By far, this is the best thrill ride in Six Flags Magic Mountain. I highly recommend flash pss thougj. The line moves extremely slow and it always seems like they only have 1 car running. I personally refuse to wait more than a half hour for any ride so that's just me. If you dont mind waiting, you don't want to miss this ride. Make sure you poo before you ride or it's all coming out when the ride starts! Enjoy!

Everyone raves about X2 and I can see why because the ride is truly like no other, but I don't know if it delivered expectations for me. X2 is a unique ride because, on top of it being a roller coaster, it's not even 4D -- it's 5D. The 360-degree rotating seats make it similar to The Joker at Over Texas and Great Adventure, but The Joker isn't anything intense. X2 goes over 200 feet in the air and the first drop is so intense that you're literally like WTFFFFF. Oh did I forget the speeds too? It's 76 mph and because it's a 5D ride, you don't know if you're gonna flip over during that drop -- every aspect of the ride is truly unpredictable. I would say while it is a unique ride, I thought the ride was a little painful at times because you really don't know what's gonna happen to you and you're so focused on dangling around that the thrill of the ride isn't experienced as much. You're seats are on "wings" so you're not even on the track which make it another cool aspect that was a plus for me. X2 is truly unique to Six Flags Magic Mountain though, and I think any coaster-lover should still try this ride out nevertheless. The ride is located at the pretty back-end of the park and you have to walk through this bridge to get there so it may be a bit of a walk, but it's worth it and this is one of those rides that are kinda like "you have to check it out" because there's nowhere else in the world where you'll get this kind of experience.

This gate opened up at 11 AM, which leads to your death.

This is the coaster of death. You will die on it. It is so deadly that the park has decided to NOT list this ride on their list of rides for "Holiday in the Park". Do NOT be fooled that this ride opened up as what the park claims, it really opened up back in 2002 under a different name and had seats that would get stuck upside down going back into the station. Those who were unlucky to ride got a fate worse than death. The only saving grace was you could come on Wednesdays and the ride would always be down for 'maintenance'. Also, the ride would also actually break down for months and even years at other times, so lots of people were spared this cruel fate. Sadly, the park decided to spend 10 million dollars to prevent this ride from breaking down. Sure, the seats don't get stuck upside down now, but at that point, your probably dead anyways. This means that here in this brand new decade, you will not be able to pray that this ride will break down for the entire day, thus sparing your life. It has been up and running all 3 days of this new decade so far, and the last 4 months of last decide, and never has broken down for the entire day. Even the staff is fooled at times, because they put a sign out at guest relations saying it was closed (with people breathing a sigh of relief) only to find out the ride was operating. Also, you know this place hates children because they have the height requirement at only 48 inches, as to encourage children to go on and die.

X2 going up and Viper in the background.

Currently my favorite ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The engineers perfected the thrills and suspended drops, seating and twists and turns for this one. You'll be amazed at and scared at how your literally suspended and free falling to the ground with just a chest harness protecting you!! Love the ride, don't like the long lines with the "no loose articles" notice...the lines do take long because you need to rent a locker to put your things in. Worth the wait and worth the ride! I can't get that Metallica song outta my head! Lol!

The switching of the G-Forces was intense. It flips and twirls you in place, while propelling you insanely in directions. I can't explain this one easily, but it's one of the most unique coaster experiences I've had and tickles my inner coaster fanatic. One of my top 3 at the park. Tatsu and Colossus being the other two. No order. It's really worth going up towards it. It's the first coaster you see driving into the gates of the park. Near Viper. Ride that one first because this one will spoil it.

X2 besides being one of the best coasters ever has quite a unique history to it and a kinda story to how it came about that I have always thought was pretty cool. X2 was built and designed by an awesome company known as Arrow Development who pretty much if you've been to a theme park anywhere it's a good chance you've ridden one of their coasters or rides as they've built several including Matterhorn Mountain @ Disneyland in Anaheim which was the first tubular steel coaster ever built. Wile Matterhorn was Arrow's first coaster X would be their last as they went bankrupt in the middle of construction for the ride as they had spent wayyy too much money developing this type of coaster technology to try to beat out the competition with the result of this the ride sat for about a year until it finally got finished only to have a ton of breakdowns due to design flaws and what not seeing that this type of technology hadn't been done before. So a few years later X becomes X2 which seemed like it was pretty much the end of what I would call a million breakdowns as the cars and some of the ride were redone to include music a new paint job and some other effects to help the ride run better. I've honestly lost count how many times I've ridden X & X2 but I can say that ever single time it's been a crazy insane experience as you pretty much have only the person sitting next to you as you pull out of the station in your rotating chair and head backwards up the lift hill into the sky of a incredible view of the Magic Mountain area where as you reach the top you feel a slight tease of a drop and then it's face first to the ground before your car starts doing a flip to even you out until the next part of this of this super thrilling ride until the end! The line for X2 can get really long I mean really long on busy days so try to seek it out first or come on a day where it won't be busy because you'll be chillin here for a bit! Once you reach the Station you can rent a locker to store your stuff in for $1 I highly recommend you get one or leave your stuff with your friend who's to chicken to ride because you will lose your items on this ride forshures! Im sure it won't be long before I take my next ride on X2 because it's always good times with that said... IS EVERYBODY IN? THE CEREMONY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN! IS EVERYBODY...

The park also feels like there's unlimited amazing roller coasters to go on. If you like roller coasters- and scary ones, this is your spot. Lastly, when I initially bought tickets, I booked a cabana for the following day at their water park. But then accidentally bought tickets to the wrong water park. Instead of hurricane harbor, I bought tix raging waters. When I realized it after signing into my account and there was no tickets for the water park besides the cabana, I contacted customer service and they heard my story, they took into account I spent a ton of money in their park that day as well as bought speed lane passes, and they gave me a full refund on the cabana. I thought that was incredibly nice. So, overall experience was absolutely 5 stars. Will definitely come back!! Thank you magic mountain for such a good time!

We raced for X2 but of course it was closed...ugh. We got on Tatsu using our fast passes. Took about 20 minutes. Not bad. Tatsu was as great as ever. We then rode Full throttle. Again about 15 minute wait. Great! That ride is insane! The park started heating up and we quickly realized none of the lines had any relief. No misters, fans, or AC in most of the lines. The Goliath fast pass line was a series of stairs in 90 degree heat. Samurai Summit from the backside was a horrible walk. No relief areas as in drink stands either. Everything boarded up and closed. It looked bad. The wait for fast passes started becoming an hour. Ridiculous if you ask me. Wouldnt bother me if it wasnt so hot. The food prices are what you would expect, about $18 for anything to start. Its the drink prices that blow my mind. $16 for a white claw is insane. No cash accepted as well. Overall, a decent experience. The park just needs to invest in customer comfort and quality of life improvements to make this park shine.

We arrived when the park was opening and everything moved smoothly entering the park. We tried to get a locker and the scanners on the lockers were broke. So everyone had to use the kiosk. Problem 1. We got on a slide that was awesome. Perfectly dark. Short line but should have just stayed in that area because we got lost trying to find the entrances for many rides. There were no entrance signs or directory signs besides the first crossroads sign. The raft rides had no rafts so we had no idea where to wait when there were no lines. We decided to go to guest services and asked for a map and the kid working looked at me like he had never heard of a map for a theme park before. We then asked how to get on the slides directly behind his kiosk and he actually said "I dont know the park." ?!? Lol Their main food building had the longest line of the entire park and no coverings for the line as well. Just the hot sun. All of this was minor compared to the fact we waited in a line for a single person raft ride for an hour while people with "blue rafts" continually went on the ride over and over because they get to skip the lines...no where in my purchase of season passes or upgrades was I offered this option but paying as much as we did and watching people who paid $18 skip us was the sign it was time to leave. So we left. Do not recommend

On Black Friday, the park was really busy and we arrived an hour before park opens. They were consistent on opening times. I would recommend just going to the park attendant to scan the pass as the "scan license" plate only takes one car at a time and the line looks like it is running slow. If you have Diamond or the Prestige All Park Pass, make sure you ask for the preferred parking. For preferred parking, just follow the cones and once you reach the attendant, they will take the slip away and they will guide you on where to park. One thing that change is there is covered parking with solar panels. I guess Six Flags wanted to take advantage of the solar credits. Once you make it to the gate, there is a line specifically for diamond/prestige pass members on the left hand side. This will allow you inside the park first at 9:45am. Once inside, you will need to wait behind a line and at around 10:15am, they will let you inside the park where you can line up. We usually head to Full Throttle as they only run 1 train and operations can be slow. They usually open the ride before 10:30am. After our first ride, we usually get a 2nd one. The rides opening at open are usually at hit or miss. On black Friday, the rides opened at around 11:30am and there are some rides that were closed this trip 1. Goliath - doing a paint job 2. Apocalypse - doing a refurbishment - they need to retrack the sucker 3. Superman - not so sure if this ride will ever open During the first Friday we went these were closed, but opened on the following Friday: X2, Ninja, Justice League and Riddler. For the Black Friday, you would think they would have most of the rides open as then lines ended up being 90 minutes or longer and the food lines were longer. On the next Friday, it was not so busy as the longest line was around 20 minutes which was awesome and got to ride a lot of rides. For Holiday at the Park, it is cool to walk the park at night. But dress up accordingly as it will get very cold. I highly recommend not riding roaring rapids at night as I got my pants and shoes soaked. The Jet Stream, not too bad, but I recommend riding Lex Luthor at night on both sides as the lights are awesome to see. The ride up is cold, but highly recommend. But yeah I would highly recommend taking an hour to do a full walk around the park at night time to take a look at the lights. Also, the DC characters do come out randomly and the looney toon characters come out near the front of the park. We did see Christmas characters come out and they do performances as well. They sometimes have a rock concert near Full Throttle. Food wise, I would recommend getting the Dole Whip. The ice cream is not icey and creamy now. This compares to the Disney one and I will always get one if I get to visit now. Food has been the same as last year though, hopefully with new leadership they will have better food. Here are the rides and my quick assessment as I rode most of them this time around 1. Full Throttle - this line is slow and long due to only 1 train only running. If you have a skip a line, use it on this one 2. Twisted Colossus - must ride, they were running 3 trains. Lines do move fast 3. Goliath - closed when I went, but I usually ride this one when I go 4. Batman - they maintained the ride well on this one. This one ran smooth 5. Wonder Woman - definitely a ride. They have free lockers and if there is no one in line easy to reride again. This is good when the park is dead. Can easily reride many times. Crew is nice 6. Riddler - this one got rough and lots of head banging. I got a headache 7. Gold Rusher - kids ride, but really rough 8. Crazanity - I skip this one as you can ride this at other Six Flags parks as this one gets a crazy line 9. West Coast Racers - line moves slow due to how the process is, but this ride has grown on me. Get rid of the comfort collars 10. Lex Luthor - must ride, it is one of the easier rides at the park 11. Jet Stream - they need to put more water as the boats rattle a lot and ride is rough 12. Roaring Rapids - fun ride, but your legs do get wet. I rode this 2 times and my feet and legs got wet 13. Tatsu - this line moves slow and has long lines. I usually skip this ride as this one gives me a head ache 14. Viper - skip this one for me as it is rough 15. X2 - used to be my favorite ride, but this one gotton a lot rougher that I need a breather after 1 ride 16. Revolution - this one is not too bad. The new trains make the ride smooth. I did not ride it this time around. 17. Ninja - not too bad I like to ride this once Overall an okay experience. Lots of what they can do better. At least they had rides open during the 2nd visit. Hopefully next year will be better.

Once you pull down the OTSR's, you notice something interesting about them. And that's because they feel just like a lapbar. They aren't bulky, they give a ton of room, it feels just like a lapbar! And honestly. I like it! It gives so much room. So yeah, SWEET! We then start to ascend the Superman tower. If you're facing right, you get a good view of DC Universe as well as a good view of Batman, Riddler's Revenge, Twisted Colossus, Scream and Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage. However, if you're facing the other side, you get a good view of Twisted Colossus, Goliath, Full Throttle, Revolution, Tatsu, Viper, and X2. But either way, you're getting a GREAT view. Now, back when Superman was open, a Superman car will dispatch and it will cause the tower to shake a little bit. No this does NOT mean the ride is unsafe, you're gonna be fine. This is a structural thing that is done with 90% of coasters. But yeah, it scares the crap out of the GP. And I'm sorry to be mean, but I find that to be HILARIOUS! However, Superman is now dead so you can no longer experience this feeling, which is a bummer! =( We eventually hit the top where Lex Luthor says some dialogue before laughing. We are then waiting in suspense for a few seconds before we eventually plummet 85 MPH straight down from 400 ft in the air. And yeah, this is awesome on its own. But if you do what I do and close your eyes and look straight down. It becomes INSANE! Almost gives you the feeling of the first drop on X2. Well... not quite.... but it's sort of similar. Eventually, we slow down to a crawl right as we hit the bottom, where we can't help but clap. So yeah, that's Lex Luthor. And yeah this is a GREAT drop tower! I definitely prefer it to Superman as it's currently one of the best drop towers that I've ridden. So STRONGLY recommend trying this out as it's a great ride and a must do for all drop tower enthusiasts! Just be careful because Six Flags could tear this ride out without any warning, especially now that Superman Escape From Krypton is closed forever!
