I love this place! My husband isn't the biggest fan of venturing out to a buffet but whenever I suggest Grand E Buffet, he grabs his car keys. Their food is so fresh & they have a huge variety to choose from. When a dish is close to empty, they keep a close watch and a new batch is placed within moments. The staff are quick to clear your used plates and pay attention when your drinks are low. You'll never be thirsty. They offer a "take out" service when you fill a to go container and pay per weight. Honestly this is one of our favorite spots any day of the week. My husband is in love with their short ribs and once I tried them, it's a staple on my plate. The lo mein is so good. Their crab Rangoon are the absolute best. They have the perfect texture and don't have an overpowering flavor. They have the combination just right. I also like that they offer duck sauce in individual packets. And their fish is tender and tastes like homemade with excellent seasoning and flavor. I recommend basically every option they have. It's a popular place so don't be surprised if the tables are full. It's affordable for the selection and the service. I can't wait to go back again. I go here if in the area to protein load. I just eat the ribs, fish & chicken. The sushi is novice. Don't eat that. The crawfish is in some weird sauce.. don't eat that either. We had the lunch buffet on a weekday for $8.99. Sodas are $2.29. The hot entrees are good especially the fried shrimp & fish and steamed seafood dishes. Not dry and hard because it's been freshly cooked. However, rice in some of the sushi was hard so leftover rice was probably used. Desserts are various cakes & pies, fresh fruits, and ice cream. That's kind of off-putting. Broccoli on hibachi bar is really fresh! Vegetable spring rolls slightly soggy. The "Japanese Chicken" looks a lot like Chicken Teiryaki, but it's not. They finally moved us after the employees were taking longer than expected to fix the chair. Unhygienic and crusty. First time here and definitely the last for all of us. Definitely one of the best hibachi buffets in Maryland. There is a good variety of food and everything tastes good for the most part. My only criticism comes from the parents who allow their small children to access the buffet without them. I went here twice last weekend while in Laurel. The first time I fixed a plate to go and the second time we ate there. I think it's a good buffet. It's not the top of the line, but it has a good selection and it's clean. I know you get the best deal if you stay there and eat versus making a plate and taking it to go. The food was pretty much similar to any asian buffet I've been to. I was craving oysters and found out on yelp that they did have them so I was looking forward to it. The place was fairly clean, staff was friendly and service was great (Getting the finished posts and giving refills). I didn't get to try the hibachi grill but next time I will. While the Grande Buffet has a clean update decor, sushi and Mongolian Grill along with five lines of hot chaffing trays, the way management does things was off-putting to me. Patrons pay as they enter which is a bit unusual for a Chinese buffet. The lunch price was $9 tax inclusive, which seems like good value for money in this area. But the non inclusive drink choice was an overpriced can of soda, which I declined. Nearly all of the serving trays had niggling printed signs. Some were welcomed, like asking patrons to accompany children in dishing food. Some signs were cya and harsh, such as raw oysters may contain worms so no refunds. And there several signs chastening lunch people not to take items marked for dinner, but no such items existed for my late lunch. My Mongolian grill guy was very personable. But instead of dicing the steak before grilling it, it was done as it cooked. By doing so, it exposes the grizzly parts of the inexpensive cut. What I really have trouble understanding is why hard shell blue crab was breaded. Usually that prepartion is for soft shell crab. Food tends to be not that appealing to me at buffets, but I thought I could get some shrimp at the grill section -- NOT! Chicken, steak, and fake crab. So I pic up salad and a slice of cheese pizza. The worker at the grill pretended he didn't speak English when I clearly heard him as I approached the area speaking to his coworker. STRIKE 1!
