They had to change my massage therapist the day of due to illness but I'm glad they did because Crystal did a great job. It was a relaxing experience and the pressure was what I asked for. The only reason I wouldn't return is the pricing is very steep especially when you add in tip but I did get a great massage.

What. A. Mom-cation. My husband absolutely nailed Christmas…read morethis year and gifted me a hotel room and a full spa day--all by myself. No schedules. No "Mom, can you...?" Just rest. And I can honestly say I'm heading home feeling like a brand-new woman. (Full hotel review coming soon.) From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest smile, which instantly set the tone for the entire experience. Then Crystal welcomed me back and took incredible care of me with a full-body scrub followed by a full-body massage--and wow. The body scrub alone was next-level relaxing. From my neck all the way down to my toes, every bit of dry winter skin was gently exfoliated away. My skin felt baby-soft--the kind of soft you keep touching because you can't believe it's yours. After rinsing off, I dried, slipped into the coziest space, and settled onto a heated massage table that immediately melted any tension I had left. Crystal checked in with me about pressure and focus areas, and when I say she listened--she really did. My neck and upper back were so deeply relaxed that I didn't even realize how much time had passed until she gently asked me to turn over. By the time she worked into my chest and shoulders, I was knocked out AGAIN. I awakened as she is lifting the bed so I can sit up. I'm handed a robe, water and slippers and slide my now noodle soft body down the hall to my facial. Another heated bed and Ashley await me. And my face is treated to a winter time refresh. I also feel asleep during this relaxing service. And when I woke up a moisturized and refreshed face was staring back at me. This wasn't just a spa treatment--it was intentional, thoughtful, and exactly what my body and mind needed. Every mom deserves this level of care and Ashley & Crystal made sure to make that happen.

The quiet room used to get a little loud for me but now they have curtain dividers and they keep the curtains closed so it's dark. Unfortunately, they added books on the table in the relaxation room and someone thought it was a good idea to bring a book to the quiet room. I could hear every page turn. They have new massage beds that are a lot more comfortable and they can adjust the head and foot. So nice. You get to choose your massage oil scent and they still offer the wellness shit when you check in. I think the slippers are new but the robe was not from what I could tell. They have new snacks. I miss the dried mango but I will live. They have nice, fluffy blankets you can use. Staff was very friendly. And I absolutely love the manager. She is amazing. You can still order food. They take you to a quiet hallway to eat. Unfortunately my server disappeared on me but I walked back to the spa and they took care of me. I also love the chocolate and tea that's provided after your massage.

The only challenge is finding the Four Seasons along the riverfront. It's right by Horseshoe Casino. Valet parking is $18 for spa clients. Once we got off elevator on 7th floor we were in paradise - taking advantage of all of the amenities. It's a gorgeous, serene setting. We ordered lunch from room service and were escorted to a private dining area for the spa. The infrared spa gives a dose of red light therapy. The steam room is scented with eucalyptus. There's a whirlpool and two lounges to choose from before and after your service. Arrive an hour early and relax as you wish. Then afterwards, fall asleep in the chaise lounge chairs or recliners. The view of the Mississippi is special. My facial was 60-min and was fairly basic. What you are paying for is the atmosphere and experience. Definitely will be back! Outdoor swimming is included Mon - Thurs. My daughter LOVED it. Cell phones are strictly not allowed so I was able to upload photos of the lobby. Trust me the spa is beautiful!

I've been coming to this nail salon for the past year or so and have always had pretty good…read moreservice. However, today took an unexpected and deeply unfortunate turn. I generally work with Twin* (not sure this spelling is correct). Today, she was nearly 30 minutes late to start my nails. Rather than acknowledge her tardiness or even apologize, she began service in such a hurried fashion. When I asked that she clean under my nail bed and shape my nails (they were chipped and uneven) before adding tips, rather than simply perform the request she proceeded to feign confusion, argue with me about what I meant, and call me "aggressive" for what was a pretty straightforward request. I recognize that miscommunication happens and we all have bad days, but to fall back on a lazy and racist trope such as calling a Black woman customer "aggressive" for making a reasonable request was extraordinarily poor form and absolutely appalling. As a paying customer, I deserve to ask for what I want and to experience good quality service. If I see you missing steps, mishandling the health of my nails, or rendering inconsistent quality, it is my literal right to ask that you address the problem. Rather than just take ownership for her behavior, Twin and her supervisors refused to service me altogether. Needless to say, I will not be back.

Also, since I don't do this regularly AND it's my first time here, I wasn't certain of their way of doing things. I checked in at the front desk. I had booked a basic mani and basic pedi online but was upsold a gel manicure at the desk for $15 more (and am kinda glad I got it because I was able to do anything I wanted immediately instead of waiting for my nails to dry). The woman absentmindedly pointed me to a table of nail polish swatches where I could look at color choices. My nail technician (I think his name tag said "Ryan") got me and led me to a pedicure chair. He at first prepped for me to have a gel pedicure but I clarified that the gel was only for my fingernails. He then said I had to pick a different color for both my nails and toes -- i wanted to same color for both. He returned with new polish colors but I said that the color wasn't correct. He ARGUED that the colors he had were right and that I should trust him that it would be okay. Well, IT WASN'T. I wanted a soft coral, he applied a white-pink. It was to match my dress for a wedding. It didn't, obviously. Argh. I will never return.
