, maintence fees, etc. most of their offers (in my experience) add close to 40 percent more in addiitonal cost of ownership over a five year loan when compared to other dealership prices. Next time you shop at GRHD, I would encourage you to go home and compare the math on your "deal" to the same bike purchase at nearby dealerships. For my money, Sandy's in Fremont is the place to go. Finally, I would wager that anyone who claims to have received a good deal on a bike from GRHD is suffering from denial. Most people would never admit to overpaying for a vehicle or high ticket item. People always want to impress their friends with their negotiating skills. Due to the ridiculuous and insulting intitial offers from GRHD, I would recommend simply taking your business elsewhere. I can however say that most of the people working in parts and clothing are friendly and knowledgable. Also, their customer appreciation and dealer events have really gone downhill since new onwership took over. I didn't really care for the previous owners, but now their free food days are vending machine pretzels and popcorn. Not worth the drive... which is unfortunate because I would at least go their on pancake and brat days and easily spend 200-300 dollars on marked-up clothing. I bought my Sportster used from grhd, and WAY overpaid. I didn't have the knowledge then that I do now and they obviously took advantage of that. Less than a week after purchasing my bike, my wife and I both started receiving phone calls from them averaging once a week to bring it back in and trade up. I hadn't had it for a week. For about two years they called us almost once a week, but always at times that were inconvenient for us to answer. Finally I got a call that I was able to answer and told them to take me off their call list. So they proceeded to call my wife. I told them to take her off their list, and I still receive calls from them. The saddest thing about this is, I work across the road from grhd. I refuse to go in their store any more. I have also been to several other Harley dealers in Michigan, and am running out of dealers I am willing to spend money at. Sandy's HD in Fremont is the one that I am willing to spend my money at. Bought my first bike there 2 summers ago and at first I felt I was well taken care of, a well respected salesman who was now their new vet rep helped me find the right bike and convince me to buy it, then the customer service stopped right there, they strung me along on every detail and process of purchase, they even took off the saddle bags and fender rack to put it out for a bike event, even though i was in the process of getting approved. Then they tried to tell me that bike was sold and this one was different, well other than noticeable attributes and mileage to say otherwise im certain it was the same bike. When i purchased the bike I had to get a co signer even though originally they said i was golden. so i played ball got one and then they threw in all the bells and whistles with my bank backed purchase, oh you def need the Extended Service plan they said, it covers so much youll be glad you got it, well just brought my bike in for a tune up and everything they found "wrong" nothing was covered. 1500 dollars down the drain there. on that note everytime i called to get an update or estimate i was told the mechanic "jimmy" would call me back, it went in for a new back tire and tune up, and not once did he call me for almost a month of it being there, even after me calling twice sometimes three times a week, customers service meant nothing. He even tried adding a laundry list of things that needed done, even though i had rode the bike prior to coming in and it was just fine. I said ok at first, get the bike in top notch performance, but then after several attempts to contact them and nothing in return i said screw that just do what it came in for and call me on the bill, well as youd expect no call on the bill, but when i did get through they said ok we havnt started any of the extra stuff yet and gave me a price to get my bike the hell out of there, so long story short im going in to get it one month and 500$ which almost turned into 1200$ later and gonna put GR Harley in my rearview and never look back. Theres a reason that place has changed names several times in the last decade, now i know why. read more
