Place is decent. Better than the Atlanta Hurricane Harbor. The park is clean and the slides deliver…read moreonce you finally get to them. That's the catch. There is no Fast Lane here. At all. The lines crawl. You spend more time watching tubes float by than actually riding them. Kind of wild that a Season Fast Lane is basically on vacation the moment you walk through these gates. The staff is... interesting. Mostly younger employees. Nobody seemed in a hurry. Ride ops moved at the pace of a lazy river. You start wondering if they're getting paid by the hour. Oh wait. It's giving... Zootopia sloth scene but make it a water park.

We tried to get a locker and the scanners on the lockers were broke. So everyone had to use the kiosk. Problem 1. We got on a slide that was awesome. Perfectly dark. Short line but should have just stayed in that area because we got lost trying to find the entrances for many rides. There were no entrance signs or directory signs besides the first crossroads sign. The raft rides had no rafts so we had no idea where to wait when there were no lines. We decided to go to guest services and asked for a map and the kid working looked at me like he had never heard of a map for a theme park before. We then asked how to get on the slides directly behind his kiosk and he actually said "I dont know the park." ?!? Lol Their main food building had the longest line of the entire park and no coverings for the line as well. Just the hot sun. All of this was minor compared to the fact we waited in a line for a single person raft ride for an hour while people with "blue rafts" continually went on the ride over and over because they get to skip the lines...no where in my purchase of season passes or upgrades was I offered this option but paying as much as we did and watching people who paid $18 skip us was the sign it was time to leave. So we left. Do not recommend

For today's review, we're going back to 2025 when I took my last ride on X2. And on the surface. It…read morelooks outstanding. I mean, just LOOK AT IT. A near-vertical drop, seat rotations, MASSIVE inversions, AND it's HUGE. This thing looks like it was not created by man. Unfortunately, we cannot ride it since it's closed forever. Which is REALLY depressing because if you pay attention to the coaster community. X2 has a reputation, and it's a GOOD reputation. Not only is this coaster absolutely amazing, but it's one of the BEST coasters in the WORLD! I'm NOT kidding. Ever since it opened in 2001, X2 has always been widely considered one of the best coasters ever made. As well as a historic coaster, since this was the first 4D Coaster ever built and the last coaster Arrow Dynamics made. So we're riding history! And history is sure amazing!!!! So yeah, let's get into why this coaster is so good! After getting into the restraints and hearing "Is everybody in?" "The ceremony is about to begin" and "X2" from your speakers (warning, this may take a while). We leave the station and head to the lift hill. While on the pre-lift, we listen to Frank Sinatra's "It Had to Be You." We then flip upside down from the seat rotations (YES! THIS RIDE GOES UPSIDE DOWN BEFORE YOU EVEN HIT THE LIFT HILL.) You then begin to rise as you're now facing the WHOLE park. During this time, you listen to "Enter Sandman" from Metallica (Awesome song btw) as well as some quotes from The Matrix. The anticipation continues to build up as you're now in your seats getting nervous since you have NO idea when the drop is gonna hit. We then flip once again at the top before hearing Aerosmith's "Love in an Elevator" before hitting the first drop. And this has got to be the best drop EVER made. I'm not kidding. Not only is it near vertical, but your seat does a FLIP while you drop! All you can think is "HOLY CRAP. THAT WAS NUTS" Seriously, the drop alone makes this a top 10 coaster. But don't worry, the fun isn't over! We then hit the first raven turn, this is awesome since we fly and FLIP right through it which provides ALOT of sick forces. We then drop down and head into an inverse airtime hill (and flip through that) before turning right over the station. This gives us a breather to recall what just happened. But don't worry, we gain all of our speed as we drop down into a corkscrew-like turn (I say like since it's it's not actually one). We also flip during this so that's awesome :). Anyways, we the drop down next to a pair of flamethrowers (Which may or may not work) as we then head into another raven turn which is just flat out INCREDIBLE! At this point we are screaming "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!" We then get one last flip before rising into the brake run where we cannot help but take a deep breath and start clapping as.... well... that was truly insane. Unfortunately, there have been some serious injuries on the ride recently. Involving a death in 2022 and two women requiring medical attention this year. Absolutely horrific incidents that should not have happened at all. And my thoughts and prayers are with the victims. And just today, Six Flags Magic Mountain confirmed that the ride is dead and that it will never reopen again. Which is really f*cking depressing. I get the reasons, and I won't fault Six Flags at all. Safety is the #1 priority here. But it's super sad and tragic that one of the best coasters ever went out on such a low note. I get why, but that doesn't make it any less sad or depressing. Especially given that it's injured and killed people. Seriously, I hope they come out okay. X2... one of the best coasters ever made. May you rest in peace. )= Final Score: 100/100 Opened: January 12, 2002 as X Refurbished into X2 on May 24, 2008 Closed July 12th 2026 Manufacturer: Arrow Dynamics Last Ridden: May 20th 2025

I have not been to see Christmas lights at all this holiday season, so I finally thought I would…read moremake it out to Holiday in the Park as it has been recommended to me by a co-worker. I did go after the holidays, so it was not as busy (I imagine it was WAY busier during the holidays). I am not sure if you are able to pay there, but I would definitely make sure to reserve and pay online before you go. There was not a ton of cars when I went, so after I checked in at the front, it took me about 15 minutes to get to the start of the lines. The whole experience took about 40 minutes. I have to say I enjoyed it. There were tons of lights everywhere and there were random mini shows throughout the drive. It was also kind of cool to drive through the park (which is something I don't think we would ever get to do if it had not been for the pandemic). There were some areas that were not as lighted as some of the other areas, but all in all, I thought it was kind of cool. I went in with low expectations and came out pretty impressed. A few logistics for those that still want to go. I believe that the Holiday in the Park has been extended for the rest of this week and then weekends until the end of January, so you can still go and see the lights. Tickets were a little on the pricey side (I paid about $35 per person), but I thought it was worth it. They also have a snack pack that you can add on to your ticket. I was tempted to add a funnel cake to my ticket, but decided to pass (lol). There are also porta potties right before you start the drive in. (I did not use it, but there is a Target about a mile or two on Magic Mountain Parkway, so if you can, I would suggest going there so you can avoid using the Porta Potties).

There's plenty of entertainment, fun foods to eat, and characters walking around and interacting. I had a chance to speak with Mike Ostrom, the head of entertainment at the park. And he let me know that the reindeer came up with their own choreography for the slider show. I love that they let the cast be part of the creation. I will be coming to Holiday in the park every year, my children and I have an amazing time every time we go.

Lex Luthor's Drop of Doom

Today we're here to ride Lex Luthor at Six Flags Magic Mountain! The World's Tallest Drop Tower!!!…read more(Since Orlando Free Fall killed someone and Zumanjaro was closed without warning, which I cannot express just how pissed off I am at that). Once you pull down the OTSR's, you notice something interesting about them. And that's because they feel just like a lapbar. They aren't bulky, they give a ton of room, it feels just like a lapbar! And honestly. I like it! It gives so much room. So yeah, SWEET! We then start to ascend the Superman tower. If you're facing right, you get a good view of DC Universe as well as a good view of Batman, Riddler's Revenge, Twisted Colossus, Scream and Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage. However, if you're facing the other side, you get a good view of Twisted Colossus, Goliath, Full Throttle, Revolution, Tatsu, Viper, and X2. But either way, you're getting a GREAT view. Now, back when Superman was open, a Superman car will dispatch and it will cause the tower to shake a little bit. No this does NOT mean the ride is unsafe, you're gonna be fine. This is a structural thing that is done with 90% of coasters. But yeah, it scares the crap out of the GP. And I'm sorry to be mean, but I find that to be HILARIOUS! However, Superman is now dead so you can no longer experience this feeling, which is a bummer! =( We eventually hit the top where Lex Luthor says some dialogue before laughing. We are then waiting in suspense for a few seconds before we eventually plummet 85 MPH straight down from 400 ft in the air. And yeah, this is awesome on its own. But if you do what I do and close your eyes and look straight down. It becomes INSANE! Almost gives you the feeling of the first drop on X2. Well... not quite.... but it's sort of similar. Eventually, we slow down to a crawl right as we hit the bottom, where we can't help but clap. So yeah, that's Lex Luthor. And yeah this is a GREAT drop tower! I definitely prefer it to Superman as it's currently one of the best drop towers that I've ridden. So STRONGLY recommend trying this out as it's a great ride and a must do for all drop tower enthusiasts! Just be careful because Six Flags could tear this ride out without any warning, especially now that Superman Escape From Krypton is closed forever! Seriously Six Flags, KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM LEX LUTHOR!!! Final Score: 95/100 Opened July 7, 2012 Manufacturer: Intamin Last Ridden: May 4, 2018
