I've been here a few times over the past 15 years but, sadly, I allowed myself to get sucked into "you should go to the dealer" syndrome. I am glad I came back to GG. I have neglected my Kia Sportage a bit, and GG is helping me get it back on track, one thing at a time. I wanted an oil change but I knew it was far more than that. The complete electric diagnostic showed me areas I suspected needed help but I was fearful of finding out (you know, out of sight out of mind?). Whatever the case, I had my oil flushed and cleaned out and taken care of. I can FEEL and HEAR the difference in my engine. Over the next few months I will tackle other things as I get paid. They really take care of you, they are the best, they never try to oversell you, you can tell they're totally honest with you, & the work is done by Master Mechanics! AAA approved - They even ask you if you have it to give you the discount. Who does that right?! They always ask you if you need a ride. AND even though I live way out in the boonies of Escondido, they will take you home after dropping off your car and pick you back up for FREE when your vehicle is done. I'm basing this review off of a simple phone call I made to the Grand Garage....I was quoted a price I felt was excessively from the dealership where I bought my car. I decided that I would look elsewhere and saw the reviews for Grand Garage. I left a message with Janet and she relayed my question to Rob who called me back to let me know that the price I received was actually a good one....he knew I'd end up going to the dealer to get the work done based on his feedback....he still spent time answering all my questions and providing me with the knowledge he has....he told me I could call back with any questions in the future and he would gladly help. The worst place to go to get your car fixed I brought my car in on a Wednesday and I had four sensors lights on So they said there was a part to be put on it took two days to get the part So on Friday they call me up and said you can pick up. This was the first time I've ever taken my car to get repaired outside of my regular mechanic and the dealer. My daughter chose them because they were experts on my make of car which is also a hybrid, I should explain when I called our regular shop, they admitted they didn't have the experience for that. Let's just say they were intimidated by all "the electronics"... So there I was on a Friday afternoon just wanting to get my car running...for the following week Grand's service went above and beyond because I didn't have an appointment, although the can-do attitude of Rob was a refreshing change from what we're used to hearing from others lately. Wait, it gets better...they not only repaired what was needed, they have got to be the most honest shop around. I had left lottery scratchers in my car I intended as a birthday gift (because i cleaned it out in a hurry before having it towed) and when I picked it up, they were still in the car intact. Not only that, but there was some major work that needed to be done and Rob researched the problem and found me a service bulletin that will allow me to get it done under an extended warranty that the dealer's service advisor wasn't even aware of...Needless to say, I would recommend this shop to anyone who cares about their car, as I do, because I feel like my car is my baby. Until last year, there was a shop in town that was owned by a good friend of mine, nor did I get a great price, I got great service, OME parts, and I never had a problem with them. Well, the shop was sold, the prices went up, they lost their best two mechanics, and at that point, I decided to check somewhere else. I had recently purchased a four-wheel-drive forerunner, third generation, which is the best generation for building for an off-road vehicle. While I was driving, the radiator hose blew, and I knew that the radiator was old as well. so I took a chance on Grant garage. They did beautiful work, and charge me about $300 more than the Toyota dealer would have. And yes, I checked the prices. How these guys can charge so much is beyond me, I know there are people out there that want to ensure that their vehicle is repaired properly, and you can get that here. But you can also get it at your cars dealership and for a lot less money. Not only that, but then I was bombarded with emails and texts and phone calls over the next few months Urging me to repair the 127 things. They found wrong with my truck. Now mind you some of these things do need to be repaired or replaced, but it's obvious to me that these guys are in the business of turning a dollar, in fact, quite a lot of them, and quite a lot of it. Go ahead and go here, if you want your car repaired correctly, and you like to pay through the nose. Of course the owner replied as if I never had service there, I did, my name here is NOT my legal name and I have the receipt. I brought my RV to grand garage in July 2017. They fixed some rodent damage, and fixed wiring to my windshield wipers, and quoted me items I could not afford at the time. When we picked it up I noticed that there was damage to the left rear. Immediately I went back in to the office and asked them what they did? I was told they did nothing and that I had brought the vehicle in like that. I was furious, and said I wanted to speak to the manager. One of the mechanics came to the front desk and said that they don't know anything about the damage as I brought it in like that, I told them absolutely not, they caused this damage. I asked to speak to the owner. The owner came Out, and said oh yes sorry "we did damage your vehicle on accident, we backed in to something , see it is here in the invoice" -buried deep inside the invoice. I was so upset, and advised him that he was responsible to fix it, he agreed and he said don't worry about it go and get it fixed and we will cover the damages just bring a receipt. I told him I could not afford to have it fixed at this time, that is why I didn't fix the ac or generator,and he said that was OK just fix it when we had money/time. We had to bring the vehicle back shortly there after as they did not fix the hubcap properly. Again I spoke to the owner and said that I would prefer if they would fix it as I could not afford it, he said he was again sorry but did not do auto bodywork and that he would pay for it when ever I got it fixed. I put the RV in storage until I could afford to fix the air-conditioner and generator. The day I picked it up I took it to a auto collision store which quoted $2500 for the repair. Out of courtesy I immediately contacted grand garage to let them know that the price was quite high and wanted to find out if they had a recommendation to another place where they would want me to send it. He asked me to drive 30 miles to bring it in so he could see it again. I sent them a photo so they could see that it was exactly the same damage as the original damage. After five days, four phone calls, and three emails, the owner finally emailed me back today stating that he would send me only $250 since it was 8 months since they damaged it, and the damage was probably worse now than when they originally damaged. Wth?! Unbelievable Also I told him that the windshield wipers still did not work, and he did not respond to that. Do not take your car To this rip off immoral company, the owner is a liar and a Thief! If you do take it here, check your car over very carefully and make sure they did not damage anything as they will not accept any responsibility and try to hide any damages. Had I not noticed the damages that day, I would never have known they did this. They were never going to tell me without my pursuing it. Disgusting read more

I am a first time customer. I went in worried I was going to have to pay a lot of money to get my brakes fixed when I mainly just wanted to see if they were OK. They gave me a price when I came in of the minimum it would cost to check them out, and it was very reasonable. They were very quick to look at the car and they told me everything was good. Grand Garage is outstanding from the rest. I own several older cars since I cannot afford a new one. These cars are 'end of life' cars such that once they cost more to fix than worth, I simply junk them. So often I will take a car in and the price of repairs just does not justify keeping the car. One car I drive daily is my 2010 Subaru Impreza. The poor baby finally threw a code that I thought would be the end of it. I called Grand Garage and the lady who answered the phone was very nice, knew what she was talking about, and convinced me to at least to bring it in. Since I live more than 50 miles from Escondido, I had to wait for my wife to get off work to give me a ride home. This wait gave me an opportunity to talk to one of the staff about car questions I've had for a few years. He patiently explained everything in plain English and again made me feel very comfortable. The next day the Grand Garage called with a full estimate within my budget and emailed a complete detailed description of the car's needs. A day later the car was ready. I told them I would be arriving prior to opening so they could recommend a breakfast place (which they did). In addition, the shop opened early to accommodate me. The car works perfectly, and I am so happy I found Grand Garage. I found out that they work on cars other than Subaru's so I will be visiting them again. I walked in and was warmly greeted by Pat at the front desk who listened to me and got my problem fixed amazingly fast. I hope the management knows what a gem they have in Pat- he explained what they could and couldn't do to fix the problem and that they wouldn't know exactly what was required until they got a look. He didn't try to automatically sell me tires (which was what I was dreading). I just want to say grand garage was exceeded expectations, I needed spark plugs they where convenient for me because they open at a good time so you can drop off before your 9-5. I took my daily driver for a spark plug job, the service rep Pat took care of the request also threw in a discount coupon. They offer to let you use the loner car if you need while the work in your car. This shop had super quick follow up and also gave me a print out of diagnostic on my car with recommended services I should consider next, I drive 1300 to1500 miles a month and I'm glad I found this place for future tune ups maintenance. I have been to the Grand Garage a few times over the past 2 years. The first two times I was there I just needed a diagnosis and wound up going to the dealer because the issue fell under my warranty. (Side note: In 2014 we purchased a Chrysler Town and Country and thankfully we got the warranty because it has needed a new engine and now a new transmission) This time I went there and Dave helped me with diagnosing the transmission. He was so kind even though I've technically taken my business elsewhere. I was even looking forward to paying him this time! I paid for the diagnosis which was one-hour of work and left. I don't like having car issues but I like the Grand Garage and have always felt cared for with my issues even when Dave isn't going to make money off my business. So , I'm the proud owner of a 95' Chevy Silverado and is my Baby. I was having fits with an electrical issue. My a/c had stopped, my wipers would stop mid stroke and at times my power windows were staying down. I had replaced fuses and relays and thought the worse. I would have paid and had set money aside for a $1200 estimate on the repair. I set up an appt with Pat who is the front counter guy. I was greeted professionally and politely. He listened and made notes accurately for the technician. He explained the cost of the diagnosis and if it didn't take the three hours he would credit it back. I scoffed at this. Sure Pat. Like that was going to happen right ? They found my problem with two hours. Pat called me and explained the work needed and I approved the work. Gotta fix my baby !! They took me home and picked me up when my truck was ready. Pat even offered me a loaner if it was gonna be a lengthy repair. Here's where the 5 stars come in. Pat sends a courtesy van to get me. I walk in and I could hear my wallet crying already. Not so !! Pat broke my bill down and adjusted it for not using the 3 hour cost of the diagnostic. Yeah..my bill went down to a little over a grand. As I was going thru the repair Pat walks out. I need to adjust your bill for something to do with my blower motor. He gave me BACK $247.00 My total cost was just under $800. He didn't have to stop and tell me zip ! I wouldn't have been any wiser. I was happy he adjusted the labor cost but give me back $247 !! I was more than happy. Pat , you and the guys in the shop are amazing and honest people. I would give you 6 stars but they're not available. I'll be back again and I'll gladly refer you business. All I have to say is WOW. When it comes to customer service, these guys are the real deal. From talking to Mike initially on the phone for a quote to being assisted by David at the front. I will never go back to another dealership again. They will let you know whats wrong and what needs to be fixed, but I never got the feeling of being pressured to do so. When I went to pick up the car, David gave my daughter a pink carnation which made her day. I even recently received a card in the mail thanking me for choosing them. First off they said I would only have to pay 100 dollars for a wheel alignment so I left my car and they said they would check to make sure that's what I needed. I told them not to start working on the car and quickly remembered that I knew the owner of Grand Garage in Escondido from a marketing group I belong to. David took the time to take my call and was able to answer all of my questions. He even did a quick exercise with me to see if I would be better off just selling the car and not fix it. I was on vacation from washington and the passenger rear door of my car would only open about 1.5 inches. Called Grand Garage at 3:30 pm and they told me to bring it in. They discovered the problem and got the door open. They could not replace the door clips that had failed due to no parts available until after we were leaving to return home.
